Web Forms :: CrossPage Postback Without PreviousPageType VirtualPath
Feb 2, 2011
Im using this code below, but it does not work. I am NOT specifying the "PreviousPageType VirtualPath" in the page, as I want to be able to post to this page from multipul different pages. It finds the placeholder ok, but the control collection for that placeholder is empty so the textbox is never found.
I want to be able to post to this page from many pages that are created using the custom error page. So I cant really specify the "PreviousPageType VirtualPath" as it can be many places all of which are not physical paths
I had a requirement to pass data between pages in my application.I have a Page A where user will input some data and on submit User will be redirected to Page B where again user will enter some more data and on submitting user will be show a confirmation in Page C after doing some calculations and data saving.Following is the idea I was trying to use:
PageA.aspx:
[Code]....
In Page A Codebehind file I am creating following public properties of the inputs to access in Page B:
[Code].... In PageB.aspx: using previouspage directive to access page A public properties <%@ PreviousPageType VirtualPath="~/PageA.aspx" %>
[Code]....
In Page B Codebehind file I am creating following public properties for the inputs to access in Page C:
[Code]....
in PageC.aspx: using previouspage directive to access page A public properties
Postback is working fine from Page A to Page B, but when posting data from Page B to Page C, it is automatically redirecting to Page A.
I am not getting any kind of error or anything. page is simply redirecting to Page A. One reason as I understand is that when I post data from Page A to page B. Page A life cycle is executed and Page A becomes null. But when the data is posted to Page C. why the PreviousPage property is checked for Page A?
I've a DetailsView which I would like to pass an ID across to another page but cannot figure out how to do it!My ContenPlaceHolder is called MainContent, DetailsView is called DetailsView1This is what I have:
My virtualpath provider works well in VS 2010 but doesn't in IIS 7.5 on my localhost. In IIS, I get a HTTP 404 when I fetch an aspx, which is normal because the aspx is in a table. The problem seems linked to the sequence
HostingEnvironment.RegisterVirtualPathProvider(new MyProviderClass) in the AppInitialize method.
There is no exception raised but the instruction seems to no avail :
If I try object O = HostingEnvironment.VirtualPathProvider immediately after the registering, I see that O==null.
I am trying to set history points for a form that posts to a second page. Both the first page and second page are content pages in a master page. The form is in an update panel and consists of several textboxes, one radiobutton group of two radiobuttons and one ajax calendar control. The last two textboxes are a zipcode box and a county box. The county box is populated from a database table when the user fills in the zipcode in a textbox and tabs out or clicks in the next textbox.
I'm trying to pass post data from one page to the next but PreviousPage always equals null. This is what I have in the original page (inside an updatepanel
how can i persist gridview data after crosspage posting? It seems that every time i visit another page and get back to page the entire gridview data and page index were reset.
On my page: a Button1, a ListView1, a Panel1 and inside Panel1 an ImageButton1In the ListView1_PreRender-Event the property Panel1.Visible = false or Panel1.Visible = true is set.1. After first loading of the Page Panel.Visible = false ist set in ListView1_PreRender.2. After the postback click on Button1 the criteria for the visibility of Panel1 are evaluated, thus setting in the ListView_PreRender Panel.Visible = true.
I have a script that runs during the Page_Load() event which checks a database table to make sure that the user is still owns the lock on the page. If they no longer own the lock, I disable all the controls on the page and display an error message. My thinking was that by disabling all controls during Page_Load() I could prevent any PostBack events from occuring. For example, I have a button on the page called "Save and Quit"
I'm at my wits end on this one looked/Searched/Played/Experimented and I need your help if you can. This page is going to be primarily used on a mobile device using Win Mobile 5 Need to Accomplish:Prevent Postback(serverside) of Page using JavaScript (Postback's slow down the page on mobile device)
I have 2 textboxes and a submit button inside a .net composite server control. I tried to only postback when submit button is clicked. I set autopostback = false for both textboxes. But either one still trigger submit button's onclick event by hitting "Enter" inside textbox. How can I stop postback by enter key?
When an asynchronous postback happened inside update panel, another postback happens also for MasterPagenot only update panel embedded page .I want to prevent this MasterPage postback . is this possible ?think like i have a MasterPage and another page which is test.aspx which is content page of MasterPagei have update panel at test.aspxwhen asynchronous postback happens at this test.aspx update panel it also loads MasterPage Page_Loadi want to prevent this (it should not also load MasterPage Page_Load)
Dim iCounter as Integer Dim iQuantity as Integer = 10 Protected Sub btnFoo_Click Handles btnFoo Yadda For i as Integer = iCounter to iQuantity - 1 //do something with AsyncPostBackTrigger until iCounter = iQuantity - 1 //then trigger a full postback Next End Sub
I am new to the concept and feel like there must be something really easy that I am missing.
I implemented the AsyncFileUpload control on a web page. This web page requires uploaded files to appear in a gridview. The gridview contains the following columns: "File Name", "Confidential" Check Box, and a "Remove" button to remove the uploaded file.
Since the AsyncFileUpload postback does not do a full page postback, I need to "force" a postback on the OnClientUploadComplete event of the AsyncFileUpload control in order to render the gridview after uploading a file. In the OnClientUploadCompleteevent, I use javascript to call __doPostBack. In this postback, I only bind my gridview and display the file information (I don't re-save the file).
The problem: On the AsyncFileUpload's first "partial" postback, the file is successfully uploaded, as expected. On the second postback that I force with __doPostBack, the file is re-uploaded. You can verify this by using Google Chrome, which displays the upload progress. The behaviour is as follows: After selecting the file, the progress increments from 0% to 100% and the file is uploaded. After this, the __doPostBack executes, and you can see the upload progress increment again from 0% to 100%.
How can I make sure the Gridview is properly populated, but that the file is not uploaded twice?
I attached a sample solution which contains the issue:
I'm using jquery tab and following js method, how and what can i modify it to maintain state of tab between postbacks? (This resets tabs to first tab after page_load)
I have several dynamic usercontrols that I want to load them in separete tab panles.but my problem is when the postback occures my usrecontrols diapeare.however I want to keep my usercontrols in each tab panle in each postback.I mention that I write code in c#.
