I have an application in which if I enter greek characters it gets diplsayed correctly till they are in cache but when I go to another webform andcome back this data is passed to database and comes back and is not right it shows something else than the greek character I entred.
What could be the problem, is it something to do with database conversion or what?
how can i make greek characters been displayed in a asp label? in my visual studio they are fine but now i have the site online and it displays curious characters
View 3 RepliesI am using mySQL. I have separate tables for several languages. When I display the Greek statements I seem to be limited to between 192 and 201 characters. That is not the problem with English, Danish, Dutch, Russian, or Farsi. I am using the same code for each with the only change being which table is opened. (In fact I just took the Dutch code and changed only the name of the table I'm opening to the Greek table and had the same problem.)The problem is that I've also double checked the statements in the table and they are complete, e.g., some have up to 255 characters.

The problem is: ...if you're using capital letters then they must appear like this: f.e. ΟΛΗ and not like ΌΛΗ, same for all other words written in capital lettersSo is it possible generically to uppercase Greek words correctly in .NET? Or should I wrote my own custom algorithm for Greek uppercase?
On a web page, I use field validator controls and I have included also a validationsummary control. So far so good, I get the messages in english and greek language. For some cases I want validationsummary control display some custom messages. I use the code below:

I have a web application, which I have a SQL express database attached. I tried to upload a Japanese character into a varchar (max) column, and the result when displaying in the web page is '?'.
I tried to fix by the web config and in the page display to display japanese but it doesnt work.
I want label to display limited text say 20 char even the data it retrieve from database may be more than 20 char.. like in gmail,we see message body limited when we click it display whole message..how is that possible...?

Each order may have a different number of columns, depending on the type of order, so I thought I'd just create a single structure to take care of everything, and display details in tab delimited columns.

When I'm starting to print date in the TextBox, mask moves with characters. Mask characters don't hide under typing characters.

My problem is it appears that my application is changing the characters. For Example the file might contain something lke this Andrlová and is converting it to this Andrlov�
I am passing this into a sproc. The datatypes for my paramater & DB Field is nVarChar(50). If I insert the data directly into my table or if I call my sproc from a query window and pass in some data it works fine, but when my app touches the data it appears to get messed with.

View 3 RepliesI have a file, a.pdf, stored on a SharePoint server behind Windows authentication. I want to make a.pdf available through another Web app with forms authentication. Basically, link is clicked and up pops the open / save as dialog for the pdf (or other document file) I've set up my HTTPWebRequest and passed credentials, getting my data into a stream (file.GetResponseStream).
I've tried converting the stream to a byte array and then using response.write or response.output.write with no luck (stream not seekable) I've tried using a streamreader and doing a response.write(streamreader.readtoend()) and response.write(memorystream.toarray(),0,memorystream.toarray().length) with no luck (the message received from the server could not be parsed).
