C# - Accessing Control Attributes From Static Function?

I need to be able to pull some values from a ReportViewer running an SSRS report. Specifically, I need the name of the report and the parameter(s) fed into it. I have looked at the ReportParameterInfo class as well as its members and methods, but I can not get this to work. Has anyone done this before or have a general idea on where to start?
View 3 RepliesI'm a beginner in Asp.Net and i have some problems to resolve. (It's hard to find good threads in french community)
I've a DetailsView linked to a GridView, in fact the DetailsView get the selected item of the GridView to return the associated datas.
I would like on the load of my DetailsView to get the values of the labels contained in my DetailsView to set my class's attributes.
But my .cs can't recognize the IDs of my DetailsView's Labels...
So i have some existing functionality from an older ASP.Net app that is a static class.
Say there's a static method in that class that returns a dataset that I would like to bind to something like a gridview or whatever I can build using MVC3.
I've got an .aspx page with this in it:
<%@ Import Namespace="System.Web.Mvc" %>
<%= AssetController.ScriptTag("/js/Community/CommunityWizard.js")%>
And I have an AssetController class:
Imports System.Web.Mvc
Public Class AssetController
Inherits Controller
Public Shared Function ScriptTag(ByVal src As String) As String
Return String.Format(
"<script type='text/javascript' src='/js.mvc?src={0}&{1}'></script>",
System.Web.HttpContext.Current.Server.UrlEncode(src),
New BuildVersion().ToString()
)
End Function
End Class
The project has a reference added to the 3.0.0.0 version of System.Web.Mvc assembly. When I try to view the page in a browser, I get a HTTP 500 with this message:
BC30007: Reference required to
assembly 'System.Web.Mvc,
Version=3.0.0.0,
Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35'
containing the base class
'System.Web.Mvc.Controller'. Add one to your project.
What gives? I don't understand why I can use this controller everywhere in our ASP.NET Forms/MVC hybrid application, but not in a view. EDIT: In fact, when I type <% System.Web. into the .aspx view, Mvc doesn't even appear in Intellisense!
Currently, I am accessing the property by creating a static method like the one below.
public static class CartCollection : List<Cart>
{
public static void Add(Cart Cart)
[code]...
I have a class and call class A method by creating class A object
unlike this call Class B method by using class B objectÂ
Code is here below
class A {
public void A1() {
Console.WriteLine("I am from Class A");
}
}
class B {
public void B1() {
Console.WriteLine("I am from Class B");
[Code] .....
I want to access the static variable in my global.ashx file I am using classname.variable name for accessing the variable but the variable name dose not appear.Can someone tell me how to access static varialbe in *.ashx file.
View 5 Repliesi declared a static variable in global.asax file like below
<%@ Application Language="C#" %>
<script runat="server">
static string Sv;
void Application_Start(object sender, EventArgs e)
{
// Code that runs on application startup
}
i want to access this variable in aspx page. how can i access this variable.
Aplogies if this has been discussed before but I couldn't find an answer.
I'm trying to use jquery/Ajax to access some webmethods in my codebehind. This is fine, but I would in my function like to reference a placeholder (phStory in the code below) on my page and also load a usercontrol into that placeholder.
Unfortunately I get the message: "An object reference is required for the non-static field, method, or property 'TestControls.phStory' " and similar for the usercontrol. Does anyone know how I can still access my placeholder and usercontrol from within this.
It has to be stati as it's a WebMethod but this then throws up these errors.

I am calling function in codebehind from javascript using webservice.
function GetAdmissionType()
{
InitComponents();
var type="";
type=document.getElementById(dlAdmissionType.id).value;
document.getElementById(hdnAdmissionType.id).value=document.getElementById(dlAdmissionType.id).value;
else if(type=="2").........
i am not getting controls in aspx page in SaveInfo.
I used static function because the function is called by pagemethods but i have to find a control in masterpage, findcontrol method do not work in static functions, is there any solution for this problem?
View 4 RepliesI get this error: Cannot refer to an instance member of a class from within a shared method or shared member initializer without an explicit instance of the class.
Partial Class _Default
Inherits System.Web.UI.Page
<WebMethod()> _
Public Shared Function ParseData() As String
Dim value as string = GetValue()
End Function
Private Function GetValue() as String
Return "halp"
End Function
End Class
I know it has something to do with the fact that the first function is shared and the second function should probably be Public as well but I don't fully understand the reason behind it. Probably not relevant but I'm calling the web method from some javascript.
is it possible to make an asynchronous call to a static class function?
View 3 RepliesHow can i execute a C# method in a java script function? Is it possible?
View 3 RepliesI am unsure of how to reference the properties of my class in a function. Here is how I see it in my head, but how do i go about this?

I am using the following XML structure
<SERVERS>
<SERVER NAME="A1" ID="1"></SERVER>
<SERVER NAME="A2"></SERVER>
<SERVER NAME="A3" ID="3" Parent="XYZ"></SERVER>
<SERVER NAME="A4" ID="4"></SERVER>
<SERVER NAME="A5" Parent="abc" value="10"></SERVER>
<SERVER NAME="A6"></SERVER>
</SERVERS>
I am accessing this xml file by using LINQ to XML in asp.net by using C#. I am able to access all the attributes of an XML node by explicitly specifying the name of the attribute. I want to write query on this xml file which reads all the attribute values of the xml node (In our example the node is SERVER) dynamically means I want to write the query which can read the read the value of the attribute Name & ID from first node, only name from second row, Name, ID & Parent from the third row , Name & ID from the fourth row, Name, Parent & Value from the fifth row & only Name from the sixth row without modifying the existing code every time. Once I add one of the attribute ( for example if I add the attribute ID in the sixth row ) in the above xml file then I dont need to modify my LINQ to XML query. My query should dynamically fetch the total number of attributes & display their values. Is their any way to do this ?
I have a code behind page with two functions that return two counts (iCount and iCount2). In my repeater table I can display the results of the functions just fine, but now I need to do some conditional logic based on the results of the functions, eg:If iCount =>3 AND iCount2 =>1 Then
View 6 RepliesI am using my aspnet membership for storing user profile related information in the database and I am looking for a way to access that information out of database from a function like Member.GetProfile. I am just wondering of any of the membership classes give thet functionality that I can actually access the information out of Membership database.
Somebody suggested me follwowing thread:

I am "Profile" object is not recognized in my code I think they are trying to refer to some some instance of a class here by the word Profile but I am not sure what instance is that.
I want to add a custom attribute to an asp.net RadioButton called Key which I'm using client-side for an ajax request.
What I'm finding is that my aspx markup which is the following:
<asp:RadioButton ID="rdoPost" GroupName=PreferredContactMethod" value="Post" onclick="DoStuff(this)" runat="server" />
gets rendered in the page as<span Key="ContactMethod">
<input id="rdoPost" type="radio" name="PreferredContactMethod"" value="Post" onclick="DoStuff(this);" />
</span>
whereas I'd expected (and hoped) to get the following
<input id="rdoPost" type="radio" Key="ContactMethod" name="PreferredContactMethod"" value="Post" onclick="DoStuff(this);" />
I've tried the same thing with an asp TextBox control and it works exactly as I'd expect simply adding the Key="myKey" attribute to the <input type="text"/> element.Is there a way around this with the standard RadioButton control, or will I have to inherit from the standard one to achieve the markup I'm wanting? Currently I'm using these attributes in JavaScript in the following way:
var key = rdoPost.Key;
For example:
<uc:AdmiralAckbar runat="server" id="myCustomControl">
<Warning SomeAttribute="It's A Trap">
My Data
</Warning>
</uc:AdmiralAckbar>
I'm not sure how to add SomeAttribute.
Code without the attribute is:

Im trying to create a "user control menu" where links to a page's usercontrols are placed at the top of the page. This will allow me to put several usercontrols on a page and allow the user to jump to that section of the page without scrolling so much. In order to do this, I put each usercontrol in a folder (usercontrols) and gave each control a Description property (<%@ Control Language="C#" Description = "Vehicles" .... %>).
My question is how can I access this description dynamically? I want to use this description as the link in my menu. So far, I have a foreach on my page that looks in the ControlCollection for a control that is of the ASP.usercontrols type. If it is I would assume that I could access its attributes and grab that description property. How can I do this? (Im also open to a better way to achieve my "user control menu", but maybe thats another question.) Should I use ((System.Web.UI.UserControl)mydynamiccontrol).Attributes.Keys?
I have a web user control (wcCmdBtn.ascx) which has an asp.net button and i need to add an additional attribute from the form page that the user control is linked on. My button name is btnExport and my language is vb.

I'm working on an application that has moderately complex security requirements. Each user can have several permissions like "Load," "Save," etc. Is there a way I can use custom attributes (or perhaps even an ASP.NET built-in security protocol) that will let me hard code a permission requirement above the corresponding method? Then ASP would have to make a call to a security method which I made which can see if the user has that permission in their permission set. For example:
[Code]....
And if the user logged in does not have the permission, fire off some other method that can display an error. I've looked at the role based security that asp.net offers and it doesn't suit our needs because we have many roles and they differ by organization.
how to jquery call a other call function other class is not static
