Web Forms :: How To Access Linkbutton At Gridview Row Command Event Without Using Commandname
Dec 12, 2011
I want to access linkbutton at rowcommand event which is in footer and without commandname.
Actually i have a linkbutton in empty data templates footer template. At the rowcommand name of this linkbutton i want to access other linkbutton to change its commandname.
And then I try to add some dynamic controls into the placehold control from code behind, I use the RowDataBound Event
Private Sub GridView1_RowDataBound(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Web.UI.WebControls.GridViewRowEventArgs) Handles GridView1.RowDataBound Dim ph As PlaceHolder = CType(e.Row.Cells(1).FindControl("PlaceHolder"), PlaceHolder)[code]....
The problem is the button CommandName is not functioning. And more strangely, if I add the button manually into the placeholder, like this: Grivdivew ItemTemplate PlaceHolder[code]....
I have a user control that is dynamically added to a placeholder control inside an update panel in my main page. The user control has a linkbutton where I try to handle its Command event. The first time the link button is clicked after the user control loads, the form posts back but the command event handler does not execute, although the user control is still on the screen. The second and subsequent times the link button is clicked it works perfectly. When the user control first loads and I mouse over the link button, the browser status bar says: javascript: __doPostBack('ctl08$lbTest',''). After the first click, when I mouseover the link button the browser status bar shows javascript:__doPostBack('ctl07$lbTest',''). Why the changed in id, I can't figure but it must be why it is not hitting the event handler the first time it's clicked. Here is the cs code that loads the user control:
I have a series of link buttons in a repeater that switch pages
<asp:Repeater ID="rptPageLinks" runat="server"><ItemTemplate> <asp:LinkButton ID="lnkNewPage" runat="server" Text='<%# Eval("Page") %>' OnCommand="SomeEventHandler" CommandArgument='<%# Eval("Page") %>' CommandName="Redirect" OnClientClick="return confirm('Do you want to save your chanes before you navigate to a new page?');" /> </ItemTemplate></asp:Repeater>
What I want to be able to do is pass the result from the OnClientClick into the EventHandler, ideally by changing the CommandName (i.e. if they click 'yes' on the confirmation it changes the CommandName to "SaveAndRedirect", if they click 'no' it stays as 'Redirect').
why the gridview RowDataBound event fires during a select command. I only expect it to run when the gridview is being populated with data. Is there some way to stop it from running when the select command is triggered?
i use a wizard in my page the first step contains a Gridview.
[Code]....
It runs very well until i use the Gridview paging. In this case i get following error-message."Unable to cast object of type 'System.Web.UI.WebControls.Wizard' to type 'System.Web.UI.WebControls.GridViewRow'." If i use this code to get the gridview-rowDim row As GridViewRow = _ grid.Rows(Convert.ToInt32(e.CommandArgument)) paging runs, but i cannot use the commandDropdown.This is my control. I use commanddorpdown [Code]....
I have downloaded the Control form this page. [URL]19606_On_ASP_NET_Forums_How_to_develop_a_command_capable_DropDownList.aspxHas anybody an idea to solve my problem?
So I have a GridView control with autogenerated column set to true, it also has autogenerated Edit and Delete buttons, sorting and paging, and also I am binding this same gridview to multiple data sources at runtime. All is working well.
Now I am adding a dynamically generated footer row at runtime. This footer row will allow users to add new record regardless which data source it binds to. So it is working as well except there's a small bug I couldn't figure out why. It's when I navigate to the last page of the gridview, if the rows on the last page is less than the page size, for example, I have page size 10 and the rows in last page is 9, then when I click the 'Add' linkbutton, the Add event does not fire, instead, it fill the last page with additional blank rows, that means if the last page has 5 rows, it will fill 5 blank rows below, if it has 9 rows, it will fill 1 blank row below. Then if you click the add again, it will work. If the last page already has 10 rows then, it works just fine.
Below is the code I used to dynamically add footer row:
I have a GridView with a couple of buttons (asp:Button) in it (last row). Both of them have a CommandName attribute on them and this is handled server side in a grid_RowCommand event handler. Now, this works fine. However, I need to add client side code (Javascript/jQuery) to disable the two buttons when someone clicks on or the other. This is to prevent the user from double-clicking and creating potential havoc.
The way I have done this is by adding OnClientClick on both buttons which calls a javascript function that uses jQuery to disable the two buttons. This works fine, it's just that the page doesn't post back and so the RowCommand event handler never fires.
I have a LinkButton inside a GridView (via an TemplateField). No matter what I try, the LinkButton will not invoke its event handler. I have tried both traditional event handler ("OnClick")A OnRowCommand event handler at the GridView level.In both cases, I've debugged and it doesn't even catch the event handler.
Im working with asp.net i have created grid view for entering some data with one button present in it ,on clicking that i will get another grid view ..im unable to findout the row index of the first gridview in the row command event
In my user control I have gridview, and this grid is created programmatically, using Itemplate. In InstantiateIn methods I have this code.
Select Case _templateType Case ListItemType.Header Dim linkButton As New LinkButton [code]....
I want to wired up Click event to this LinkButton, and use this event in code behind.This is constructor of GridViewTemplate how implements ITemplate
Public Sub New(ByVal type As ListItemType, ByVal colname As String, Optional ByVal infoType As String = "") 'Stores the template type. _templateType = type 'Stores the column na [code]....
and i have this call from user control:bfield.ItemTemplate = New GridViewTemplate(ListItemType.Item, dt.Columns(col).ColumnName, "label")
where is Dim bfield As TemplateField = New TemplateField()
I have a gridview where, when the user clicks the row, a modal form is shown and values are passed back to the calling function. This works just fine. However, now I have the requirement that instead of clicking the entire row, they want to just click a link button on the row (not the entire row) and get this same functionality. I am new to JQuery and cannot figure out how to select the link button inside the gridview in order to attach my function to it. Also, once I have that figured out, how do I get values from the Link Button's row to pass to my modal form? Here is my jquery function which works fine for the row-click:
$(document).ready(function() { // set the background color of selected gridview row $("#<%=gridResults.ClientID%> tr").click(function() { $(this).css("background-color", "PowderBlue");
[Code].....
I would like to add a field like this to my gridview and attach the above functin to it:
I have a gridview in my web page. I have boundcolumn,checkboxcolumn and a linkbutton column. The commandName of the linkbutton column is "Select" The name of the template checkbox is "chkSwapSelect". I want to check the checkbox of the linkbutton clicked row. When i click the linkbutton of the gridview RowCommand Event fires
if e.commandName="Select" then Dim index as integer=Integer.Parse(e.CommandArgument) Dim row as GridVIewRow=dgvAllocation.rows(index) dim chk as checkbox chk=new checkbox chk=ctype(row.FindControl("chkSwapSelect"),checkbox) // chk returns nothing chk.checked=true // object reference not set to an instance of the object end if
The errors are shown as comments in the above code. finding the controls inside a gridview via RowCommand Event
I have searched around but unable to find a solution that will work. I have a link button that is created dynamically during the page load. It is given an ID (obviously). There is a script manager on the page. I have the controls added to a panel in the updatepanel (updatePanel1). There is a dynamic label that is also created with each link button. I can get a response from the linkbutton click event during a postback on the second time clicking the linkbutton, but I am getting a complete postback instead of the asyncpostback for that control. During the creation of the dynamic linkbuttons, I am also creating a dynamic trigger for each button and adding it to the updatePanel1. The Click event is not firing the method without doing a complete page postback.
How do I access GridView Page Index in RowDataBound event? I am assigning PageIndex to hyperlink on the gridview, for this I was planning to use "GridView1.PageIndex" in rowdatabound event. Problem is when I got second page in gridview (10 rows per page), the first row in the page shows page index as "0" and from second row it becomes 1. And if I goto third page, the first row in the page shows page index as "1" and from second row it becomes 2.
how would i do my Gridview delete command like a update command?
im using a datasource... and my delete command is like my update command... so i can change the status into "INACTIVE"...
DeleteCommand="UPDATE ACCOUNT_MAINTENANCE SET am_status = 'INACTIVE' WHERE (accmain_no = @accmain_no)"
UpdateCommand="UPDATE [ACCOUNT_MAINTENANCE] SET [account_type] = UPPER(@account_type), [min_deposit] = @min_deposit, [min_capital] = @min_capital WHERE [accmain_no] = @accmain_no"
when i press my delete command at gridview... the status changed into "INACTIVE" but when i refresh or press f5... it automatically update the status into "INACTIVE" also...
