I've created a custom control in ASP.NET for showing a pop-up message box. In my MessageBox class, I have a Content property as ITemplate like the following:

I used my custom control in my page like this:

Even I set the the Content property's TemplateInstance to Single, I still can't have access to the Button control.
All I want to do is to handle the click event of the button. When I assign an event handler to the button control and run the project, it throws a NullReferenceException.
I have a LinkButton within a User Control and it has handled with:

On certain ASPX pages I would like to handle the click from the page's code behind, opposed to within the user control. How do I override the handle within the control from the parent's code behind page?

I then load that user control dynamically from a placeholder in another usercontrol (parent). Both controls are rendered correctly but when i click on the button, the event isnt fired. how to handle the event?

If i use the child control directy (ie without the parent the control) the click event is raised and handled nicely. But when i use the parent control, the debugger wont even hit a breakpoint inside UpdateButton_Click().

In my View, there is a HTML button; I would like to execute a function from Controller when user clicks on that button. I need to pass a value from HTML textbox as parameters. My function will do some calculating and return the result back to the same View.
Let's make a simple example.
I would like to input "1" in my textbox, press the button, pass "1" to controller, and in the function, I will do something like 1+1. At the end, I will pass the result, which is "2" back to the View.

View 3 RepliesI've been searching a little bit to try and find the answer to this problem. As of right now another person I work with has designed a wizard step with an upload button in part of it. After the person clicks the browse button and selects their file a validation statement comes up saying, "Please click 'upload and continue' or clear the field" and then is supposed to disable the continue button until this is done. He started by adding a RegularExpressionValidator and found it did not solve his problem.
Now that he's out today we're working on trying to solve this and my first though is to actually use a custom validator instead and have it call a function in the back-code for validation which checks to see if the "Upload" click-event has happened. Is there an easy way of verifying whether or not a click-event has occurred. Basically my conditional is shown in the pseudo-code below...

I am having a treeview with nodes of products populated on first time through xmlresponse.Onselectednodechanged event, I have performed xmlseriaization to build a request to get list of subproducts. Now, my issue is how do I handle the next On_click event requesting for items under subproducts which will inturn calls the same onselectednodechanged method and how do I write condition to skip above steps to occur, since I need to build a different request on click of subproducts asking for items.
