View 2 RepliesI'm trying to create a web server control with a css embedded in the assembly.
I marked it as an embedded resource, add assembly attribute to reference it and use the proper methods to include the link to that
css in html code... my page renders ok witk something like <link href='/WebResources.axd?....' />
That's when the problem appears! My control isn't using the css as it appears to not found webResources.axd
I tried directly in web browser to locate http://locahost/mysite/WebResources.axd and it came with http code 404 NOT FOUND
In my IIS i have uncheked "Verify if file exists" on my extensions mapping related to .axd I add HEAD verb in Web.Config to path WebResources.axd and the result is always the same
i have a very strange error.i get parser error Parser Error Message: The resource object with key 'TopnavHome' was not found.this is the code: [Code]....
BUT, if i do this: [Code]....
I have a database already working with Godaddy (sql server). I use it to store membership feature information for my website. Im developing the site in VS 2008 with Visual Basic language. Site works fine when running from VS. When I upload the site to godaddy withe default.aspx as the home page, I get a server 500 error, Here is my web.config -

Note: As an alternative to hand editing this file you can use the web admin tool to configure settings for your application. Use the Website->Asp.Net Configuration option in Visual Studio. A full list of settings and comments can be found in machine.config.comments usually located i

View 1 RepliesI'm asking these questions for a client of mine...
Can you use asp.net and a ms sql db with GoDaddy?
Do they make it hard to leave them?
10 years ago I took over admin control of my own website that I have with networksolutions. When I change from one isp to another I simply make my own changes to the url with networksolutions and direct it at any old server I want.
I have deployed my website/app on GoDaddy hosting and am getting this Internal server error message only when trying to view the /stats folderI have forms authentication on, and when I try and visit this folder I get redirected to my CMS login page which is really strange. When I disable authentication I then get this internal server error.Anyone ever experience something like this? GoDaddy support don't and never seem to a have a clue about anything.
View 1 RepliesI have a site. Net published to a server, when I make changes to a single page, compile and publish an application, and copy only the page that change on the server a problem occurs on an assembly that is not, how do I make a partial publication? (Only the page where I made the changes)
View 2 RepliesI have recently upgraded to VS 2010 and converted my web site into a web application. Now, when I attempt to build, I receive the error:
Resource name '<name>.Resources.resources' cannot be used more than once.
There is no page name or anything, and I have completely exhausted all that Google has to offer.
i want to create automated web based book publication system.My company is publishing reports which is written in words. & there is lots of hassel on formatting word document.So we want to develop system where different users can loged into system then create different chapters & different parts within that chapters.Can anyone suggest any opensource project or any guidelines to achieve the things mentioned above
View 1 RepliesI am currently localizing my MVC website, using the Html.Encode method.
I've got a global resouce named "Localization" and using it by e.g. <%= Html.Encode(Resources.Localization.FirstName) %>
When compiled and viewing in the browser it works perfectly, but in VS 2008 Development Edition it marks it red and displays Cannot resolve symbol 'Resources' when hovering it.
i used differnet different culture global resource files in my project. in the local host myapplication run perfectly but if in the live(web) it raises below error.i dont why this error is comingServer Error in '/' Application.
View 6 RepliesI attempted to find any information in regards to best practices of handling errors inside of a HttpModule unfortunately I can't seem to find any information on Google in regards to this.
All the information I've found all pertains in how to use the global.asax or a custom http module to log errors which is completely not pertinent.
Edit: Clearly this question has been misunderstood. I am seeking information regarding software patterns that are employed to prevent a HttpModules from faulting, triggering custom errors redirection, and faulting again causing infinite exception chains until IIS shuts down the thread entirely.
This however is very nontrivial since the HttpSessionState collection can't be depended on for the life cycle of HttpModules. Since error conditions have already occurred it would be improper to expect that I could read the ASP.NET session cookie to get an identifier that I could store user specific data in the application cache. Storing data in the HttpRequest.Items collection would be pointless since that in no way exists across multiple requests.
I'm making changes to some xxx.resources files on our web server, everytime I try and copy the new file out to the server I keep getting the error:
'the process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.'
I get this for about 20 minutes or so after I check the web site. Is there another way to update/copy the xxx.resources file on the web server without waiting 20 minutes or so to do so?
I'm doing a tutorial for error logging. It seems to be pretty basic. Everything works the way it should but I get an error I did not expect in my error log. The error says file not found for favicon.ico. From what I've read this is a file for the icon that would appear in the address bar, to the left of the url. I don't understand why I'm getting this error. I have no code that does this or references this file. It happens when I run the app in chrome and in firefox. Does the browser automatically look for this file to display to the left of the url? Is it automatically looking for this file as part of it's normal routine when loading a page?
View 3 RepliesI have added an assembly(GAC DLL) in my web.config, but if someone does not installed my assembly, the web page can still work without error or successfully running in visual studio debugger?
View 6 RepliesI come from a VB environment. I'm looking at 2 different file extensions. If one doesn't exist look at the next. I was hoping to use the try/catch function. I can get it to find the first extension but not the second. Here is my the try/catch part of code:
try
{
string website = xAll;
Response.Redirect(website);
}
catch (FileNotFoundException)
{
string website1 = xAll1;
Response.Redirect(website1);
}
The error dialog that pops up shows Connection Error in the title and a yellow exclamation point with File Not Found! I thought the FileNotFoundException would work(?).
My website was running perfectly without errors both on IIS and VS2013. Now today it stopped working in IIS 7 but working on VS2013. when i explore it using localhost/bsd then it gave this error :
XML Parsing Error: no element foundLocation: http://localhost/BSD/Builder.aspxLine Number 1, Column 1:
This error goes same for all page while accessing from IIS Localhost
As you can see in picture , I surfed internet and found these two :
[URL] ....
[URL] ....
but none of them worked for me.
When i run the applicayion in my local machine i get following error XML Parsing Error: no element foundLocation: URL...
View 1 RepliesI just upgraded my blog [URL] to BlogEngine 1.6.1 (from 1.6.0) in order to use the reCaptcha extension. I upgraded my local code from 1.6.0 to 1.6.1, then published via FTP through WebMatrix. After the upgrade, I am getting this error:
Compiler Error Message: CS0433:
The type 'Resources.labels' exists in both
'c:windowsMicrosoft.NETFrameworkv2.0.50727Temporary ASP.NET Files
oot9fd92f8745a2ba06assemblydl3a64307f6f14811b8_0291cb01App_GlobalResources.DLL'
and
'c:windowsMicrosoft.NETFrameworkv2.0.50727Temporary ASP.NET Files
oot9fd92f8745a2ba06App_GlobalResources.md7pit6m.dll'
The source file and line number where it breaks varies, but it is always the same basic message. What differs is the "md7pt66m" section of the App_GlobalResources.md7pit6m.dll (the second file path in the error message). I was able to fix the error locally by deleting the Temporary ASP.NET Files, but I can't do this on my hosting server (GoDaddy). Is there something I can do to fix the error? Based on suggestions from the codeplex discussion page, I have edited web.config file in order to cycle the app pool, and renamed BlogEngine.Core.dll to BlogEngine.Core2.dll and then back in order to restart the blog. I have also added batch="false" to the <compilation> tag in web.config (based on this post). I have turned custom errors off, so you can see the error on my site now.
The object cannot be deleted because it was not found in the ObjectStateManager error ...
[Code]....
I have a page that have a combobox and a button, when the user select something from the combobox and hit the Go button they are redirected to the page with the desired variable.
[Code]....
The problem appears when the page was not used from more than 20 minutes and the user select something from the comboBox and hit Go Button the receive a page indicating the Error 404.The only thing that I try is to use a javascript code that Refresh the page every 15 minutes but is not nice to see a page refreshing without a reason.If someone can have a way to identify what can be done in this problem, Its going to be a huge help.
I'm very, very new to the asp.net world and I was running through the create the movie db tutorial that is located in the learn asp.net mvc section of this website. Everything is fine until I create my home controller and edit it like on the site. Here is the first part of the code I have that has the error in it:
privateMoviesDBEntities _db = new MoviesDBEntities();
This is all on one line in visual studio but i get an error saying that the type or namespace 'MoviesDBEntities' could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?). I have checked the spelling and I have the using MovieApp.Models; up above so if anyone has any insight that would be great.
I have also tried performing the manager contact sheet tutorial and get the same error in this section of the code.
i am new to using AJAX.I am using Visual Web Developer 2010 and I followed all the steps given on the http://www.asp.net/ajaxlibrary/act.ashx website to install AJAX.However, when I try to run my website,I get an error:
"Could not find any resources appropriate for the specified culture or the neutral culture. Make sure "AjaxControlToolkit.Properties.Resources.resources" was correctly embedded or linked into assembly "AjaxControlToolkit" at compile time, or that all the satellite assemblies required are loadable and fully signed."
I have a website which has both html and aspx pages. for aspx pages i have added code in customerror section in web.config and is working fine, but only in case of aspx pages. I want if somebody looks for html page which does not exist should also be taken to error page.[URL]( What about html pages section) will only work if the site is hosted at my servers, but in my case the website is hosted somewhere else.
