i downloaded Microsoft Report Viewer 2010 Redistributable Package and used in asp.net page and it works fine without post back all the page BUT, when i created costume web part including report viewer , default page shows javascript error and the report papers as disabled , and when i click viwer the whole page getting post back

View 1 RepliesI have a custom master page that I use in WSS3.0 (SharePoint 2007) and I am using a HTML 'DOC TYPE' which I am declaring at the top of the master page. The site all works very well with my master page apart from some of SharePoint controls which are acting a little funny, namely the People Picker for a People and Group field.If I remove the DOC TYPE declaration then the People Picker and other controls work perfectly and behave as they should but it sends some of my customisations/layout all over.
Before I spend a lot of time reviewing fixing the issues I get to my design without having the DOC TYPE declared, does anyone know if there is a certain DOC TYPE that is compatible with WSS3.0 / SharePoint 2007 and all of its features (i.e. People Picker Fields)?
I was hoping someone could shine some light on this subject. I am wondering if the Microsoft Report Viewer could show a full listing of all the records/rows displayed in addition to it's default pagination viewing. I am using MS VS 2008 with ASP.NET 3.0.

I'm having a problem with Microsoft Report Viewer reports in local mode...
A little background info:
I have a flat data file which I load into memory (split into fields in a dataset) and need displayed in a report. The data structure of this file is hierarchical with about 4 levels: File, Batch, Entry, and AdditionalInfo. The amount and names of the fields in the Entry records change depending on a field in their parent's Batch record (lets call this field BatchType). So while I'm reading Batches i need to look at this BatchType field to know how to read/display the child Entries.
Problem:
Since my Entry sections in my report will be different depending on the BatchType field in the Batch record, I researched a bit and found out that the only way to do this was to do subreports. I figured I'd have to have a different subreport for each Entry type. However, I've been unable to find a way to change the ReportName parameter in the subreport object during runtime. I dont even know if it's possible to change a subreport's ReportName on the fly.
We use grouping to display master-detail report. If there are only nulls in a corresponding part of a report data source flat table, how can I not show empty records?

Say for instance a user wants would like to see all the data requested then another time would like to toggle thru the pages of infomation. So does anyone know if the control allows for display changes from complete view to paginated viewing. I am using MS VS 2008 with ASP.NET 3.0.

That's my C# code but i the "ReportViewer1.LocalReport.Render("PDF", null, out mimeType, out encoding, out filenameExtension, out streamids, out warnings);" came in error everytime i try to generate the report. Can you show me the way so i can view the pdf from the browser or save the pdf from the browser?
We have several asp.net web applications we've built and we also want to embed them into various sharepoint pages. We need to have them look like standalone applications when viewed in their own pages, but also have them look like they fit within the sharepoint page when embedded. We are doing this currently with IFrames and it works ok, but I'm wondering if there is some sort of proxy web part where we can configure the web part to point to an existing web app and it will proxy the contents through from the web app into the sharepoint page removing the need for an IFrame. Possible?
View 2 RepliesWhen using SPWeb.GetCatalog(SPListTemplateType.WebPartCatalog), it returns an SPList which of course contains a SPListItemCollection of the web parts in the web part gallery. When looping through the items, is there any easy way to get properties of the web parts? Such as AllowClose, CatalogIconImageUrl, etc... I know I can probably accomplish this using the listItem.OpenBinaryStream etc and loading the xml of the .webpart file, but I wondered if there was an easier way to do this.

They want me to develop a webpart for displaying the top 10 most critical service arrends and add this to their "start" sharepoint webpage. The data is available through a stored procedure, and the gui could be as simple as a repeater. BUT, how do I make this as a webpart in sharepoint. This means I want to drag and ppsition it anywhere I want on the sharepoint GUI. I have worked with asp.net for 5 years, but never touched sharepoint.
I did some googling on the topic but what i found was very cumbersome, they said I needed to have sharepoint installed locally. Thats just not possible in the current environment. Surely its not that difficult. Can't I just develop a standard webpart and import it somehow into sharepoint?
I want to create a very simple WebService, which will be deployed on SharePoint Farm 1 and will be accessed by SharePoint Farm 2. The WebService will be responsible for querying all the ContentTypes and returning the result to the Farm 2. I don't know the basics of creating the WebService in SharePoint.
