Web Forms :: How To Place Code In Javascript And Make It Unreadable For The User
Mar 17, 2011
For performance reasons, I would like to put some code in javascript but am concerned that a user may pick up some proprietary formulas. Is it even possible to hide it or scramble it to the user?
I am currently building an asp.net webforms application in ASP.NET C# using Visual studio 2008 and the Framework .NET 3.5.In my application main page, I use some javascript code to make AJAX calls to different handlers (.ashx files) in order to get some information.In this handlers définition (in the CodeBehind), I use the Oracle provider for .NET (Oracle.DataAccess.Client) to get the requested information from an Oracle database.The thing is, when I make a first call to one of these handlers, everything works just fine, but when the main page try to repeat the call in order to update the information requested, I encounter a problem.In fact, it appears that the different Oracle SQL request results that were made during the first call are still in memory and that the requests are not repeated correctly in order to obtain the updated information from the database. The application keeps the first results and this is these results that are sent back to the main page once again.I don't know how to force the handler to obtain new results and work with it instead of working with the previous results.In the handlers définition, the IsReusable methods are all set to false.I have called the Dispose() méthods of every Oracle object at the hand of the handlers définition and then the System.GC.Collect() méthod to force Garbage Collection. But this does not seem to be sufficient to be sure that nothing is kept in memory.
I think I summed up the question in the title. Here is some further elaboration...I have a web user control that is used in multiple places, sometimes more than once on a given page.The web user control has a specific set of JavaScript functions (mostly jQuery code) that are containted within *.js files and automatically inserted into page headers.However, when I want to use the control more than once on a page, the *.js files are included 'n' number of times and, rightly so, the browser gets confused as to which control it's meant to be executing which function on.What do I need to do in order to resolve this problem? I've been staring at this all day and I'm at a loss.
However I'm not seeing center aligned text. What am I doing wrong? Also, will I need to make whatever changes to the JQuery .css files as well? Basically what I'm aiming for here is a single master page that I can use to hold all .css and javascript code so I don't have to reference it everywhere else.
I have an application where I make advanced engineering/science calculations.
The application consists of 25 equal calculation "lines" which I have made as user controls:
web form:
Code:
[code]....
However the performance is quite bad because each line load from a database. Each line becomes visible when the last line has been clicked so I only need in fact 2 lines to be loaded at the beginning.
Can I make a smart code where the next user controls loads instead of the HTML that I have made, where all 25 lines appears and loads but are not visible until the line before has been used?
This code works fine if i use this inside ssercontrol > panel and i have a checkboxes in table when no checkbox is checked its works fine .... but if i disabled and checked any of the textbox then this doesn't work .... in usercontrol why ? i didnt understand ..
<script type="text/javascript" language="javascript"> function checkboxChecked(){ var allInputs = document.getElementsByTagName("input"); for(var i=0; i<allInputs.length; i++) { var chk = allInputs[i]; if(chk.type == "checkbox" && !chk.disabled && chk.checked) {
return true; } } alert("OOps! You haven't selected all available checkboxes"); return false; } </script>
I wish to place a sub in the code behind of my master page, that will be used to assign variables used in the content pages based on query string values. I would like to see advice on general syntax as it relates to the relationship between master pages and their content pages.I would much rather pursue this route as opposed to repeating the same code on every content page.
I want to have only 1 placeholder on the page and depending on which buttons are pressed, different user controls are dynamically added. To add to the fun of everything, I need to pass in different values for each user control.
I know that in order to have the values passed into the different user controls and bind to a certain list it needs to happen in the Page_Init inside of the .ascx.cs file - aside from that, I am lost.
I am displaying a money values in a gridview. Is possible to use inline code to set the decimal places to two? Would like to do it inline instead of in the C# code behind if possible. Database table column [Rate] is datatype money.
My web app has one main page, which is like a work bench. Within this work bench I have 3 placeholders that I load 3 different user controls into (only displaying one at a time). It works, and loads ok although it is very slow.
For instance; Each user control has a 'New' button. when I click this it takes anywhere from 3-10 seconds just to refresh the page, and display all the original default values.
I gues there is a lot of info being sent/returend to/from the server (The main workbench page, and the usercontol), but it still seems to be taking way too long. I have a customer using my application, and they have raised the issue, and have even experienced delays of around 30 seconds for simple tasks.
I have walked through my code with the debugger in vs2010 and nothing seems to take a long time. I have also used Firbug to try and find out what is going on, along with setting Trace="true" on the page to try and resolve the issue. Its all just numbers to me, I have no idea what is going on.
to manually (via code) add a row to a GridView and then set it in edit mode immediately? I know how to set a row in edit mode via simply doing the following:
[Code]....
The GridView is currently binded to a generic list.
i have tested this code and it works great separately .. the only difference is on my project i have DIV, tables, TABs and ContentPlaceHolder. not sure if this can make this code not working.. i am not getting any error..but nothing is happening.
I have an asp.net page that exports some data to Microsoft Word 2003. The source of the data is what users have typed into an ajax control toolkit HtmlEditor on an input page. All works well unless the user has pasted text from a Word document into the HtmlEditor.
The html that is copied from Word looks like this:
<p class="MsoBodyText" style="margin: 0in 0in 0pt"><font color="#000000"><br /> The Blah Blah Blah of Southern California's blah blah qualify for a blah of "Rating" with a "hold" status. </font></p>
When the content is rendered in Word, it looks like this:
The Blah Blah Blah of Southern California’s blah blah qualify for a blah of “Rating†with a “hold†status.
Any help on this? I have no problem when I force the HTML into a div and show it on the page. It's only on the export to Word that it gets messed up. This happens whether I paste the Word text right into the HtmlEditor or use the Paste From MS Word (with cleanup) button.
I want to output some dynamic data from an ASP.NET website to Excel. I found that the easiest way which does not require to use Excel XML or to install Excel on server machine is to output data as a table and specify application/vnd.ms-excel type
I need to insert a declaration in the codebehind function below that will make the variable "UserId" equal to the "logged-in user". In what way do I need to change the code below (elsewhere in the project, I successfully make reference to basically the same code and make the UserId equal to logged-in user by using this handler expression inside an image control: ImageUrl ='<%# Eval("UserId","Image.aspx?UserId={0}")%>'...But in the case below, the function is not fired by this expression, but rather by CustomValidator).
Sub ValidateImage(ByVal source As Object, ByVal args As System.Web.UI.WebControls.ServerValidateEventArgs) If Request.QueryString("UserId") IsNot Nothing Then ' Get the connection string from Web.config. Using conn As New SqlConnection(ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings("MyDatabaseConnectionString").ToString()) ' Create a command object. Dim cmd As New SqlCommand() ' Assign the connection to the command. cmd.Connection = conn ' Appendy the parameter to the SqlCommand and set value. cmd.Parameters.Add("@UserId", SqlDbType.UniqueIdentifier).Value = Guid.Parse(Request.QueryString("UserId")) ' Set the command text ' SQL statement or the name of the stored procedure. cmd.CommandText = "SELECT Avatar FROM aspnet_Membership WHERE UserId = @UserId AND Avatar IS NOT NULL" ' Set the command type ' CommandType.Text for ordinary SQL statements; ' CommandType.StoredProcedure for stored procedures. cmd.CommandType = CommandType.Text ' Open the connection. conn.Open() ' Convert the returned result to a bytes array. Dim bytes As Byte() = DirectCast(cmd.ExecuteScalar(), Byte()) If bytes IsNot Nothing Then ' Set the HTTP MIME type of the output stream. Response.ContentType = "image/jpeg" ' Write a string of Binary characters to the HTTP ' output stream. Response.BinaryWrite(bytes) ' Send all currently buffered output to the client. Response.End() Else args.IsValid = False End If End Using End If End Sub
I'm building this small control. It should detect client resolution and set height and width values within two separated HtmlInputHidden controls. But tester property is not getting values froms this control.
[ToolboxData("<{0}:UIControlResolution runat=server></{0}:UIControlResolution>")] public class UIControlResolution : Control { HtmlInputHidden _txtwidth = new HtmlInputHidden(); HtmlInputHidden _txtheight = new HtmlInputHidden();
I want to move some parts of the html page containing this function to a new web user control. now "form1" is not defined and it is not working correctly without any error message!
I am getting a serialization error trying to use Session State Server instead of InProd. However, I can't figure out what is causing the error in session. I was given some code to add to the page to loop through the session object and figure out if each item in it is serializable. My problem is I don't know where to place the code in the ASP.NET page. In tracing through the code, the error just appears after steping through objects outside of the page and not when setting session. There must be some place that I can place the code on the page that is after all session objects are set but before the page will error. Where would that be?
I have some code in a button_click event in my webform that performs some actions (writing some xml files).But i wish to place all my XML code in 1 class within my webproject.But how do i exactly acces controls from my webform on this class?nd how do i link those 2 with each other?Ive tried inherit from System.Web.UI.Page in my class but seems thats not quite it.
I want to find a place to put my Google Analytics code in my ASP.NET web application. I would like to place it somewhere once and not have to copy and paste the code into multiple files. Is there somewhere that I could inject it that I would only have to include it once and all pages would be effected? I am not using MasterPages unfortunately.
I want to use this jquery script, basically i am using it as a sales goal progress bar, where the number before the span is the current sales. But my issue is my sales are going to be in asp.net labels not in plain text
I have a relatively simple page that will do most of its operations on the client side using Javascript or JQuery. However, initially I do need to retrieve some data from the DB server based on QueryString parameters.
I plan on passing this data in the form of a JSON string to the script by an old-fashioned ASP manner ( var severData = <%=MyPublicData %>) block where MyPublicData is defined in CodeBehind as:
Public string MyPublicData;
The question is, which event in the ASP.NET page lifecycle is the best for this? Page_Init ? Page_Load? Also, is it worth the effort to do this in ASP.NET MVC. I did look at this possiblity but it seemed a little too much for a simple page like this where I do more 90% of the work on the client.
