May 31, 2010
im trying to have back button after user fill up all information to registration form...but the problem is all information that already filled ,need to fill again after click on back button ..is there any idea to have back button without need user to fill all form again..???
As this is registration form, I want server side validation of existing email id .If user entered email id already exist in DB I want to reopen the above modal dialog (automatically) with an error massage Email ID already exist.
I have an Send.aspx page that has an uploadify control on it. Upload.ashx handles the file upload.I am adding a file record to a sql database in the Upload.ashx file and I need to get the ID of that record back from Upload.aspx when it is done. Can't get it working with Sessions. =( Something to do with an Adobe bug?
What would the best way to handle this be?Here is the uploadify control:
// var contestID = $('[id$=HiddenFieldContestID]').val();[code]...
This took a while for me to figure out. But in retrospect it is extremely simple. For this reason, I mad a video tutorial to help newcomers get started quickly and understand how this awesome control works.
And we have seen all these in a user registration form. But what if I want to add more fields to it. For example, take a look at this website, this registration page has a lot more fields for users to enter information: [URL] This regirtaion page has the information for Street Address, Suburb, Gender, DOB and lot more. How do I add these fields into my registration page. I have heard of something called profile. But how do I intergrate profile into this, if this is what we use to add more fields to user registraiton page. share a sample working code of user registrtion page with more fields.
i want to build a user registration page where a user can submit his firtname, lastname contact address telephone, email and upload a passport size picture with a specific file size and if bigger than the said image size it will not upload to the database and to be able to retrive back all information submited with the form including the passport size photograph and view them in a given page. I have been trying my hands on it but i could not get it work.
I am new at ASP.NET and I am having some difficulties. What I have below is a Registration and Login, both in one page. However, when a user is logged in, I would like the registration and login form to be hided. There is a LOGOUT option when the user is logged in.
I want to create a user registration form, I used the CreateUserWizard control, and i intend to add more filed with the wizard interface, the fields were firstname, lastname, telephone all these with the textBox control and sex-male or female with a radioButton control, and upload photo with the FileUpload control.
After a successfull submit to the sql database, i should be able to retrieve all this informtion inluding the photo uploaded in another aspx page using any of the data control in y toolbox and resizein the photo to be 100/100 pixel size. pls could you write out the code (step by step details) to follow to implement all this in my asp.net 3.5 c# website. I have already created a table in my database, using userId as my ForeignKey.
I have a page, the user types in e-mail and then submits. The next page is a confirmed page - letting the user know that his -mail was entered. If you then click back, the forum will try to re-submit itself. Is there a way to stop this?
the current page code below lists profile information of all users within with my site. i'd like to modify it so that it only displays information about the current user logged in.
I am new to web forms, but how can I populate a web form (form fields i.e. name, job title, tel no etc) with that users information automatically taken from their active directory profile? It wouldd be an Intranet application so all users would be on the domain. How is this done in ASP.net? In Coldfusion I would set the following variable
<cfset user = listLast(cgi.REMOTE_USER,"") > which would grab the user id from AD
Then I would query an employee DB matching up the userid to gather their employee info
<cfquery name="querygetemp" datasource="DATASOURCE"> SELECT * FROM empl.directory WHERE uPPER(NETWORK_ID) = '#ucASE(user)#' </CFQUERY>
and then set variables which I would use to populate the form fields further down the page
<cfset varsection = querygetemp.section> <cfset varjob_title = querygetemp.job_title> etc.
i have a form which allows the user to key in the data and then submit. if everything works well on this action result, then i will redirect the user back to a thank you page.
my problem right now is that when the user click on the back button, they will be able to go back to the form page and the inputs will still be there.
and if the user just click on submit again, i will be getting some potential weird bugs.
so in terms of asp.net mvc, what's the best way to handle users who click on the back button?
I am trying to build a form that will not change the URL in the users browser, and will not allow the user to press the browser back button. Is there something I can do to accomplish this?
I have an application with form authontication , the authontication from username and password in Database.
I would like to prevent user after login from go back and go forwoard for a period of time like a session time out? when the user type user name and password correctly he is able to log in to the application but when he/she log out can not be return to the privious page?
Like a session cockies or like that, sorry I'm professional in this way.
I want to reload the page when the user clicks on the back button, from a particular page.Say for example there are three pages:
Page1.aspx,Page2.aspx,Page3.aspx
I want when user move from Page2 to Page3. When he clicks on "Back" button on browser page shld load I have tried adding a onload function JS in Page2 it works out. The issue is identifying user is coming from Page3.
I'm working on a asp.net forms web application where I've got advanced search form with grid listing results below. Grid is sortable and pageable. Grid is listing products.
I've got two requirements :
1) make the url remember the advanced search form state so search results page can be bookmarked etc.
2) on the product details page there is a back button that should take the user to the advanced search page with the same settings in the form and same grid state.
I have implemented a workaround to above two problems but I don't think my solution is very clean and I'd like to hear better ideas. My workaround is as follows :
1) I iterate through form fields and I put values into the querystring after the hash. So when the page is loaded it gets the values from url if available.
2) when user clicks a link to product details page from the grid I use javascript to create a cookie with url to advanced search page so when rendering the product details page I know the url for the back button.
I have a form that works just fine, problem is that if user leave form open for more than 20 30 min and then click a button on that form the browsers status line shows "Error in page", user then must refresh the page in order for the page function.
simple registration form. Which is shown in grid view after submition. And the grid view has update and delete option.THE REGD FORM CONTAINS FOLLOWING CATEGORIES First name, last name, gender, dob, father's name, contact, address.
customers does not want to allow user to use back or forward button. Just a clean page without commandbar and toolbar, same for FF an IE. Disabling them is not an option as now.
What is the easiest way to save form data and retrieve it when the user navigates back to the page?
We have an application process that consists of several web forms. If the user clicks to go back a step we would like to auto-populate the fields. I am assuming there is a common generic way to do this without having to mess with individual controls - what is it?
Can i easly edit the defualt registration form and add some textboxes to it and make it as a membership page to subcribe? What if i added 2 types of membership, how can i make the form sends the customer an e-mail and tells him what is his new membership type? how to make a form for customer in his own page after login, allows him to edit his info and make a section in this page tells him some alert .
