I have hard coded and added items to dropdownlist ie teamsize as 1,2,3 like that.When i load this dropdownlist for edit/update i get duplicate values like this

I have a master table relationship, i.e. depending on what is selected in the dropdown list the grid show the relevant data.In the database there are several identical entries for the Position field, for instance there are four marketing managers that have different name. How can i group the identical Position name in the dropdown and when selected the grid should display all marketing managers. Here is the code:

suppose I am having sample table like below.
I need to remove duplicate orderid's and i need all column names also while doing query.
note that rows are not in the order. Order will be like this only.
I am able to get the records which are duplicated but not able to delete further.
In this case how to delete?
My consideration is that only distinct orderid's should be there in the table. Not bothering about the which orderid row is being deleted.

View 1 RepliesI have a detailsview with template fields. when i go into edit mode i am trying to set the selectedvalue of a dropdownlist to be the value of the corresponding label from the item template in code behind as once i go into edit mode i loose the initial value from the detailsview and the dropdownlist defaults to the first listitem. what i am doing is onDataBinding of the detailsview i access the cell value of the label , i then assign that to a public variable but once i've exited the routine the public variable looses the value of the detailsview cell i've just assigned to it. this is the value i'm hoping to assign to the selectedvalue of the dropdownlist when i go into editmode. The reason i'm doing it this way is although i can use bind in the html to mantain the dropdownlist selected value between detailsview states once i come to update the detailview i get the following error

I have a FormView in InsertItem that contains one DropDownList linked to a Table Datasource to display ItemCodes. In that "lookup" table I also have a Retail and Cost field.When the user selects the item from the drop down, how can I have these to field carry over into my new record that is being inserted. The new record also has a Retail and Cost field that are TextBoxes.Basically I am populating the new fields with the default values from the DropDownList.

I have 2 divs with 2 nested divs in them. Let's say div1 contains div11 and div12 and div2 can also contain div11 and div12. I know that this is not normally allowed but I am using jTemplates and they do allow you to print the div11 and div12 twice or more on the same page. The HTML looks like this:

How do I ensure that I only have one div with the unique ID loaded on the page, so I don't get in any duplicate DIVs. The result should look like this:

3 nested dropdownlists SELECTing from DB. So i select the brand, then i select the model and then i select the product and click on SEARCH button.
But when i select thebrand, and then the model, and if i want to change the brand, it does not reset the second and third dropdownlists.

Ive tried distinct but it doesnt work I want to process the RETURNED list (as there are only 4 rows here, i want to end up with 3) and just have 1 instance of ID 1.
I have a form with 2 sections. The first one contains some radio buttons. The second one contains a checkboxlist. When we change the selected radio button then it modifies the elements in the checkboxlist. For this I setted the radio buttons with autopostback, and in the code behind (in OnLoad) I populate the CheckBoxList depending on the selected radio button.
This work fine.
The problem is that I also have a button at the end of my form which post the data of my form in another page (with PostBackUrl). Then in that page I would like to retrieve the values of the checked checkbox. But I can't find how to do that. In the Request.Form I don't see anything.

m using a listview and an object data source in my application, with optimistic concurrency control.i have only 2 columns in the listview: category_ID and category_name;when i try to delete an item, an error message is generated saying that one of the old values populated by the list view is null, i performed debugging, and found that the category_ID old value is populated correctly, while the category_name old value is populated as nulli can't find a problem in the code, i executed the delete command in the query builder directly and it worked fine,

i have a checklistbox that is databound during Page_Init in an

block. the user can then check off certain values, and click an asp.net button which posts back the form and renders a crystal report on the same page.
i need to be able to determine which items were checked in the control so that they can be used as parameters in the crystal report. rendering must be done during Page_Init.
the checklistbox object is on the page during design time; only the items are dynamic.
i tried using the Request.Form object during Page_Init to obtain the checkboxlist's items but either i didn't code it correctly or it can't be done that way...
can the checkboxlist items' values be obtained during Page_Init, and if so, how?
I'm trying to use two cascading dropdownlists with the same values -- one shows a code, and the other a description. They are sorted alphabetically, so they have the same values, but not the same index. Both are generating correctly. What I am trying to do is set the abbreviation when the description changes (and vice versa).If I use this javascript, it changes on the web page, but I get a null value returned to the form handler. If I comment out the CascadingDropDown control and load the TrickAbbrev from a database it all works.

Imagine I'm developing a webform with two dropdownlists and a submit button. The second dropdownlist depends on the choice in the first, and both are loaded dynamically using webmethods being called with javascript in de ASPX page (ajax). When I submit the form to the server, to save the data, I can't get the value of those dropdownlists. I think it is because with client AJAX no viewstate data is being generated. I need to send the data to the server and save the webform data, and identify wich data is on each webcontrol.

I can give the rest of the GenericDataAccess if that will help, but here's the problem; When I run a web page with this control, all the dropdown items are 'System.Data.DataRowView'I'm sure there's some obvious stuff I'm missing but I'm new to populating dropdowns.
We do have a search page for customers which returns a list of data from a table.
Once we select on an item it should redirect to another page with customerId as a querystring parameter..
Now the problem is we have to save all the customerIds and need to send them to display page..and need to select next one once they done with previous one without going to the search page again..
Example:
if they got 10 customers in the search page then we need to send all 10 ids to display page by starting display of firstone and once they select next button on display page they have to move on to the next cutomer from that list..if they reached the end of list they have to start again from the first...we need to avoid the user going to the search page for each customer every time...
