Dec 26, 2010Lets assume there are 2 columns in my datagrid:

The first column displays names from a xml file and the button column just hold delete buttons so i can delete the corresponding item to the left of it (1st column).
How exactly can i retrieve/pass this selected value to a function? In other words when i press the button to the right of the name, it passes the value so i can work with that to remove the corresponding xml node. (using XPath)

C# - Windows Desktop Search - Force Re-index / Index Now From Command Line?
May 14, 2010I'm working on a project where we're using Windows Desktop Search (WDS) to index files on a web share and then later allow the user to search via a website for documents in the share.
These documents are transferred to the share via FTP, however it would seem that either the computer never goes idle to index or at some point the indexing stops. Is there a way from the command line or within the program itself to force this to happen without having to re-invent the wheel? Using .NET 3.5 and C#.

Supported file types would be txt, pdf (from scanner or imported from file system), or jpg. What concepts I should look at researching/learning about to build the system in a way that files will be stored as small as possible, retrieved and displayed quickly, and secured. The users would be spread out over a regional area covering 4 states.

I have a table with a list of usernames. I have the list of usernames displayed on a page through a GridView. What I am attempting to do is for each username in the column "adminUsernames", I need to insert a set of values in another database table for EACH "adminUsernames" that exists. Example: There are 2 adminUsernames vales in 2 seperate rows. These are "Admin 1" and "Admin 2". For each adminUsername values (Admin 1, Admin 2), I need a row interted in another database table. Automatically Generate Delete Command For GridView Not Working
Nov 9, 2010I have a GridView and a SqlDataSource, which I have set to automatically generate Delete/Insert/Update statements. I then just enabled Deleting on the GridView, and usually away I'd go. For some reason though, the row is not being deleted - the page is posting back but the row is still there. When Delete is clicked, RowDeleting does fire though. What possible causes could this be?
