Updating / Modify The Record Of Textbox

Mar 20, 2010

I retrieve a record on my database through Page_Load event here's the content of my Code:

hMenuID.Value = Request.QueryString["id"];
//Display information of links on the entries
cnDBConnection.ConnectionString = clsFunction.strConnection;
cnDBConnection.Open();
cmModule.Connection = cnDBConnection;
cmModule.CommandText = "SELECT * FROM modules WHERE id=" + clsFunction.ReplaceString(hMenuID.Value.ToString());
rdModule = cmModule.ExecuteReader();
if (rdModule.HasRows == true)
{
rdModule.Read();
txtModuleLabel.Text = rdModule["name"].ToString();
txtModuleLink.Text = rdModule["link"].ToString();
cboParentID.SelectedValue = rdModule["menuid"].ToString();
}
cmModule.Connection.Close();
rdModule.Close();
cnDBConnection.Close();

So, the data appears on my textboxes and a combo box. I tried to modify the content of my textbox and click on the Update button. Unfortunately, there's no modification that happen. Here's my code in the Update button

Code:
if (Page.IsPostBack)
{
if (Page.IsValid)
{
cnDBConnection.ConnectionString = clsFunction.strConnection;
cnDBConnection.Open();
cmModule.Connection = cnDBConnection;
cmModule.CommandText = "UPDATE modules SET name='" + clsFunction.ReplaceString(txtModuleLabel.Text.Trim()) + "', link='" +
clsFunction.ReplaceString(txtModuleLink.Text.Trim()) + "', menuid=" + cboParentID.SelectedValue +
" WHERE id=" + hMenuID.Value;
cmModule.ExecuteNonQuery();
cmModule.Connection.Close();
cnDBConnection.Close();
}
}

TextBox Disabled Style Is Not Consistent In Different Browsers?

Feb 17, 2011

ASP.NET

When TextBox1.Enabled = false; it has a gray background in FF3, but no change in IE8 or Chrome. So it's harder to tell if it's disabled or not. Is there any more general way to make the disable textbox rendered more consistent on a top-level? So I don't need to change this for every page or every website?

Web Forms :: How Put Focus On The 2nd Textbox When All Is Done In The Iframe Page Codebehind

Aug 25, 2010

I have a page with an iframe on it in which I load another page.On this iframe page I have some textboxes above eachother.When the first textbox is filled with a code the textchanged event is called nd the code is checked with the database.After the code has been changed to the right one (if needed) I want the focus to go to the next textbox.

So at the end of the event I do: Page.SetFocus(txtbox2)ut after the postback refresh, the focus is gone.
I have also put the control to be focused in a session variable and then in the page_load event I set the focus to the control in the session variable, but still no focus on the textbox.How can I put it on the 2nd textbox?all is done in the Iframe page codebehind.

I need this focus because the two textboxes are filled via bar code reader and after the scan an "enter press" is done automatically and to be able to allow two scans after each other this focus change is needed.

Give Style Attributes To Sub-elements Inside A <style> Tag?

Apr 9, 2010

My <style> for thumbnails currently looks like this:

<style type="text/css">
img.TN {
width: 100%;
margin-bottom: 5.294%;
cursor: pointer; }
</style>

This is annoying, because I have to apply this style to every single thumbnail image individually, when there could be any number of them on the screen at any given time. All of the thumbnails are inside a single <div> that groups them together, and I'd like to apply a single style to the <div> that will push the attributes I need down to all of the the <img> elements nested inside, regardless how many thumbnails there are.

I'm using ASP.NET 2.0, and CSS 2.0

JavaScript - Mvc Script And Style References / Include Script And Style References That Will Not Break On Deployment

May 11, 2010

I'm trying to include script and style references that will not break on deployment, however I can not even get the references to work locally. I have tried using Url.Content() and MVCContrib's <%=Html.ScriptInclude("")%>.

My scripts are in a Scripts folder on the root of the site; my styles are in the usual Content/css/ folder.

The scripts render like this:

<script type="text/javascript" src="/Scripts/MicrosoftAjax.debug.js" ></script>

This will not work in a view page in the Views folder. What am I doing wrong and what is the best way to handle this?

I would have thought Url.Content() would at least work for styles but used in my master page, the link rendered

<link href="/Content/css/Site.css rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" />

This does not work, because the Master Page is in a Shared folder, so what is really the way forward with this?

This is what I want, but the code doesn't work. What more do I need to change to change the MapRoute?
