Mar 23, 2010I have a long form having bunch of textboxes with validation controls. Submit button is on last of the page. for clicking submit button user needs to scroll to down the page. After clicking submit button, If any validation control fires. user is not knowing until he scroll up again.So I kept a lable next to submit button to show, if any validation controls fires. in code behind I wrote code like this

But control is not coming to here after validition control fires. my question is How should I show this lable visible "True" after validation control fires?

Validation Message Still Show Up When An Autopostback Dropdownlist Fires?
Dec 8, 2010I have a required field validator to validate a dropdownlist. this dropdownlist is an autopostback one, and it's causevalidation property is set to be false.the issue is, when I select the default item, the validation message shows, but the still do the postback. And after the postback, the message disappers.here is the snippet of codes:

Aug 7, 2010I'm developing an E-Commerce, website and within my CART webform a have one Quantity texbox for each product. When a customer insert a number inside of it and click on a update Button, it fires a function and the Product Quantity is updated. It is currently working fine.
But I want to fires the same function and update the quantity without the click button event. When the MOUSE OUT the TextBox, I want to update the quantity automatically.Is there any way to do that?

Mar 25, 2010I have an update panel which contains a number of controls. The update panel is triggered by the OnSelectedIndexChanged event of a dropdownlist called: ddlUSCitizenshipStatus. It works as expected when I selected a new item.
However, if I leave ddlUSCitizenshipStatus with the default value, and then click "submit" button on the page, the requiredfieldvalidators say there is an error on ddlUSCitizenshipStatus (which it should, as I never selected a value). So I then choose a value, the error message goes away on ddlUSCitizenshipStatus, however the updatepanel does not refresh. I've debugged this locally and the OnSelectedIndexChanged event for ddlUSCitizenshipStatus does not fire.
If I choose an item in the ddlUSCitizenshipStatus list a second time, the OnSelectedIndexChanged server event fires and the update panel refreshes and works as expected.The issue is, I have to select an item in ddlUSCitizenshipStatus twice, after failed validation, before the updatepanel it's sitting in updates.The submit button on the page looks like this:

If I remove my custom OnClientClick script, making the submit button look like this:

The dropdownlist, update panel, and reguiredfieldvalidator all work as expected. However, I need to run that custom "ValidatePage()" script when the button is clicked.Below is what my ValidatePage script looks like. I've been troubleshooting this for more hours than I can count.... I hope someone is able to help me. Please let me know if you can figure out why ddlUSCitizenshipStatus doesn't update the updatepanel until the second click after a failed validation.

Mar 22, 2010I am using a Listview with InsertItemTemplate bound to a LinqDataSource with a child table in the ORM datacontext. This table has a relationship with a parent table in the OR/M datacontext. The record is to be inserted in the child Table. The parent table is bound to dropDownList in the InsertItemTemplate to provide a user friendly name. Using the ListView ItemInserted event in debug, I can follow the execution and no errors occur BUT no record is inserted. I confirm this by a showing all Table Data in the SQL Mgmnt Studio. The child to parent table seems to be causing the problem because when I delete the relationship in the OR/M .dbml , I am ABLE to insert records. I am using Scott Mitchells' Using ASP.net 3.5 ListView with Data Pager controls: Inserting Data as a model. I can provide code if required, but what is going on with the deleting of the relationship between child and Parent.

Feb 10, 2011I am using a Timer with a 3 minutes interval. I am exeuting the Page_Load event every 3 minutes. I am doing that this way as I have all this code inside an UpdatePanel1 which causes
a partial unnoticed postback to the server. I have a lot of code in the Page_Load event that I havenīt put here.
But what does not work is the code I have in the Page_Load event now.
I am trying to execute the javascript function with this line: body1.Attributes.Add("Onload", "startbk()");
This function should start an imageButton to change image between 2 images. This function do works if I refresh the page so the function itself do works.
But it seems this function does not execute when the Timer executes the Page_Load event, so this is my problem how I can solve this?

The validation is if there is a value present in the first text box then the second text box is required.The page throws an error when the validation should fail, but if I ignore the error the validation works correctly.Do I need to move my javascript to the code behind as well?

The UserControl has an HTML Element that when clicked hides the UserControl by simply change the display of the control from 'block' to 'none'. If the 'Close' span is clicked, the UserControl is successfully hidden, but afterward, the 'Edit' linkbuttons no longer postback.

From what I can tell thru breakpoints, this code works fine as long as there's something in one of the two textboxes. When both textboxes are empty, the code is never called - and so both boxes empty ends up being allowed.
So what's the correct way to validate one-or-the-other-nonempty condition?
