I have one RadionButton and a Button.
When I clik on RadionButton it fires it CheckedChanged Function perfectly.
But, when I click on the Button, it ALSO fires the same RadionButton ChechedChanged Function! I don't know why!!!
I want to avoid that! I don't want the button firing that RadioButton function.

Works great, right? Well I wrote a small javascript file to make the checkboxes mutually exclusive, but now, while the post back refreshes and the javascript works, it does not show the popup extender anymore - it doesn't even enter the codebehind function.

I have a web form with two RadioButtons, both use the same GroupName, both have AutoPostback enabled and both have an event handler for CheckChanged. I use tem to show/hide a Panel further down the form which is contained in an UpdatePanel with Conditional Update set and with both CheckedChanged events in the Triggers collection:

Now, the problem arises when I set the Checked property of either RadioButton in Page_Load, which results in the even not firing for the button which was marked as Checked (the event for the radio button whose property was not assigned does get fired). In fact, upon inspecting the source there was no 'onclick' attribute declared for the input element that was marked as checked in the Page_Load, whereas the other RadioButton did have the 'onclick' attribute properly set.
The layout of the form doesn't allow me to place the radio buttons within the UpdatePanel, so that is out of the question. Is the behavior explained above normal? am I missing anything? Both events fire once the assignment to the Checked property is removed from Page_Load.

I have a page on which everything is loaded dynamically.
There is a Gridview (AutoGenerateColumns=true) and in the RowDataBound I check every column for a boolean datatype. If found I add a checkbox (autopostback=true) to the cell and register the CheckedChanged event.
The problem is, that I only get the CheckedChanged event, if I reload the grid in Page_Load:

But this is very expensive and causes that the db request will be executed twice. If I changed the code to what I want:

- Adding a Checkbox in RowDataBound
- Only "LoadGrid()" if it is no PostBack

I have a GridView, which features a a checkbox on each row (in a template field), where it calls a method upon checked changed (well, when they click submit - no auto post back)
My problem is, the checked change refuses to fire more than once - if I just change the check state of one checkbox in the grid, it works fine. More than one and it only fires the event once.

I have a checkbox, textbox and requiredfieldvalidator inside the updatepanel. Once user checks selects
checkbox I am enabling requiredfieldvalidator.
I have one more textbox, requiredfieldvalidator, validationgroup and Linkbutton outside updatepanel.
Strange thing is Checkbox checked event not firing in some cases,
1. Check the checkbox (which enables requiredfieldvalidator)
2. Click the Linkbutton (fires two validators)
3. Uncheck the checkbox (which should disable requiredfieldvalidator)
4. Click the linkbutton again (again it fires two validator, which should fire only one validator)
Note: The problem only arising when I add javascript block to linkbutton in page load event.

I have a procedure that is generating some radio buttons and assigning a CheckedChanged postback event based on the level being passed through (up to 4 levels). When the first level is checked (radio button selected) the postback event rb_CheckChanged00() is called and a check is done to see if this item has any children, if it does, it will create more radio buttons and assign rb_CheckChanged01 to the CheckChanged event for these - This part is working fine.
The issue I have is when I select the second Radio Button that has been created (the child), it doesn't seem to go to the post back event at all. The page is posting back when I click on it but everything resets because it won't go into rb_CheckChanged01.
I know this info is quite vague but I am hoping someone has an idea on how the post back event works and if I am somehow using it incorrectly.
I´m using a Repeater to generate Items out of a Database. Each ReapeaterItem should include an UpdatePanel, because i have to Update the Controls inside the UpdatePanel and do not want to reload the complete page. Inside these dynamically generated UpdatePanels (each RepeaterItem has one) i´m adding up to three Checkboxes dynamically (based on the Database). These Checkboxes need to fire the "CheckedChanged" event, because on some conditions i want to enable/disable/check/uncheck Checkbox1, 2 or 3 based on business logic. ... Hope you got this so far. I´m adding all Controls and have the EventHandler Added. But the generated Code does not reflect the Event Handler. I tried OnItemDataBound, OnItemCreated, PreRender, ... Events to add the Eventhandler too, but i was not able to find the CheckBox-Control with the ID.
I´m totally lost with this and on the way to use Buttons instead of Checkboxes. From what i read so far is that with Buttons i can use the CommandName from the Button and the ItemCommand-Event from the Repeater to get a workaround, but then i need to reflect the "Check" on the Page in some way. btw, every Repeater (8) sits inside an ajaxtoolkit-accordion control. I have abit of a problem, with the AutoEventWireup setting.
Currently, my master page's onload seems to fire twice. If i set wireup to false, it doesn't fire at all.
All my page, using the masterpage, also has the setting set to true.
Should i only have it set to true in the master?
What happens to my events in the indidual pages then? Does the masterpage handle the wireup, if they are set to false, and it is set to true?
When I start debugging my application using vs2010 before the default.aspx page is rendered the application_error event is fired in global.asax.
There is nothing happening in the page_load of the default.aspx screen.However, if I set a break point on the default.aspx page_load event and the application_error event here are the sequence of events: The page_load event of default.aspx is fired, there is no code to execute there so I hit F5 to continue. I have absolutely no idea why this event is fired. Do all of the events in the Global.asax get fired on startup?There is nothing happening on the page_load so how can an error be thrown?
I have a form in which I have two drop downs. A decision in one fires the other. The basic rule is:
Drop Down A -> select items 1,2 or 3. Drop down B loads list 1
Drop Down A -> select items 4,5 or 6. Drop down B loads list 2
This works fine on first load and save of the form. The problem is when I edit. Lets say I selected and saved item 3 in Drop Down A. On Editing: If I change Drop Down A, the select changed event fires every time I change it except when i reselect what was saved. It leaves me in a situation where I can choose 3 in Drop Down A but are left with the wrong list in Drop Down B as the event doesn't refire on that selection.
I've tried every trick I can think of but I can't seem to get around this issue. (We've tried radiobutton lists and its the same issue. Setting the value in a variable and attempting to reset the control to clear what it thinks the original value is doesn't work either.)

I have a table with a button in it. The table is wholly built in the code behind. When I click the button, I want to rebuild the table with a new parameter. This all works great. I have a buildTable function that returns the table. It is called during the repeater itemdatabound and called again at the onclick event. The problem is, when the table is built from the onclick event the buttons do not work. In fact, the onclick event is never called.

the user can change the data within the gridview then click a save button to update the data within the database.
However in order to know which rows have been changed I have a textChanged event associated with each textbox, but the event isn't being fired.

View 3 RepliesI've got a booking form which allows users to pick dates. User clicks FromDate button which activates calendar control, they select date from calendar which then populates a textBox. I have a compare validator which checks that the SelectedDate is greater than the current date, if the SelectedDate is in the past then the validator fires error message. This works as fine, however, when the validator fires it disables the FromDate button so the user is unable to pick another date from the calendar as the focus goes to the TextBox which is being validated - how do I get around this?
