This is annoying, because I have to apply this style to every single thumbnail image individually, when there could be any number of them on the screen at any given time. All of the thumbnails are inside a single <div> that groups them together, and I'd like to apply a single style to the <div> that will push the attributes I need down to all of the the <img> elements nested inside, regardless how many thumbnails there are.
I wonder how it would be possible to set a Forecolor to a Table cell element using the .Attributes.The thing is that I have to put the color from "myColor" and using ColorTranslator but know how to combine this with the .Attributes? So instead of the color "red", I am trying to put the color "myColor" instead:
I've been watching a video on Scott Hanselmnn teaching MVC 2 tricks/tips. He mentions how MVC 2 by default uses ASP.NET Web Forms view engine to render the output of the views; he mentions that the web forms view engine is a little slower than it could be for MVC 2 since it generates a control tree and then outputs the HTML to the page (I hope I said that right).
I was wondering what he meant by web forms generating a code tree before outputting the HTML to the page. Does anyone have insight on the view engine of Web forms and the steps of the rendering process works for ASP.NET and MVC2?
I have a control that displays a list of comments. The comments are created in a loop. The problem is that I want to put a LinkButton at the end of each comment and change the CommanArgument of each button to the ID of the current comment.
When I put the Linkbutton in the CreateChildControls method and then add the CommandArgument in the Render loop, the button works, but the argument is blank. When I put the code that's in the CreateChildControls method inside of the loop, I don't get an error, but nothing happens when the button is clicked.
i have a user web control wich has the website menu. this menu is viewed through out the entire web site.
i would like to mark the selected link, on the menu with in the web user control,in some way (red background or w/e) the thing is, i cannot manage this from client side since there is a page_load on every click on the menu (witch brings up a different page). the only thing i can think of is saving the click to the session and then retrieve what was clicked and change the style accordingly via c# in the code behind.
I have a web user control (wcCmdBtn.ascx) which has an asp.net button and i need to add an additional attribute from the form page that the user control is linked on. My button name is btnExport and my language is vb.
I know there's been a lot of dicussion about removing inline styles that asp.Image control renders by default. I have applyed soultion mentionedhere. But I am facing another problem with this control. If I set Width and Haigth attributes on Image control and the result HTML is:
What I would like to have is separate Width and Height rendered outside style attribute. Like when having server HTML control. And let's say that I cannot subsitute asp.net image control with HTML server control.
Is there a way to somehow render Width and Height for asp.Image separatly?
Using VS 2010 RC, VB, I have a label on a masterpage that is hidden. I want to make it visible from a content page when needed, and have the text change on the label as well from the master page.
I am using the following to access the label, but the text and other properties don't change for some reason.
Dim lblErrorMessage As Label lblErrorMessage = CType(Master.FindControl("lblErrorMessage1"), Label) lblErrorMessage.Style.Add("display", "inline") lblErrorMessage.Text = "LoginID ALREADY EXISTS!!! Please choose a different ID"
I have a user control that displays a list of records. Users have the ability to open an embedded user control with a FormView to either add a new record or to edit an existing one. The UserControl with the FormView has a button that closes and hides the user control.
If the user control with the FormView is opened to edit a record, the code works fine. But if the UserControl is opened directly into Insert mode, the code craps out
I am accessing this xml file by using LINQ to XML in asp.net by using C#. I am able to access all the attributes of an XML node by explicitly specifying the name of the attribute. I want to write query on this xml file which reads all the attribute values of the xml node (In our example the node is SERVER) dynamically means I want to write the query which can read the read the value of the attribute Name & ID from first node, only name from second row, Name, ID & Parent from the third row , Name & ID from the fourth row, Name, Parent & Value from the fifth row & only Name from the sixth row without modifying the existing code every time. Once I add one of the attribute ( for example if I add the attribute ID in the sixth row ) in the above xml file then I dont need to modify my LINQ to XML query. My query should dynamically fetch the total number of attributes & display their values. Is their any way to do this ?
I have a complicated user control on a form that's laid out they way the business unit wants it. What they would like is to be able to export this content to excel and/or PDF as an image. Basically I need to be able to render the user control as a static image.
Is there any simple way to do this or is it even possible? Since the user control is HTML, it's not really rendered at all at the server level as it's just HTML, so I would assume that I might need to interface with IE library.
I want to render a user control in pagemethod and return the html back to client. But its getting annoying, I tried like many ways but nothing found working. The problem is that, the usercontrol require both HtmlHead and ScriptManager.
I tried this but it doesn't work(raise error : ScriptManger require in page) because ScriptManager must be inside HtmlForm but Page.Form always null.
I am using web user control and making it visible false initially (page load) and on the selection of checkbox i am making it visible true. user control html is missing when i load it on checkbox selection. is there any when that i rebind the complete form again on checkbox selection so that user control html should be rendered.
i am really struggling to solve this issue since last two days.
I did try to create menues from the database. I noted that the code only allows for top level 1 and level 2 (submenu) menu items only.I modified the code and got what I wanted. Now I have issues with formatting. The subsequent menu levels (submenus) are not well formated. how i can format the menu items using CSS?Below is the modified cosde:This code seems ok.
Private Sub PopulateMenu(dt As DataTable, parentMenuId As Integer, parentMenuItem As MenuItem) Dim currentPage As String = Path.GetFileName(Request.Url.AbsolutePath) For Each row As DataRow In dt.Rows Dim menuItem As New MenuItem() With {.Value = row("MenuId").ToString(), .Text = row("Title").ToString(), .NavigateUrl = row("Url").ToString(),
How would one go about creating a facebook-style "Like" button in C# ASP.NET without doing a postback? Are there any code examples or tutorials that you know of? I assume that would have to use asynchronous javascript. (this is a tough one to search for due to the Facebook keyword!)
This would have to work with .NET 2.o framework, SQL Server 2005 and VS 2005.
I have come across a requirement to dynamically show or hide asp.net web controls , html server controls. I want to do this through a configuration XML (as it would be easier to config). So each page /aspx will have a configuration xml.
Would it be possible to create a control (may be a custom control , to which i can attach the xml file). The control (lets says - call it sequencer) should decide which control should be ordered in which order and if the control has to be shown or not. Ideally this sequencer control should use the page events and take decision on rendering the child controls.
I am using asp.net menu control with sitemap. I placed this control in master page. I want to apply style sheet for that menu control. Can any one tell how to do that.
However when i render the control, my styles are not reflected.
When i check 'View Source' it applies my classes(italic) and ALSO applies in-line styles (underlined)along with it, which overwrites my styles. for e.g.
I need to desgin a dropdown list control which can contain N number of rows (which is normal) and M number of columns inside each row (which is not very normal)
Each column will contain a special charecter, and clicking on the charecter should add that chrecter to a textbox placed along side the dropdownlist. It can be imagined as an N * M matrix inside a dropdown list.
I've just created a Menu navigation that's linked to a SiteMapDataSource (which is in turn getting data from a .sitemap file that I've created). It looks great and acts accordingly, but my only question regarding this is there any way to just change the style (font color, in this instance) of just one element in the menu item? I just want it to stick out a little more than the rest of the menu items.
