Web Forms :: How To Show The Computer User Into A Label In A Master Page

I'm creating a web site and I have this question, I installed a label with the name Userlbl in the master page, and the idea that I have, is when somebody opens the website, the label shows the computer's user, in my case Welcome: "Charly_csh"
I tried with this code, that I used before in access and it works, when I load the page on the localhost, but when I load on the server, it shows NETWORK SERVICE

I have a web user control book.ascx and a formview:

The HTML label control is on master page. And I want to access its value on other aspx.cs page. As there are many other control on the master page so i use the recursive function to access the value but NullReferenceException occurs... The code on aspx.cs page is as:

I have a label within my master page that is part of our footer. In the footer, we are wanting to display page specific information. So as you make your way around the site, the footer will contain content about that page along with other data that is universa on the entire site.I had a somewhat similar question some time back that i posted here..

If Label is in master page, you have to use FindControl to get the Label and udpate its text
((Label)Master.FindControl("cartct")).Text=String.Format("{0} Items In Cart",ShoppingCart.Instance.Items.Count() );
once you select another page, you dont have it anymore,If you want to share data across different pages, consider using Session to save Items count.

I run through some code in my debugger that is definitely changing the value of a label on a master page. But it's not changed on the page:

I am running a website from IIS on one computer and I want to view the web page on another computer. the only way I can do this is by using the ipaddress of the computer with IIS on it but would rather have a url. How can I generate a url or use a domain name from [URL]. I signed up for an account on that website but dont know how to use it. I dont know how to configure it.

I am trying to set the value of the label in the master page by

But the value in the master page label is not changed.

I have a page(a.aspx) which is under master page(m.mst). I have got another page in name b.aspx which is also under master page "m.mst". Now i want popup a.aspx from b.aspx on some button click. But in the popup(a.aspx), i do not want the master page features.
Is there any way i can detatch the master page from the page, or i have to recreate it without the master page?

I have a class named utility in my App_code folder that holds the logic to set a labels text.
public void Mgr_BreadCrumbs(string text)

Manager.MasterPages.Master master = new Manager.MasterPages.Master();
Label lblHeader = (Label)master.FindControl("lblHeader");
lblHeader.Text = text;
}
And then in each of my pages I was trying to set it like this:
utility u = new utility();
u.Mgr_BreadCrumbs("Categories");
I'm getting am object reference not set to an instance of an object on the lblHeader.Text = text; line of code.

I have a master page containing menu items and if i click on any menu item then postback happens(it's not an asynchronous postback) that page loads in the content area. Now, if the page has taken some time to load and the user again clicks some other menu, then at some cases, it is crashing. So what i want to do is when postback is happening, I want to restrict the user to click anywhere on the master page or content page. We have achieved this on asynchronous postback.... But cant find a solution during postback.

Im using Visual Web Developer 2010 , ASP.NET and VB
Im using the "ASPNETDB.MDF" database for membership and others ,
1-- i created a gridview in my masterpage
2-- Connected to to " ASPNETDB.MDF" and "asp_Users Table"
3 -- Selected all
4-- My Select the Field "UserName"
Now im trying to get the On-line Users .
Im having a problem , becouse i can't see it when i debug the page, i changed the font , background color , i havent got any erros , what i need to do ?

I've got a web site that has a master page and that master page (mpMaster that has a user control ucControl1) which has a sub user control (ucControl2), this user control has a property which accepts a value. Now, I have a page that uses the master page
and on this page I have another user control (ucPageControl), I need to find a way of setting the value in ucControl2 from ucPageControl. Is this possible at all?

I have at present two master pages, what I want to achieve is the following; One user control loads, there is a button to click, when user clicks that button the user control should unload upon session authentication and the second one loads. However, the second one has a button as well, and I want to click on that button to unload that control from master page and reload the first user control.

Is there a good way to enable forms that come out of user content (CMS) that is displayed inside the form runat="server" tag? All sorts of services provide forms for users to paste into their website, which break if the content ends up inside a .net form. It seems to me that there must be a good way around this, but I can't seem to find any solutions.
