View 1 RepliesWhen I auto format cshtml files (Ctrl+K, Ctrl+D), the {} of an if/foreach/for don't line up under the @if correctly

Is this being fixed? Just a note that in my small example, it isn't bad. But if the @if is really indented, the braces are way far to the left.

View 1 RepliesSomething "weird" is happening with my ASP.NET application. I have a MasterPage with WebForms, and inside one of them, I have an ASP TextBox which is controlled by the MaskedEditExtender/MaskedEditValidator couple. Underneath, I have a GridView with 2 columns, an Edit ASP Command Field, an ItemTemplate which contains an ASP ImageButton with a Delete CommandName linked to a GridViewDelete Event through the OnRowDeleting attribute. The GridView is binded with SQL Server data while the page is loading.
It appears that once the page is loaded, if I want to delete a row by clicking on the ASP ImageButton, nothing appears. I have first to do something else with the GridView (raise an Edit Event for example), then it's accessible. I try different stuff to catch the source of the problem, and the "weird" part appeared when I deleted the MaskedEditValidator, just keeping the MaskedEditExtender : the Delete ASP ImageButton worked since the page loads!
I have a couple of powershell command that are very simple.
disable-mailbox dadelgad -confirm:$false
enable-mailbox -identity 'dadelgad' -database 'NET5014DB10' -Alias 'dadelgad'
The first command is to disable an exchange mailbox and the second enables the mailbox. I am logged in as a user who is in the Organization Management group which has full admin priviledges to Exchange but is not a domain admin. If I run these commands directly in Powershell, they work fine but they do not work when called from C#.
I created a very simple windows forms app that has a couple of buttons that invokes these commands from C# code. Running the app as the user with full Exchange right, most commands work with no problem such as get-mailbox -identity 'dadelgad'. I can set flags in Exchange, add alias emails and do most functions but I cannot disable or enable an account.Do I need to be a domain admin to do these functions. It almost seems like a permission issue but the user has full rights to Exchange and can perform both of these commands directly in Powershell.
Suppose the Gridview on the page is for showing the detail records of the Header master record on the same page. How to disable the "Edit" within the Gridview? I would like to disable the "choose" in the Popup of the Gridview and also to disable any buttons of that.
View 1 RepliesI'm trying to create a ShoutBox for my site, and for those of you who are not familiar with shoutboxes, they are chat boxes on websites that users can post live messages on, and the other uses will see their message and be able to respond. I didn't find any good ones online, so I started to write my own. I'm doing it with an XML, but I want the user to be able to post messages using a textbox I added (txtMessage) and the button (cmdPostMessage), which should add a new item to the XML file, and all the other uses will receive that message (their xmlDataSource and the DataList will PostBack every second or something like that). It is able to read messages, but not send.I am however facing three problems:
1- I need to find a way for the user's input to be added to the XML.
2- I need to find a way for the current logged-in username to be found, and added to the XML, and also detect if no user is logged in, in which case the user wil receive an alert saying "Please log in to post messages to the ShoutBox" and redirect them to the login page.
Here is the text in the XML

View 3 Repliesusing c# I am entering two types of string in a text box for eg "so-123456" or "12345678" only this two formats are allowed to enter, when i enter only 12345678 i.e, without "so" next textbox in that page should be enabled, if i enter "SO-123456" textbox should be disabled. without any click event i.e, while entering text in 1st textbox if it contains "so" textbox2 should be disabled, if textbox1 contains only integer(123456) textbox2 should be enabled.

View 5 RepliesThere are a lot of post about how to disable the Enter key in a one-line Textbox, but non of them works if you put the Textbox inside an asp:panel.I assume there are multiple eventhandlers on the keypress event on a Textbox if it is inside a panel. So I would have to add my own handler at the end of the list somehow.
View 4 RepliesIf a control is disabled (enabled = false), will the validator controls associated with it automatically know not to carry out validation?i have a checkbox and a textbox, if the checkbox is checked, the textbox is enabled, and has to have a value, where i used a required field validator.but if the checkbox is not checked, textbox is then disabled, however, the validator controls still seem to be trying to validate the disabled textbox.so is there a way to disable validator according to textbox's state? such as textbox.enable = true? seems like causevalidation method requires multiple button, owever i only need one...
View 7 RepliesI've tried a few methods to get around this however none seem to work, whether its something to do with rendering or compiling Im not sure (both of which I have little knowledge in how they work). The problem is when the 'add new user' page is first loaded, the Page_load event gets the currentuser to ensure they are logged in and they have the correct authorisation. From this the textboxes where you would specify a new Username and Password are automatically populated with the current users details. I have not set anything to do so and in contrast Im tryin to get a way to stop it.
I've tried endless ways to get around it, things from jsut specifying the textboxes are empty or null to telling the textbox to remove all characters at character start int 0 (remove method). I'll give a few examples, they might not have been fully programmed write or maybe Im not utilising the methods as intended.
1. txtUsername.text = ""
2. txtUsername.text = null
3. if (txtUsername.Text == obj.Username || txtNewPassword.Text == obj.AdminPassword)
{
txtUsername.Text.Remove(0);
txtNewPassword.Text.Remove(0);
}
(tried && instead of || to)
4. if (txtUsername.Text == obj.Username || txtNewPassword.Text == obj.AdminPassword)
{
txtUsername.Text.Replace(Convert.ToChar(obj.Username), Convert.ToChar("Enter New Username"));
txtNewPassword.Text.Replace(Convert.ToChar(obj.AdminPassword), Convert.ToChar("Enter Password"));
}
5. if (txtUsername.Text == obj.Username.ToString() || txtNewPassword.Text == obj.AdminPassword.ToString() || txtUsername.Text != null && txtNewPassword.Text != null)
{
String.IsNullOrEmpty(txtUsername.Text);
String.IsNullOrEmpty(txtNewPassword.Text);
}
There are more, like if txtUsername visible then make the text = "" etc, so im thinking its probably something specific. Here is the page and script code below: .ASPX:

I having a two radio button. When the second radio button is enabled, a text box which accept the email id will appear. I am validating the Email using Regular expression validator.
When the second radio button is clicked, and I enter the invalid email id so that it shows me and error. But when I click the first radio button, it is showing the save validation. I need this to not show the validation when the first radio button is clicked and invalid email id is there in the text box.
how can I disable the single quote, greater than and less than character when typing it into textbox.
And also prevent the copy, paste that character into textbox.
I am working with odbcCommand class, in one case I got error that QueryTimeout Expired. Even though this SP is taking only 3-4 secs in DB to execute these specific values, When I set the CommandTimeout=0, then it worked fine.
1)Is it necessary to always use this property while working with Command Class.
2)If it is not suggested to use, but still if I use it then how it will impact the performance.
Below is my code sample.
OdbcConnection conObj;
OdbcCommand cmdObj;
OdbcDataAdapter daObj = new OdbcDataAdapter();
public DataTable GetIFAContractNoteData(string RecipientIDIFACN, DateTime BatchDateIFACN, int TransmittalReportIDIFACN) {
conObj = new OdbcConnection(GlobalVariables.strDsnName + ";" + GlobalVariables.strDsnDataBase + ";" + GlobalVariables.strDsnUserID + ";" + GlobalVariables.strDsnPassword);

Using above code, I got succeeded in printing PDF file through command line. But it runs the Acrobat Reader and opens Save dialog box.
In my case, I want to suppress Save dialog box and save the file on other location using c# coding. I mean I want to save a PDF file behind the scene.
I have developing ASP.Net Website and has a Webform with lots of controls. I have so many different controls on my page like buttons, textboxes, etc.
Now what happens is that generally on any form, when user hits Enter Key, it fires the first default button's click event or if focus is on any button, it fires that button click. I want to avoid this.
When user hits enter key on form basically nothing should happen. But let's say if he is entering into multiline textbox, that enter key should work to go to next line in that textbox.
I tried this.
[Code]....
but the problem is that then it disabled enter key for everything. But what I am looking for is that to avoid any button click event or any other postback to happen when user hits enter key while being on form anywhere. But Enter key should work when it is inside textbox or inside any such control.
when i click on the checkbox in the gridview column1 the textbox column4 should be enabled author wise textbox should be disabled...........
