1) I have order and orderdetail table...i need to know how to use collection for order and orderdeatils tables in asp.net C#
and save to ms sql server..coz herebefore i used something like
sqlconnection
sqlcommand insert query
but i want to know how to use collection and where to use...whatz the benefit of using collection...i have seen most of them where using collections...
2) As well as i want to know with good example how to use and where to use and when to use below listed below
I am making use of an ASP.NET Masterpage. I have 3 tables as Columns in my Masterpage. The first table load then the second table that contains my "ContentPlaceHolder" and then table 3.How or what must I do to load table 1 and then table 3 and then lastly the table 2 that contains the "ContentPlaceHolder"?
The problem is I had to create a draftResult class in order to show data that resides in two different tables using linq which means if i want to add or remove a column i will need to do so in the draftresult and in my linq. Here's what my setup looks like: I have two tables (draft, lookUpStatus)

I want to list the draft name and the status title in a table view. In order to do this, I wrote the following linq in a method in my sqlRepository class and return it to a IQueryable<draftResult>. My controller instanstiates the sqlRepository object and invokes GetDraftListing().

The above process works but does not seem as flexible and i'm trying to get a better understanding of MVC and LINQ.
I would like to Select all entries in the GalleryAlbums table, but Order them (DESC) by date values in a column (upload_date) on the GalleryPhotos table. Both tables have a column "album_id"

I have a list of objects that I want to bind to a gridview. Creating that list and binding it works fine for most of the public properties in that list.
There are some objects contained in each of those objects... for instance there is an Address object.
object.Address.Line1;
object.Address.Line2;
When I bind this to my gridview, I have no issues with stuff like object.DateRegistered, but how can I access things like object.Address.WhatEverProperty? I always get this error:
"A field or property with the name 'xxx.xxxx' was not found on the selected data source."
I have 5 hard corded texboxes in a page in a sequence with sequence Number . Now i want to add re-order /re-arraning functionaly .. but i can't use ajax reorder list because i have 5 hard corded texbox. how can i maintain the order in Insert/Update cases. And also suggest me control that i can use, another than ajax re-order list. coz i not using any list items i have hard corded items on the page.
What i need is i need to bind last 10 Order in Gridview/details view with paging, and the same order detail also fetch from database and shown in another gridview.. if user click any oderNo in first Gridview/DetailView then i need to show Respective order detail in anther gridview..
without postback coz we already fetch 10 order with orderdetails from the database..and if user click next 10 orderNo using paging then again we need to load 10 orderNo with respective orderdeatils from database like this going on....as well as let me know how to take print of particular oder and order detail....?
The AjaxToolkit has a ReorderList. I'm searching for a jQuery solution that does the same and found this page. I would like to change the order of divs (vertically) and upload the new order to the database (ajax).
From my testing, it appears that the order of parameters for the UpdateParameters must match both the order of the bound fields on the form (asp:Formview), and the order of the parameters in the UpdateCommand. Is that correct? If so, why do the parameters have names if all that matters is the order? I tried both asp:ControlParameter and asp:Parameter. Maybe the more relevant question is why aren't the names used instead of the order, particularly for the form order?
So, given I display the Identity field (CID), and need that for the update, I cannot get the update to work without including it in the UpdateCommand. Of course, since it is an autonumber field in Access, I cannot actually set it. So, I had to add another field to the db (lngUpdateCID) that I could set. That can't be how it has to be done, but I could not figure out another way to do this.
I have an ASP.NET app with lots of textboxes all over the page that need updating at various points through program execution.
These textboxes actually belong to a certain class, so for easy updating I thought I could create a Dictionary(Of string, object) and add the control.ID and the control to it and then for updating do something like this:

However the text property of the textbox does not actually get updated. I'm mainly trying to avoid having to manually do textbox.text = somestring for each one of my textboxes every time I have to update them.
I know that if I have set a cookie on a previous request, it will show up in my Request.Cookies collection. I want to update my existing Cookie. Are the cookies from my Request.Cookies collection already copied to my Response.Cookies collection? Do I need to add a new cookie with the same key using Response.Cookies.Add(), or do I need to use Response.Cookies.Set()?
I have an C# ASP application I am writing that needs to have the capability to import a generated excel or a comma delineated sheet each day. A clerk will have this job each morning so it doesn't need to be automated. My problem in trying to understand the solution to this is that the 1 sheet contains loan information, including customer information all in the same sheet. I would like to send certain columns to update information in the loan table and send other information to update the customer table. I need it to create relationships when new loans appear in the spreadsheet.
I'm using HttpModule to capture requests to the web server. Before processing the page I'd like to check the values contained in some keys of the Request.Form collection and according to some logic change if necessary. I'd like to do this when BeginRequest event is fired. The problem is that the Request.Form collection is readonly.
I am using bulk insert concept to export the data from dat file to tables(Two tables). I am using the temporary table for to do the calculation and insertion to two tables. My problem is whenever I selecting the temp table data after the execution of bulk insertion , the order is changing .I need to get the order as it is in file order(csv,dat,txt).
List<Dictionary <string,object>> I am reading about the list and collection, If possible, what are the different ways that I can utilize the list of dictionary collections..... gives me different examples or areas where I can use it.
I am an ASP.Net developer, and I use the data controls quite frequently. One of the things that Microsoft, unfortunately, hasn't spent much time on, are the themes. (i.e. "Professional, Colorful, etc...) No offense to the designers that came up with them, but I don't use them because they're not all that pleasant to look at. I've been designing my own "App_Themes".
Is there a gallery of themes that you can download or buy to plug into ASP.Net controls. It would be really cool if someone has figured out how to add themes to the "tasks", where all the stock themes are. I also use Developer Express, so I'm aware that there are control libraries out there, and have used them, I just haven't seen themes that were designed specifically for use with ASP.Net controls in a manner that made them seamless with the "out of the box" themes.
Does anyone know how to either add your own theme to the collection of themes ASP comes with, or is there a good set of themes for purchase or free? Links would be much appreciated. Just to clarify, I'm not talking about control libraries, just ASP.Net themes.
I'm dynamically loading a user control from a for loop against a objects collection, eg.

I want to pass the following collection into the user control: oPerson.Address[i].listHistory (listHistory is a List of objects which I want to manipulate inside the usercontrol)
How can I pass this into the usercontrol so i can do this
I am currently using Request.Useragent.Contains("string1") and if string1 matches with my useragent i am writing it on to the page, now I have to check with a collection ( array or list or ..) which contains {"string1","string2","string3"} and Response.write the useragent if the Request.useragent contains any of the strings collection (string 1,2,3). I am unable to detemine this and if i use a list or array, i am getting a "cannot convert from string[] to string" exception when i use it with Request.Useragent.Contains.
If there is a better way of achieving this, let me know. Its important.
I am using a grid, with udpate panel, ajax controls etc.So in my code behind everytime the hit my grid page I am clearing the previous session value stored.I do this:

But sometimes when i navigate to other pages and come back to this page it errors out saying:
" Collection was modified after the enumerator was instantiated."
