i have a gridview, and an itemtemplate who contains a checkbox, if the field: "DtFineValidita" (datetime field), is expired, i want set the checkbox to false, and if is null to true this is the checkbox

but, if i set an breakpoint, and the funciton return false, the ckeckbox is every time checked! it is strange!, when the function return false is every time checked
my table got around 15 columns and 50 k records.

There are considerations -
1. Should I use paging
2. If I am using repeater , is there any option to create the itemtemplate at runtime.
I got few check box (depend on settings) that created during run time, some time the number of check box is 3, sometime is 5. And the check box ID also change based on the settings.
How can I search for ALL these check box and return its ID? I do not want to use javascript.
I have a GridView displaying names from a DB and I have added a checkbox to each row to select certain candidates (code below). This data then gets posted to another page which is where my problem is...What I'd ideally like is to have the CandID value stored against chkSelect in the form so I can then work out which candidates are selected. However, what I actually get in my form is 'gvCands$ctl159$chkSelect=on' for instance. It's not particularly easy
to figure out which candidate is #159 so I'm guessing that's the wrong route to go.

Note: If a constant value is passed at design time it works fine. But i want to assign the value at runtime using Bind.
Environment details: VS 2008, ASP.NET 2.0 and .Net Framework 3.0 & C# language.
I tried returning values like 0s and 1s, Ys and Ns and True and False from a database field. But i still get the above mentioned error.
I tried retreving the value in OnRowDataBound event using Eval, since Bind is not available in code behind. But it would make the field readonly and i cannot edit and update the Results field.
Even though there is a value returned by the query why does the Checkbox does not assign the value using <%# Bind("Results") %> to Checked property instead throws error - Specified cast is invalid.

where did the Bind method of ASP.Net 1.x is moved? How can i use Bind in code behind of ASP.Net 2.0?When i type DataBinder the intellisense shows Eval and other stuff but i don't see Bind that would solve the problem of two- way binding.

View 2 RepliesI am absoluetly confused. My web app has a checkbox list that my code is looking to see if the user checked it. Like I said, very simple stuff... Here's the code:

The odd thing is that when it gets to this bit of code it just moves right past it like it wasn't checked. The same thing happens when I use a single checkbox (rather than a checkbox list). I've tried a bunch of different ways to make the code work but I'm left to the conclusion that I'm just not telling it to do this correctly. Either that or my project is messed up somehow.I say that my project is messed up because when I add an object to the page in Design mode, it doesn't write the source code. So when I save and close, all the modifications are mysteriously gone. This happens on multiple PC's...So, is the checkbox problem just me not doing something correctly or is my web project messed up?

I am dynamically binding a typed list to a GridView control.
The Grid View Control is in an asp.net page that is wrapped in an asp:UpdatePanel (Ajax).
The first column contains a checkbox control.
Only one checkbox may be checked in this column.
If the user checks a checkbox, all other checkbox must be unchecked.
I am trying to achieve this using client-side script without success.
