Web Forms :: Copy A File To A New Location When The Button Is Clicked
Aug 28, 2010
At this point only testing to see how this works.. but end result is that i need to copy a file to a new location when the button is clicked. The master file will always be available in 1 directory. The new location will not have this file. I have a very simple line of code below, but doesnt seem to copy the file over. I tried 2 ways.. one is the code below, the other was for the newloc string i didnt have the file name at the end. What am i missing?
Do you know if it's possible to add a button in a gridview that when clicked, downloads a document listed in the gridview to a specific location, and then opens the document that was just downloaded? (It's too many steps for the users to right-click, do a file save as, save the document, and then open it). So, I need to accomplish a lot with this little button. Also, I'd need to specify a directory on the C drive to save it too.
i need to load a form when i clicked on a button.the name of the form which i want to load is getting from a file only. how to use that name deliver from the file to load the form.
I have a table in my database, in which a certain field holds the locations of text or doc files (the files are of a transcript for a chat session).
In the Gridview right now i able to show the link locations. But i want to have Hyperlink or Button in the links location in the Transcript Location fields. And on the click of which the txt or doc file opens up in notepad or microsoft word.
I am selecting the file in the file uploader and when i press the button, the page gets postbacked and the selected files in the file uploader gets removed. I need to remain the selected file in the file uploader even thought the button clicked.
I have a script written in PHP that does a number of things. I do not want to have to rewrite this in ASP.NET. I wanted to know if anyone knew how I can just call the PHP file from the code behind page after a button is clicked. I cannot use javascript because things need to be added to the database and need to be successful in the function before I can call this php file. I do not need any of the php code to show up, I just need the php file to run and I need to add a parameter to the end of the URL.
I have a working solution, and I would like to copy it and paste in a new folder. I am creating a new version of the site, and want to build on a "copy" of the solution. But when I do it, all the paths are lost and it doesn't work. What am I missing. What is the process to copy a working solution and get it to work from new location?
When I click on download link button which has the path of the file stored on the gridview how to pass only the filename to the query string... like for example URL....presentation. pdf is the file name and it will be displayed with the path stored on the gridview.. How to extract the filename and make it download on a new window by passing the filename on the query string..
I am working on a ASP.Net project(c#). I have SQL Server Database linked with it. The project has the list of client present in the city. A page will show the list of client on a datagrid . Clicking on a client will redirect to another page which show the details of that client. I want to display Google map picture or Google street picture of that client along with the details on that client details page through Longitude and latitude. Each client details will be fetched from the database to show on that page and every client longitude and latitude value is also saved in a column in the database.
I have a asp page with tow buttons search adn enter and asp required field validator in it, what I am trying to do is validate the input only when the enter button is clicked not the search button, right now when the search button is clicked it validates and throws an error.
The whole thing is in a form, and it doesnt postback when this button is clicked. Im no good with javascript, but i got a feeling thats not the problem.
I have made an application where I am displaying the .pdf , .doc , .docx files. These files are uploading from an Admin Panel. When user place a mouse pointer on download icon provided in front of every file, it shows the complete path where it’s get saved.I want to avoid this path visibility even when user place mouse on download icon and even if it Inspect an element (as most modern browser will have this functionality).
I have two buttons on a messaging form. A "To" (who's going to get the message) and "Cc" (who's going to get a copy). The user choose the names from a listbox that popup when the "To" button is clicked. When the user click the "Ok" button the name is moved to the "To" label. If the user now wishes to CC someone how do I get the "ok" button to know I've click the "CC" and not the "To" and to put the name on the "CC" label?I tried switch statement but was not working

Obviously I am a total noob and this is simple to some of you, but I can not figure out why the rest of the sub works, but the button1.Text="Uploading, Please Wait..." seems to be completely ignored.
The button is supposed to change text when clicked but no method I have tried works with my page.
I'm new to web applications but have enough knowledge on windows based solutions using vb.net. Anyhow, I'm making my 1st web application and facing some challenges as expected.
