eg : string abc = "<input type="text" id="field"+i+" " />";
above string i have displayed in front end thrgh response.write i.e by assigning string abc to viewstate. also i am tryin to genetrate above input fields from database , so i have to make it dynamic in a loop. so when a user updates any of those dynamically created fields i need to retreive those values in a loop
something like this :
field1.text , field2.text ......so on till fieldn.text ....i want to assign these values to array
like :
string[] arr1 = new string[nooffields];
arr1[i] = fieldi.text;

Jan 1, 2010I'm trying to make a form where the text boxes and titles for each box are created dynamically based on how many array values there are. I have tried a repeater but am a little unclear on how I can get the texbox to bind to one area of and the title to bind to another. This is what I have so far:

This works and adds values where container.dataitem is but how to I make it add one set of array values there and another set of array values where the *x* is?

Some fields get updated periodincally thus there is no data in those fields in the database until some time.
A strange thing happens.When filling data some text boxes gets a one tab spacing .

The problem I have is when I populate the textboxes with the data that is in the DB, they do not show the values. The strange thing is If I change the property of textboxes ReadOnly to TRUE, they show the values. The problem is that I need them to be ReadOnly=FALSE.

May 18, 2015I'm going to have a textbox on my ASPX page - where users can enter a number between 1-50.
Based on their selection, I'd like to add three textboxes for each number and number them appropriately.
I'd like three textboxes for each "number", so for example, the fields would be:
Name1, PIN1, Desc1
Name2, Pin2, Desc2
Name3, Pin3, Desc3
...
So, how do I, at runtime, add these fields to my page?
Secondly, This form, upon submittal, creates a configuration file on my server currently in the format of

[/FIELD2]
[FIELD3]
FieldThree.Value
[/FIELD3]
With those fields, it's rather easy, as the form has static controls that I'm looking up and sending to my file.
How would I add the dynamic controls to the file as well? Obviously, if they've selected to add 10 fields, I don't want 40 other fields of blank/nothing (since they can choose to add up to fifty). How would I iterate only adding the fields that they've chosen?

C# - Update SQL Database With Values From Text Boxes
Jun 6, 2010User enters values into text boxes (personal information etc.) and then presses a save changes button. The values in these text boxes get stored in an SQL database. The problem I have is that when updating the database using the values from the text boxes, the page refreshes and the values in the text boxes are lost (or rather they return to the values that are already in the database as the data from the database is loaded into the text boxes on Page_Load). When I update the database using valuse stored in variables it all works fine. What is the best way to update with the values from the text boxes?

I have created a web application to insert data into SQL database using T_SQL and stored procedures as I needed to update several tables at the same time. The design of a particular page is using text boxes and dropdown list's and not the default gridviews or details view as I wanted the page structure set out in a particular way. Anyways I now want to create an update page which I will get redirected to from a search page.My question is how do I assign the column values to text boxes or Dropdown lists from my Select statement. I was thinking of having a event in the page load method. Sort of like this 'Select InvoiceID, Invoicetype, Notes FROM TblInvoice Where Invoicenumber = @Invoicenumber " the parameter value @Invoicenumber will be assigned via the search page so I will also need to pull that in on the page load event. So my page would look something like this if say the:-

I tried Request.Params.Get("simpleTextBox"); but it returns error "Sorry, an error occurred while processing your request.".

May 13, 2010I know this has got to be the simplest-sounding question ever asked about ASP.Net but I'm baffled. I have a form wherein my visitor will enter name, address, etc. Then I am POSTing that form via the PostBackUrl property of my Submit button to another page, where the fields are supposed to be all re-formed into new hidden fields, then POSTed again to Paypal.
My problem is I cannot get at the values entered by the visitor in the original page. Any time I put in "runat='server'", ASP.Net completely changes the ID of the control, making it impossible to figure out how to access. In the POSTed form I tried Request.Form["_txtFirstName"] and that turned up null. Then I tried ((TextBox)PreviousPage.FindControl("_txtFirstName")).Text and that was null, too. I've tried variations on those. I cannot figure out how I'm supposed to get at these controls. Why does this stuff need to be so difficult?
