I am loading tabs (using ajaxcontrol tookit) dynamically and populating UserControls and inside tabs.
Now, I have only the below code in aspx. How to maintain the tab focus?

When the user pushes the Button, I'd like to display a modal dialog box to capture a couple of values from text boxes and submit these values to the server. When the modal box is shown, I'd like the cursor to be placed in the txtFirst textbox. How do I do this? I've had trouble with registerscript commands before, so if one is needed, I hope the syntax, if you provide it, is correct.

Also, how could I change the above code so that the modal dialog was displayed as a result of a selection of a dropdownlist item? If I set the targetcontrolid="DropDownList1", the dialog box is display when it drops rather than when a selection is made

In my application i use iframe (to be more specific; Greybox tool). Sometimes i had an unkown error when i open page in iframe. Then i applied this fix : [URL] and that unknown error disseppeared. But i have another problem now:( I am using following script to focus to the first textbox whenever my input pages are opened in iframe.

After i applied previous fix, i get this error when i load page in iframe for the first time :
Can't move focus to the control because it is invisible, not enabled, or of type that does not accept focus.
Here, txt_PID doesnt contain any ajaxtoolkit things. (also Enabled= true and Visible=true etc.) . Last thing, my current test page contains just 3 controls: txt_PID just plain Asp.TextBox ajaxHTMLEditor another textboxt with MaskedEditExtender. If i remove HTMLEditor from page; i dont get that error( Can't move focus...) and also i dont get first error which i applied that fix in toolkit.
How can I maintain focus to a textbox which is placed inside a usercontroll while on postback.

I want to provide instant filtering of data by adding a textbox below the column header when the column shall be filterable. There is a jQuery based solution for this on the net, but it's totally client side and doesn't work with paging, so i tried it on my own.

I've also overridden the DoFilterPostBackEventProcessing method to create a "[ColumnName] LIKE '%[textbox.value]%'" filterExpression for my datasource which also creates the LIKEFILTER_COLUMN and LIKEFILTER_VALUE ViewState Items so i can identify the textbox that should refocus on after the postback. The filtering itself works great, but whatever i try, i am not able to set the focus to the textbox after entering the first letter.

All these four methods don't work. The registerstartupscript call doesn't even render the script when i search the page source after postback. I also tried to add a HiddenField to my webpart and set it's value to the control id of the textbox in onfocus, then register a startupscript in OnLoad that focuses the control if the HiddenField has a value, but to no avail.
i have three textboxes in a page and one datagird and 1 timer control, i have 2 update panels.
i placed (all textboxes) in one update panel and i placed (data gird and timer control) in an other update panel, because i want to reset or clear all fields when cancel button is clicked so that update panel should be updated,and where timer control tick event is fired i rebind the gird or refresh the gird, i have done this and it works properly but problem is that when i am going to write some text in any textbox or i want to focus on any text box it should lost focus when timer control tick event is fired so how can i maintain focus, or even how can i get focus of current control and after firing of timer control tick event i should reassing focus of such control

I have four controls in a page with update panel.Initially mouse focus is set to first control.when I partially post back the page to server the focus automatically moves to first control from the last focused control from the control I have tabbed down to.Is there any way to maintain the last focus?

Now each time a the new tab load there is a flicker and tab positions change. Is there a way to arrange them just like windows tabs so that they all are in one container and get justified everytime i click the new tab.

I used the AjaxToolkit AutoComplete today. It works fine. But what I hate is that I have to use the "CompletionSetCount" at 5 or 6 only so it doesn't reach the following textbox on my form.
The problem is that the dropdownlist of the AutoComplexeExtender gets under my textboxes, so it hides some items of the list.
When I try to play with the z-order of the "CompletionListCssClass" or "CompletionListItemCssClass", then the list appearance is all messed up
After publishing the solution from Windows XP, the AJAX pro tool are not working after being deployed to Windows Server 2008.
How can I solve this problem?

This is what I see when I click on arrow which is an image in DropArrowImageUrl - UI is weird. Changing image does not help. I am sure that it should be a common problem. Code is very simple:

I have replaced my asp:ScriptManager control with ajaxToolkit:ToolkitScriptManager with attribute CombineScripts="true".

On running the application, i see the ComboBox but none of the list items are visible. Clicking on the dropdown button does not show anything also. Accessing the SelectedItem property shows that the first item is selected.
I am creating a nested accordion in the code behind which is populated from my data table. The requirenment is
1. Main Accordin - create department Panes
2. sub accordin - Each department pane has a accordin in the contnet are.
3. sub accordin panes - people from that department show up as panes in sub accordin.
I was able to impelment this model but the problem is that the sub accordin ( with people) would not slide. First one is opened by default and i see hand on the other header panes but they dont slide (up and down). They do have a content though. P.S - if i implement the same nested according in aspx it works fine. My code

Update - I found that I get "Microsoft JScript runtime error: Sys.ArgumentException: Value must not be null for Controls and Behaviors.Parameter name: element" javascript error when i try to create the nested accordin.

View 12 RepliesHow can I achieve hover effect for the ajaxtoolkit combobox. I just need an outline for the entire combo i.e. outline for combo-textbox and combo-button when hovering over the combobox otherwise it should return to the normal outline color.
I could only get the hovering effect for combo-textbox alone and that too an outline creates at outer of the existing combo-textbox outline.
BTW: how can I attach an image from my desktop?

I have an Accordion control that is populated dynamically. I want to catch the event raised when a new pane is clicked on to open. I don't see the event at all in intelli-sense and when I code it by hand anyways I get errors. Is there any way to catch this event? The goal is to let a control in the masterpage that is holding the Accordion know when the Accordion has changed so it can update another control.
