View 2 RepliesI need to send 4 double values to a webservice. Which is the best way to send. Array or Arraylist. I read some where that Arraylist has issues to serialize.I am using the following code on the client .aspx page to construct the arraylist.
Code:
ArrayList CapPlan = new ArrayList();
CapPlan .Add(Convert.ToDouble(TextBox1.Text));
CapPlan .Add(Convert.ToDouble(TextBox2.Text));
CapPlan .Add(Convert.ToDouble(TextBox3.Text));
CapPlan .Add(Convert.ToDouble(TextBox4.Text));
After this arraylist CapPlan is constructed, what would be the syntax to send this arraylist to a webmethod?
DataSet dataSetCapitalPlan = clientProxyobject.CapStock(CapPlan.ToArray(double));
And on the webservice side how can I receive this arraylist that was sent?
[WebMethod]
public DataSet CapStock(string As_of_Date, Array CapPlan)
{
}
I need to call this webservice from a ssis package.In the ssis package i should be mentioning the wsdl path of the webservice. How can wsdl path of a webservice be obtained?

XmlSerializer mySerializer = new XmlSerializer(typeof(SystemInfo));
StreamWriter myWriter = new StreamWriter(textBox1.Text);
mySerializer.Serialize(myWriter, sysinfo);
[WebMethod]
public void Reports(XmlSerializer xmlSerializer)

View 1 RepliesI have a webservice that sends the response back in XML format.I'm able to connect and call the webservice adding an external web reference to the Visual Studio project.Then in my code behind:As New servicename_addedLabel1.Text = servicename_added.Functionexposed(param1, param2, etc)With that code I can get the response in a large label and unstructured data. If I "view source" I see the XML structured data.I have tried to create an XML document without success.My goal is to parse the response and write it to a database separating all the fields.

View 5 RepliesI'm trying to make a call to a JSON ASP.NET web service with .NET.
It is ok when I send " { county : 'whatever' } ", but I get a 500 Internal Server error if I try for example " { county : 'It's ok' } ".
[Code]....
I've found some posts with examples but I cannot make it work:
" { county : "whatever" } " and " { "county" : "whatever" } " also works.
But either of " { county : "It's ok" } ", " { county : "It's ok" } " or any other combination that contains a single quote in the variable work.
How can I send a single quote inside a JSON call?

When I am outtin "{}" in data and remove the parameters from the webmethod. then it goes to the function. But when I pass any data it does not goes to the webmethod.
This code works fine when written in C#. But does not work with vb.net as cb.
Is there any problem in passing the data. or is there any other way to pass data in vb.net.
I have an asp.net panel having various controls including gridview. I have converted this panel into pdf and attached it as an email attachment using memory stream. Everything is working fine. <system.diagnostics>
<trace autoflush="false" indentsize="4" >
<listeners>
<add name="myListener"
type="System.Diagnostics.TextWriterTraceListener"
initializeData="d:debugging.txt" />

I have some xml data. I've made an asp.net soap based webservice that takes the xml as a byte buffer applies xsl transformation to it and converts it to a docx file. But when i return the docx file using the response object i get an error that client found response of type application/vnd-word but it was expecting text/xml.
Service Snippet to push document file after xsl transformation
Context.Response.Clear();
Context.Response.ClearHeaders();
Context.Response.ContentType = "application/vnd.openxmlformats- officedocument.wordprocessingml.document";
Context.Response.AddHeader("Content-Disposition", "attachment; filename=" + "test.docx");
Context.Response.Flush();
Context.Response.End();
I am using C# 2.0. I am trying to create a webservice that returns a pdf file.

I want to push a file to the browser from a website using a webservice. I'm currently reading the file into a base64 byte array, and returning that from the webservice. This webservice is called from a website, and i'm stuck on how to push this as the original file to the browser. Ideally I would like to read the byte array into a memory stream, and then just write it to the Response stream if possible so the end user just downloads the file.

But my webservice isn't hosted on the same folder of my website.
I mean: [URL] Is it possible to put a webservice on the same folder of the main website? Or it's not a problem ? (Can I retrieve the files in the webservice's folder from website?)
I would like to know what are the basic steps involved in setting up your application to able to read data from another application. Then take that data and modify it and send it back to the application.
The data being read will have over 100 fields.... what is the most efficent way to store them? Put them in a class object?
I know web services are involved..
The application is in .NET using vb
I am trying to put the namespace value as a key in web.config file, so that when I deploy this on production, I just have to change the namespace key in the config file only, not on all of my webservice cs files. But When I try to browse this webservice after changing this code I get compilation error.
web.config:

MyWebService.cs (this code works)

The problem I get if I use this webservice twice in 10 seconds I get the following error: "Cannot acces files because another process is using it".
I have a simple webservice that I would like to upload a file to. The problem is that I need the response in json.
Form my experience in order to get a response in Json my request has to have a content-type of 'application/json'. But ofcourse this cannot be the case with a file upload since the content type will have to be 'multipart/form-data'.
In my Json i want to return a value showing whether successful and a filename.

I am generating a Pdf file from a webservice to local machine. Once the pdf file is saved to local machine, i would like to print this file automatically without Popping up the Print Dialogue.
I mean without any user interaction that pdf file should be printed.
I need to access a resource file in a web application, using a WCF web service.The webservice will be hosted in the same domain as the web application, but its business logic is in another assembly.
How can I retrieve the correct resouce file (according to the current culture) from the business layer, and returning a List of KeyValue pair from it?
In my application I want to send an audio file (.mp3) as binary string through XML webservice, and save the binary data as audio file in server. In this case what should be the structure of XML file and how can I convert this incoming binary sting to audio file in webservice code.
Currently I tried a structure like the following
<XML>
<Files>
<File>
<FileName>audio_123.mp3</FileName>
<FileType>audio</FileType>
<FileData>![CDATA[ - binary data goes here -]]</FileData>
</File>
</Files>
</XML>
But it is not working correctly.
