Oct 18, 2010I'm trying to have all my views inherit from a custom class so that I can add certain behaviour and values to all pages, but I'm having some issues. I tried subclassing System.Web.Mvc.WebViewPage but I'm forced to implement an Execute procedure that I don't know what it should do. Also, if I try to access the Context variable, I get a null reference (really weird). This leads me to think that I may have the wrong base class.

Nov 11, 2010We have a modular architecture where we have some views (cshtml) files in a separate project (class library). How can we get the syntax highlighting and autocomplete to work when the project isn't an MVC project?
note that the class library has controllers, views, models etc. It just doesn't have the web.config, global.asax, etc that a normal mvc project would have.

Nov 4, 2010I programmed a WebForm where I can add dinamic FileUpload elements and upload a variable number of files. So far no problem.
My problem begins when I try to automate this process in a class Uploader (external to this webform so it can be called from any other form or module). In my form's Page_Load() I instantiate this class and call the method uploader.layout(Me), which definition you can see next:

Visual Studio Doesn't Recognize Dynamic User Control Class
Jul 15, 2010I have created a user control which is inside a folder called Controls and the class is a partial class which inherits from Web.UI.UserControl. Now from my page which is one level up I just try to access the method inside the usercontrol and so trying to cast it as the type of user control. But I get build errors. It just cannot recognize that class. I get Type not defined error. But at times it has recognized the class. Dont know why it does that.

Jul 30, 2010I know this 'dyanamic control event not fired' has been raised time and time again, but I still can't work out how to solve this issue...
I'll break down the parts and where the button is created without the 'flesh' around the code that shouldn't have an effect.
Imagine this is the stack:

button_Click never gets fired. The annoying thing is in the app, if button list isn't used, RadioButtonList is and is attached in exactly the same way and while i haven't checked, i'd imagine I would be able to catch events from that.
Page With Base Class With Dynamic Master Page Not Firing Events
May 3, 2010I am feeling that I have terribly wrong somewhere. I was working on a small asp.net app. I have some dynamic themes in the heme folder and have implemented a page base class to load the master page on the fly. The master is having the ContentPlaceHolder like: <asp:ContentPlaceHolder ID="cphBody" runat="server" />
Now I am adding pages that are derived from my base class and added the form elements. I know, Visual Studio has problem showing the page in the design mode. I have a dropdown box and wish to add the event of onselectedindexchange. But it is not working. the page is like this:

Jan 28, 2011Lets say I have a Web Application with a menu of products. When a user clicks a menu item, then create and display a dynamic set of controls in an Update Panel. I am currently doing this however the PostBack and recreation of controls is tedious and resource intensive.
Not sure about this but is it possible to build a webpage with controls on it, then display it in update panel or IFrame? Then on post back you wouldn't have to recreate everything all over again?
