I am using Http handler page to get images from database into gridview using C# in asp.net.I am trying to delete the selected row from database, when I click on delete button the row is deleted and the page redirecting to http handler page and firing the error "'Buffer cannot be null. Parameter name:Buffer'".And one more thing is I don't want to go to execute every time pageload event, how can I control this event also.
I am trying to create a link that is distributed via eMail. This link will direct the user to a View inside my MVC2 application. I will need to pass 2 parameters with this link. Background: The eMail is an invitation. The user will click the link inside the eMail to RSVP for a meeting. When the link is clicked I want the user to be directed to a certain controller action/view. The parameters will be an eMail address (string) and a meeting ID (int).
The controller action will use the parameters to process logic that determines what the view will display. An example using the following would be perfect:
I'm trying to build a link to an external website using some properties of my model class in my view page, e.g. I want it to render as something like -[URL]where post-id would be pulled from the model (I'm using a strongly typed view model here - I can't use ViewData as there's a list of items being pulled back all of which need seperate links).I tried doing < a href="<% model.PermaLink(); %>">, where PermaLink is just some string, however the value doesn't get picked up.If I try < a href="<%= model.PermaLink %>">, I get an error - CS1502: The best overloaded method match for 'System.IO.TextWriter.Write(char)' has some invalid argumentsIs there any way to do this? I tried adding the runat="server" attribute, however this just linked to my local site and controller/model actions.
I have a web application which consists of many aspx pages ... one of them shows a grid with rows that can be exported to a file via button click. This works fine. Now I want to have that feature which allows a user to access an external link to this page (or another) and to export to a file and download. I dont need any information on the page, just the file download. How could I do this also including security features like encryption?
am trying to get one of the webforms in my application to link to another website, outside of my application. I can get the page to load as a new webpage in my browser easily but I need to keep my masterpage in view.
I want to add some information, like an adress, in the header of an collapsible panel. I want to add a link to google maps to it in the header. But if i click on the Link, the panel collapses/expands but the click on the link will be ignored. I guess the click on the panel overrides the link :/
I want to crop an image at the server side (I am using 'JCrop' and 'ASP.NET 3.5').
There is a case when the user can add an image from external site to an article.I want to anable the user to create a thumbnail from that image and store the result on the server.
I am using Web Expression and Access database to build an aspx page.I am displaying records using listview Tiled option and DataPager is enabled also which is creating multiple pages.
I'm customizing a NopCommerce store, and am using a gridview to display and sort the products. All that works well. I like how the external pager (user control) works with the gridview, with one exception -- it uses the hyperlink control, so I lost viewstate, which I need to retain for both the search page and to retain the gridview sort options. Based on the page selected (from the pager control), I query the database and rebind the gridview. So, I switched the user control to use LinkButtons instead of Hyperlinks. This is the sample code for one of the buttons:

I set a breakpoint inside the lbCommandClick method, but it never gets hit. Reading other posts tells me that I would have to add the dynamic controls in the OnLoad method, but since this all happens based on other data on the page (say search results), I don't think I can do it onLoad. However, the link buttons do work to cause a postback, and my viewstate is saved correctly. The only problem is that I do not know which button was clicked. I could check Request.Params["__EVENTTARGET"] onLoad, but that is kind of a hack -- I'd much rather be able to set the event handler in the user control and use the CommandArgument property. But, what I have tried so far fails.
Especially one that would allow me to set the EventHandler in the User Control? (e.g. OnlbCommand="PagerLBPageChange" )
We are storing our images at Amazon S3. Let's say the location is [URL]I want to copy this file and store it in our server. Is it possible to do this using C#. I am using asp.net 4.0.
i have a website which has a <IMG> and/or <asp:Image> in it.
The user has an option to upload an image. so if the user does upload an image it will be displayed in the stated controls above. but if they don't the control displays its alternative text or an "x" icon. can i just place a default image in it if there is no image reference to it to display?
I am using visual studio 2008, I have created a rdlc report in which i have an image in the header part. i want to set the height and width of that image dynamically as they vary frequently, How to set the image height and width dynamically or its better how to set them to auto.
What problems might I encounter by using the HttpCache to buffer data from a web service, as opposed to storing the same data in a database table? In a hypothetical situation whereby the service was temporarily unavailable, if the server needed to reboot during that time there would be no way to re-populate the cache. So for that reason, is it possible to persist the cache like you could do with SqlServer Session state?
I read the HttpCache is implemented using the Singleton pattern. Does that mean I should be using Mutex when working with objects coming from the cache?
What will happen if the cache is being updated on the one hand by a separate threaded process while also being read by a different thread?
I am creating a web application using ASP.NET MVC 2 using the C# language. I have programmed in HTML, CSS, and PHP for several years and i am very new to ASP.NET. The part that i am having trouble with is the image gallery. The setup: i have a link on the navigation bar that goes to a "Galleries" page. This page will show a list of galleries. Each gallery has a title, an image, and a description. All of this information is pulled from an XML file. I'm using the XML file like a database. I wanted to use this method so that i could easily update the list of galleries and have the updated XML file automatically be reflected by the website. Now, the galleries should link to an "Images" page. This page will display a list of images within the gallery based on what gallery was selected. This page will also pull from an XML file. The problem: I cannot seem to attach a dynamic link to the image? I am also stuck and not sure how i get the correct View to display? I know i need to do something with the controllers and models, right? I have some code if needed?
I have a DTS script which transforms a Tab delimited text file to a table. I get the following error when trying to transform the data of a field that is greater than 255 chars:
[Code]....
I have seen this issue with importing from Excel with the jet 4.0 engine, however I am importing a text file.
An user posts this article about how to use HttpResponse.Filter to compress large amounts of data. But what will happen if I try to transfer a 4G file? will it load the whole file in memory in order to compress it? or otherwise it will compress it chunk by chunk?
So at the same time I'm reading, I'm compressing and sending it. Then I wanna know if HttpResponse.Filter do the same thing, or otherwise it will load the whole file in memory in order to compress it. Also, I'm a little bit insecure about this... maybe is needed to load the whole file in memory to compress it... is it?
What I'm wanting is in column two to get the picture of the car to display and make it so you can click on that picture and it will run a method in the code behind. Also I have this requirement where the picture click method mustn't require javascript to run.
I'm currently thinking about putting the image somehow in a link but I'm not sure how to display the image. Maybe the asp:Image but that requires an ImageUrl.
I have an invoke function that I call. It On the client side it reads a file and then sends the line to the server side function here and waits for a return. Here is the server side code:
[Code]....
What I find is that I will keep getting these error message as posted in the subject... It will work for some but others I get this message. Thoughts on how to avoid that, or is that just something I'll need to work around with timing?
