Creating A Function To Calculate Two Database Columns / Values?

May 11, 2010

I am using ASP.NET 2008 Visual Basic Language. I tried to create a function that multiply two values from two different tables and get the result presented in a label. The value is retrieved by referring to the primary key after the user selects from a DropDownList which is in another page using sessions.

I tried to build this code in the Load_Page event but it didn't display for me the total.

VS 2008 - How To Calculate Between Two Columns In Gridview Control

Jan 6, 2012

I have a simple gridview control on .aspx page. It has one combo box in the gridview control and rest of the columns in the gridview control are all bound controls.

When the user picks something from combo box, I should multiply the number (picked from the combo box) with other number in the same row (meaning in a different column on the same row). I want to do all this in server controls not thru JQuery or Javascript.

Basically my problem is I am able to read data from unbound combo box control in the grid. But I should be able to read the contents of another bound column in the same row and perform multiplication between those two fields.

Code:
<asp:GridView ID="GridViewActuals" runat="server"
DataSourceID="SqlDataSource1" DataKeyNames="gl_number"
onrowcommand="GridViewActuals_RowCommand" Height="285px"
onrowdatabound="GridViewActuals_RowDataBound"
onrowupdated="GridViewActuals_RowUpdated"
Font-Names="Verdana" onrowupdating="GridViewActuals_RowUpdating1">

Forms Data Controls :: GridView,calculate Value Based On Other Columns& Save To Datasource?

Nov 8, 2010

I had just started with Visual Studio 2008 + VB.net. I've now designed my tables, and basic gridview functions properly.Now I'm faced with the problem of having to calculate a value based on 2 - 3 columns/data in the gridview, display the result in an existing column in the same gridview, and saving the calculated value in the datasource.I had initially created the "Total" column as a textbox displaying a manually calculated amount that is saved in the datasource. Now, I want to change the field to auto-calculate based on 2 other columns.

Web Forms :: Calculate Button And Adding New Values?

May 4, 2010

I have a calculator page that calculates the carbon footprint of electricity and water, which has two textboxes and two drop down lists and a button.

When a user enters a number in the two text boxes, each number is multiplied by the other number given in the dropdown list ,and then clciks on the submit button he/she gets the result in a label as well as the values he entered.

what I need to do is enable the user to add another calculation in the same form and i need the label to keep the result. so, the user can enter new values in the form as the fields will be cleared and clicks on the calculate buttin again, gets the result and the total result is added to the previouse one.

XSLT Creating A Table With Varying Amount Of Columns

Apr 20, 2010

I have a RSS feed i need to display in a table (its clothes from a webshop system). The images in the RSS vary in width and height and I want to make a table that shows them all. First off i would be happy just to show all of the items in 3 columns, but further down the road i need to be able to specify through a parameter the amount of columns in my table. I run into a problem showing the tr tag, and making it right, this is my Code so far:

<xsl:template match="item">
<xsl:choose>
<xsl:when test="position() mod 3 = 0 or position()=1">
<tr>
<td>
<xsl:value-of select="title"/>
</td>
</tr>
</xsl:when>
<xsl:otherwise>
<td>
<xsl:value-of select="title"/>
</td>
</xsl:otherwise>
</xsl:choose>
</xsl:template>

In RSS all "item" tags are on the same level in the xml, and thus far i need only the title shows. Thr problem seems to be that i need to specify the start tag as well as the end tag of the tr element, and cant get all 3 elements into it, anyone know how to do this?

SQL Server :: Creating A Temp Table And Populating It's Two Columns Manually?

Feb 2, 2011

I am creating a temp table and populating it's two columns manually and the rest of the table from the data returned by the stored procedure. When I added the first column called custno as @CustNumber, it allowed me to add it fine and the rest of the columns were filled by the stored procedure as expected. I then needed to add another column called RepeatCustomer the same way but it keeps saying:

Msg 207, Level 16, State 1 Invalid column name 'Repeatcustomer' So eventhough I have added Repeatcustomer column it's not seeing it. Any one has seen this error before or know what's wrong with this code. Note when I parse the query it's fine, it only fails upon the execution.
