I have an ASP.NET PageMethod with the following signature:
<WebMethod()> _ Public Shared Function SaveCodes(ByVal codes As List(Of Code)) As String
I am trying to pass a JSON object to the PageMethod from the client side, but I get an error that the type String cannot be converted to type of List<Code>.
Here is the json that I'm building on the client and sending to the method:

I have been able to pass in simple data types and a single instance of the Code class, but I can't seem to find the magin to pass a List to the server method. Can anyone show me what I'm doing wrong?

I am creating an ASP.NET website in Visual Studio 2010 (.NET 4.0) in C#.
I have a user control applicant_information.ascx which contains text boxes.
The page application.aspx contains this user control:
<%@ Register src="controls/applicant_information.ascx" tagname="applicant" tagprefix="uc1" %>
<uc1:applicant ID="applicant1" runat="server" />
The application.aspx page contains a multiview, and the applicant1 user control is in one of the views. The button continue takes the visitor to the next view which contains another user control of text boxes.
I want to write validation code on the continue_Click event which is in the application.aspx.cs page. Ideally, from the application.aspx.cs code behind page, I want to get the user input from a text box in applicant1.
Intellicense cannot seem to find any of the text boxes in applicant1 from application.aspx.cs.

I have a ASP.NET web page which contains a table of check boxes and a button. I need to find the IDs of all the check boxes which are checked when the button click happens. Once the list of IDs are collected, it needs to be passed on to the server. I am able to do it using jQuery and PageMethods.How can I achieve this in the button click handler in the code behind file? i.e. the IDs of all the check boxes which are checked when button click happens.

I want to render a user control in pagemethod and return the html back to client. But its getting annoying, I tried like many ways but nothing found working. The problem is that, the usercontrol require both HtmlHead and ScriptManager.
I tried this but it doesn't work(raise error : ScriptManger require in page) because ScriptManager must be inside HtmlForm but Page.Form always null.

I need to force SSL when going to the final checkout page (for example from default.aspx to checkout.aspx).
I need to pass variables to this check out page and tried to use server.transfer(https://www.mydomain.com/checkout.aspx). I then use previous page .Fincontrol to read text box and label name to this check out page. If I only do the server.transfer("~/checkout.aspx") then my I can read all vakues of my controls from the passing default.aspx page.
But when I force https:// then I cannot read the control values from default.aspx page.
Please give me some tips on how to get control values to the https:// destination page or if you have another tips on how to do it the right way, please let me know.

The Situation: When there multiple PageMethod calls in a single page, each of the method call holds a lock on the Session object thus blocking. The PageMethod calls can be made asynchronous only with @Page directive is turned to False|ReadOnly
Findings: When the Page directive is default (read/write) but the session is not used anywhere on the page, the calls are not blocked. Any read or write in to the session at the page level blocks the pagemethod calls.
The Problem: Making EnableSessionState=ReadOnly at the @Page directive is very restrictive and don't want to take that route. Can the pagemethod calls not block? and still access the session? (may be not write but just read)

I am working with crystal reports. I created a button on crystal report viewer toolbar using the following code protected void Page_Init(object sender,
EventArgs e)
{
Control ts = CrystalReportViewer1.Controls[2];
if (ts.ToString().Contains("ViewerToolbar"))
{
ImageButton BtnExport =
new
ImageButton();
BtnExport.ID = "BtnExport";
BtnExport.ImageUrl = "images/pdf.png";
BtnExport.Click += BtnExport_Click;
ts.Controls.Add(BtnExport);
}
UpdatePanel UpdatePanel1 =
new
UpdatePanel
();
System.Web.UI PostBackTrigger trigger =
new System.Web.UI.PostBackTrigger ();
trigger.ControlID = "BtnExport";
UpdatePanel1.Triggers.Add(trigger);
}
My problem is whenever I click the button to export the report, it shows an error like below: Microsoft JScript runtime error: Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManagerParserErrorException: The message received from the server could not be parsed. Common causes for this error are when the response is modified by calls to Response.Write(), response filters, HttpModules, or server trace is enabled.

I wanted to know if we can pass values from Parent page (in this case from Default.aspx page) to the user control and maintain those values on subsequent "Add/Load" of user control.
So in short, if I click the "Add" button it loads my "webusercontrol" and also I am able to pass my default.aspx dropdownlist value to this dynamically loaded user control and assign it to a "Label or Textbox" which resides in my "webusercontrol", now the problem is that the value doesn't persists! What I meant is , when I click "Add" button again the "webusercontrol" gets loaded again perfectly but now all my "Label's" in webusercontrol has the new selected value from the default.aspx dropdownlist.
So say for instance I have a Dropdownlist in Default.aspx page with Values "Apple, BlackBerry, Nokia" and initial value to be passed is "Apple", I click the "Add" button, now my "Label" inside webusercontrol has the value "Apple", perfect! Next when I click "Add" button again and select a different value to be passed this time say "BlackBerry" now I have 2 webusercontrol loaded on the page, so that means I have 2 "Labels" with different ID's, but now my first Label initially had the value "Apple" because that's what I had passed and now when I passed the value "Blackberry" both the labels of my webusercontrol has the value "BlackBerry" instead of one being "Apple" and another "BlackBerry"
Is there a way to resolve this issue? may be Dictionary List?

I am able to find the controls of all of these Lables and TextBoxes accept the edateTB. This is strange to me because it is in the same view as the sdateTB. So why would edateTB return NULL when I try to use FindControl on it and sdateTB return the correct control?
Here is the codebehind where I am getting this error. There is more code in this, but I just thought I would include everything up to the part where I get the NULL error.
