I have a blank user control (child) and during Page_Load i create some text boxes and a button. I also add an event to the button.
I then load that user control dynamically from a placeholder in another usercontrol (parent). Both controls are rendered correctly but when i click on the button, the event isnt fired. how to handle the event?
If i use the child control directy (ie without the parent the control) the click event is raised and handled nicely. But when i use the parent control, the debugger wont even hit a breakpoint inside UpdateButton_Click().
i am having 2 imagebuttons a gridview and a button. Now if i clicked on Image button i will show a grid. Now under button click i would like to capture which image button was clicked if 1st image button is clicked i would like to some values and if 2nd one is clicked i would like to show another
Using a listview control for the first time... I need a button for each item, and of course I need to handle the click event for the buttons... upon clicking a particular button I of course need to know which item the button is associated with so the appropriate action can be taken...
In VS, I can't select the button and see my list of available events in the properties window like is normally done for controls outside of templates like this... what do I need to do?
I have a LinkButton within a User Control and it has handled with:
Private Sub LoginLinkLinkButton_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles LoginLinkLinkButton.Click Response.Redirect("/", True) End Sub
On certain ASPX pages I would like to handle the click from the page's code behind, opposed to within the user control. How do I override the handle within the control from the parent's code behind page?
Based on the answer, I have the following no added to the User Control:
The problem is determining the correct syntax for the if line because the above is invalid.
I am having a problem where my button click event is still firing even though my custom server-side validation is set to args.IsValid = false. I am debugging through the code and the validation is definitely being fired before the button click, and args.IsValid is definitely being set to false once the custom validation takes place, but it always makes its way to the button click event afterwards.
So I followed Scot Mitchell's tutorial from asp.net/learn on adding a checkbox column to be able to select multiple entries and delete them with the click of a button. When I make my selection and click the button it works on the database end, as the desired entries are deleted. However, the entries remain on the page after it reloads. if I refresh the page it's updated properly but I'd like it to automatically update after the button is clicked.
Also, I tried his method for adding check/uncheck all buttons to the top of the gridview and they don't seem to be working either.
My CompositeControl creates dinamically several RadioButtonLists according to the DataSource information. These controls are added to the Controls list and rendered in CreateChildControls event.
I need to create a LinkButton that clear a specific RadioButtonList selection and do a postback, to load the DataSource information again (some selections changes the data that need to be loaded from the database). For each RadioButtonList, I've put a LinkButton and assigned the Click Event to a method inside the same CompositeControl, to do the RadioButtonList cleaning.
Unfortunatelly, the LinkButton doesn't trigger the Click Event. In HTML code, the link has the "onclick" attribute setted with the asp.net event, but when clicked, nothing happens.
I have a User Control that has been added to the page dynamically. When I click a button on that user control:
The button_click event is NOT being raised The page posts back The user control is removed from the page
Here's the button-click event on my User Control:
Protected Sub btnAddAttribute_Click(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnAddAttribute.Click Try Dim attrName As String = txtAddAttributeName.Text Dim attrValue As String = txtAddAttributeValue.Text 'ADD ATTRIBUTE TO ATTRIBUTE TABLE putSQLData("INSERT INTO OD_Attribute_Values (AttributeName, AttributeValue) VALUES('" & attrValue & "', '" & attrName & "'")...........
I am using the AJAX tab container. How to capture the click event of the tab, whether client side or server side,,Means suppose when i clikc on tab0,I want to execute the certain Code.how to handle the click event of the tab?

I am creating nested accordion using the object model and have created buttons in the inner accordion's accordion pane. The buttons look great but issue is that the buttons does not fire thier click event. They just do the postback of the page and ignore the event.
I want to show a pop-upextender on the pre_init event but all my panes are added dynamically so it does not give any rows.
I have a user control that displays some database records when I first hit the page. When I click the submit button the page load event fires again, loading the user control again. Then the button click event fires inserting a new row in the database which is not shown on the page because the user control already did its stuff. If I could get the user control to do its stuff after the button click event I could then see the newly inserted row. I can do this by pulling the code out of the button click event and sticking it in the page load event. However, I think that would be bad code flow. How can I get the user control to do its stuff after the button click event has fired?
