I'm a bit new to .net so i was wondering if a thing like this is possible. I'm having one basic aspx script that needs to load some "plugins". Every plugin has its own settings and it should perform different logics. What i'd do in php is create a class for each plugin, load that class, pass the settings file to it and call some method on that class that would give me some output. But is it even possible in vb.net? I'd need to have multiple files with multiple classes, load those files, depending on the plugin name and call some method on them to parse that plugin's settings.
I am working on a application which supports multiple languages and I am doing it using asp.net resources files. Now the problem is, its a product and each user wants to have their own translations. For Example there is a text say "Home"Some users want to say it "Home Page" and some wants to say "Main Page"
Is there any possibility to do create different resource files, for each users, for each page and then load them according to the user currently logged in?
need to open an aspx page (called editItem.aspx in code below) loaded dynamically inside a jQuery UI dialog from a parent aspx page. the child page has a button server control and should go back to parent page after postback. with the following code I get the error"The state information is invalid for this page and might be corrupted"
I was thinking about the performance when I use code to hide some control in aspx page using delimiters or in cs file. For e.g. If I have a panel and I want it to get shown following some condition, so I can achieve this by two ways
I have a Tab Container that has the OnClientClick set to a function that will set the focus on my textboxes when the user clicks the tab, however when the Tab Container first loads this doesn't get fired. If I click on the tab the text box gets focus, but I want to some how fire a click event on that tab so it sets the focus on that text box or some how get that focus on the page load event?
have a tabcontainer, where I put a radio button list having two button. If i select the second radio button then some fieds will not display. Now the problem is I gave the size to the first panel 300px, and I placed all the buttons at the below. Now whenever the fields are not displaying, then a vacant plce is created. If now I change the tab panel height then the buttons are cut away.So can I dynamically incresed the size of the panel?
I have a page with 4 fixed Tabs. Tabs 1 and 2 are always in position 1 and 2. However, the users are allowed to create their own tabs and add their own html content. I do this by creating a new tab in codebehind and inserting it into the tabcontainer AFTER the frist 2 and before the last 2 tabs. There could be several of these. EX: "F1 | F2 | U1 | U2 | U3 | F3 | F4" where F is a fixed tab and U is a custom tab.
As long as ALL tabs are visible then everything works fine after postbacks.
Based on user settings I sometimes hide fixed tab 1. Everything loads fine the first time. However, on postback The content on fixed tab 4 (always the last tab) is displayed on the bottom of EVERY tab (fixed or custom). It is still displayed in fixed tab 4.
A little background on the code:
Since the tabs are added dynamically they do not exist on postback and must be re-generated every time. This is done in Page_LoadComplete. I have tried it on PageLoad and it behaves the same way.
If I do not re-generate the pages on post back then the problem goes away - as do the custom tabs.
The only thing I could find was from last year, and was supposedly fixed (http://www.codeplex.com/AjaxControlToolkit/WorkItem/View.aspx?WorkItemId=16321
I upgraded my site from asp to asp.net.This means that all of my previous asp files became obsolete.I don't want to lose my Google Ranking of the old pages.
What is the proper way to redirect?I tried to catch all of the old asp pages is my 404 and then to:
if Request.QueryString("aspxerrorpath").contains("index.asp") = true then Response.Status = "301 Moved Permanently" Response.AddHeader("Location", "http://www.domain.com/index.aspx") Response.Redirect("/index.aspx") end if
I have a designer working on several pages in Dreamweaver. The designer is creating .aspx files with the Page directive at the top. These are getting shipped to me and I'm adding them to the Visual Studio ASP.NET WebForms Web Application Project. The problem is that there's no code-behind file by default, and I'm trying to find a shortcut to have them autogenerated as if I've added a fresh page from Visual Studio.
If we are deploying ASP.NET web application, Do we need to copy both *.aspx and *.aspx.cs files on the server? Also what if I am using different framework version? I mean 1.1 / 2.0 /3.0 /3.5 /4.0? What will be the answer in different .NET Framework versions?
I need to change the encoding from Western European... to Unicode... for every file in the project. I do not want to have to check out, open, change encoding, save and check-in every file, is there a faster way?
Create one page called Main.aspx. This page has a DIV and a buttons.
The browser loads Main.aspx. Then when I click the button, I want to load page Page99.aspx into the DIV in Main.aspx dynamically, but without Main.aspx requiring a postback.
So, Main.aspx loads once, and thereafter all the content displayed in Main.aspx will come from different .aspx pages.
Ps. I'm looking for a solution as above, but not using frames.
UPDATE 1
I should mention that Page99 is not a simple HTML page. It will contain Web controls.
I am implementing the Tabs dynamically from serverside, loading usercontrols inside them (using AjaxToolkit). Question is, If I click on one of the hyperlink inside one of the tabs, it should open a new tab dynamically to show the results. How can I achieve that?
I have problem in converting .Aspx page to .Pdf file. I would like to know how can I change the themes and skins or (CSS) dynamically and what are the basic requirements for it. Is there any design structure must be same..? Following are my requirements. E.g. we have 3 themes. Theme1, Theme2 and Theme3. Designations are. Employee, Manager and Sen.Manager And I want to assign Theme1 to Employee and Theme2 to Manager and Theme3 to Sen.Manager. After Employee gets promoted to Manager the Theme2 must be assign to him. And when they login there Theme and skin must be change according to his designation. Hope you can understand.
Ive got some custom code that im using to load user controls dynamically depending on the option a user selects from a menu control on the page.
I wanted to create an admin page that can be used to provide a one stop shop to complete all actions within an app im building, (like a template/iframe scenario that loads all selections in a screen on the right)
My code works, however when the user has completed an action sucesfully within one ascx, then selects another from the menu on the left, it wont load the new control, it comes up blank like it hasnt refreshed properly meaning that they have to close down the page and reopen it. (which is very annoying)
My codes below, can someone take a look and see if they can see whats wrong.
i want to be able to load user controls and populate them with data from a sql database at runtime based on a status field in my database but im struggling to do this.
my default page.aspx holds the user controls (acts like a container). at the moment i had referenced all the user controls to load up when the page was loaded so:
[Code].... [Code]....
i then created a procedure which reads from the database the "status field". so if the status field is "pending" then i want the uc:GRLOLApproval control to show up but im not sure where to put this code or how to do it. i want to be abel to load the control at runtime and run this code. in my default.aspx.cs code i have done the following in the page load: [Code]....
i tried to reference te user control in my default.aspx page by doing: protected GRLOLApproval GRLOLApp; but it wouldnt recognise it because it not been reference in the source file.how do i reference it so that i can read the data from my database and write to the fields in uc:Collectionrequest. (I have exposed the properties in the uc:CollectionRequest that i want to access btw) have been working on this for days now and just cant seem to load the user control or access any properties.
