I am sending the resluts of my form via a function that calls a HTML template that inserts the values. I would like to include a if statement that checks to see if a form field is NULL and then inserts a "n/a" to place in the HTML template.
Here is the function that sends the form:
[Code]....
So in the above code the value of fname=john and the value of lname is blank, I want to anything that is blank with "n/a"
I am using IIS 7 and have URL rewrite turned on for a friendly URL.
The problem is that in side that pages repeater (right under the captcha) when I click on the images in there the page redirects to /null/ which then throws a 404 error. I have turned off url rewrite and removed all rules and that didnt solve the problem so I dont think its related to that.
I have also noticed that in my master page if I use <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/html4/strict.dtd">
then the client side ajax fails to load, sys becomes undefined and that may be the problem here
I'm at a loss, this is the first time I have seen these problems occur.
I am using a FormView control. The allows me to update records in the database. However, when a database field is null I can not update the field on the form. It works fine when the field is not a null value. I am not using any code behind (C#) to bind the data or manipulate the data.
I have read that when there is a null value in the database thatthere is no record in the "dataset". Can anyone show me how to bind a value in the form when there is a null value previously.
Im dynamically creating several dropdowns onclick of a button... but the dropdown returns null when im trying to get the values on submitting the form... i read tat during postback all dynamically created controls will be lost... s there a way to register the controls... i want to access the item selected in the dropdown .... expecting a positive reply...
I have a simple ASP.Net page, and I am enumerating through the controls doing things to the controls via reflection (localising the page - but that is whole other can of managerial dictat type worms). So...I have a test page thus:
Now, if I just run this, it barfs with an object null exception. And if I step through the code, putting a breakpoint on the control.ID line, then indeed the ID is null. However, if I then expand the control object, the ID fills itself out and all is well.
It looks like the ID is only getting completed at the last moment - how can I ensure that I can get the ID without getting null? The same thing happens if I don't use the master page.
I have a master page that loops through form keys looking for a specific key:
[Code]....
Problem, if I use an UpdatePanel on a page when this code is hit the last form key is null. If I don't use an update panel, all is good. Why does the UpdatePanel send a null form key in the list?
I am attempting to call a RESTful service using an HttpWebRequest object via POST. I am attempting to pass 1 variable with the Request body which contains a url encoded string. I see the request when it hits the server; however, it shows 2 form variables. The first is Form[null] and the second is my variable.I am attempting to locate the source of this NULL key; however, I cannot. Any ideas on how I may be able to remedy this since it's throwing issues when I attempt to use it with the Nancy web framework for .Net.
Code:
var request = WebRequest.Create("http://localhost:8888/RouteName") as HttpWebRequest; request.Method = "POST"; request.ContentType = "application/x-www-form-urlencoded";[code]...
I have a form and stored procedure that inserts the data from the form. It works fine except that if a field isn't filled in it doesn't insert a NULL into sql it inserts "".
I've tried a few different ways but none seem to insert NULL, the one below still inserts "", can anyone point me in the right direction.
Here is the required part of the code, if you require more just let me know.
[code]....
So if I enter nothing into address1 field it should write NULL to screen but it always writes NOT NULL.
i have an odd thing with the Request.Params / Request.Form.i have a literal control in my masterpage.
[Code].... So far pretty basic i thought. But to my suprise the geLocation turns out to be null. The control wasn't found... when i then use a link from the dashboard page to another page which has the same masterpage, everything on that page seems to work fine.
I am hiding a TextBoxin my aspx page like this: myField.visible=false; Now I have a DropDown as well which tries to access the TextBox on IndexChange. The problem is, it cant access the hiffen TextBox and I am getting document.form[0] is Null or Not an Object. How can I solve that? Is the some check for that in JavaScript?
I have setup my business object to have a create_date and edit_date members both datetime datatypes. My company want to display the create_date and edit_date fields in a gridview for each transaction. The problem i have is that after insterting a record it will have a valid create_date but no edit_date and when displayed in the gridview it defaults to datetime.minvalue (My default). How on earth do i show an empty field in my gridview for a null datetime field in the database?
I am using similar architecture to the Imar Spaanjaars example of a tiered solution. With a few small tweeks it has worked well for me for ages. I am passing a List<Database> to my object datasource which connects to my gridview.
I have a problem with a SessionVariable. I will explain what is happening:
1. From the default.aspx I send Session["LoginByAdmin"] = "Dummy"; and then redirect to this page where I have the code below. So the Page_Load sees that this Session["LoginByAdmin"] != null and enter this page. This works fine !
2. In the Page_Load, I later fill a ListBox1 with foldernames.
3. With Button1_Click1, I will now delete the choosen Folder in the ListBox1 wich works fine the first time and the ListBox updates the new existing folders in the ListBox. (I have wrapped this inside an updatepanel)
The problems comes now when I try to delete a choosen folder in the ListBox1 the second time in a row. When I select a Folder in the ListBox1 and now Press Button1, I will be redirected to "Default.aspx". This meens that this code is running: (That meens that Session["LoginByAdmin"] == null and I have not set this to null anywhere. This is my big question how this variable can be = null here?
if (Session["LoginByAdmin"] == null) Response.Redirect("Default.aspx"); break;
In my code behind, I have the following code that I want to insert a null value for a parameter. Instead of doing that, it is adding the word "NULL" to my database. What am I doing wrong?
My site was woking fine, now i noticed that i get an error "Microsoft JScript runtime error: 'null' is null or not an object" when i checked the view source, i saw the following system generated code
<script type="text/javascript"> var Page_ValidationActive = false; if (typeof(ValidatorOnLoad) == "function") { ValidatorOnLoad(); function ValidatorOnSubmit() { if (Page_ValidationActive) { return ValidatorCommonOnSubmit(); } else { return true; } WebForm_AutoFocus('txtMailAddress');// --> IS THIS RIGHT???? out side the braces??? </script> </form> </body> </HTML>
I have a stored procedure to insert data into Table B, but when I tried to insert a null value into column ID of table B, this error came up:
The INSERT statement conflicted with the FOREIGN KEY constraint "FK_tableB_tableA". The conflict occurred in database "database name", table "table A", column 'ID'.
I am guessing adding nothing to the null value column is the problem, but i don't know how to fix it... The INSERT statement conflicted with the FOREIGN KEY constraint "FK_tableB_tableA". The conflict occurred in database "database name", table "table A", column 'ID'.
I am using dropdownlist in my view page with some values which will display corresponding ID(primary key of other table) in my database.If i leave my dropdownlist blank and save it in database then its showing null parameter error. Can you explain how to use this reference type to overcome this error
I have a web form called default.aspx which has a form with user information. In addition to this, I have an iFrame on the same page that displays a page Secondary-Form.aspx that has a few additional dynamic data fields. I need to do two things.
1. I need to pass the parent form data in real time to the iFrame page to refresh its content and modify it's fields accordingly. Example: If the user submits their Vehicle Choice as Car on parent form, the form item in iFrame will display a radio button that says Honda, and if the user submits their Vehicle Choice as MotorCycle in the parent page, the iFrame will display Harley Davidson as the radio button choice
2. The submit button is on the parent page. I want both pieces of this information (from the parent page, as well as iFrame selection) to be passed to a server side ASPX page to process this information.the default.aspx and Secondary-Form.aspx files are located on different domains.
