Handle Querystring With JQuery Or In APSX Page?
Feb 16, 2011
I have the following querystring (where kvks is dynamic):
http://api.openkvk.nl/json/SELECT bedrijfsnaam FROM kvk WHERE kvks = 27312152 LIMIT 1;
If you execute this querystring, it will return json data.What is the best approach to handle this? I tried it in this way, but nothing alerts
url.append("http://api.openkvk.nl/json/SELECT bedrijfsnaam FROM kvk WHERE kvks = ");
url.append(Dossierno);
url.append(" LIMIT 1");[code]....
If yes, how can I send a querystring and return the json object on the getaddress aspx page?

With asp.NET control dropdownlist, there is a property AutoPostBack, if it is set "True", the whole page will be posted back.
If the aspx page include a html element "select" like:
<select id="list" name="list" runat="server"
DataTextField="Name" DataValueField="ID" ></select>
and it data is filled by code-behind.
Question is: how to allow this Select have AutoPostBack function too?

Recently, I have read an excellent tutorial from asp.net, MVC music store.
I have discover that we can access to variable in strongly typed views like this:
[Code]....
It is very powerful!
Can we do the same with Web Form in aspx pages?
I ask this question because I think that ASP controls for data are very strict like gridview; in fact my real problem is that I want to make a loop in my apsx code and I think that I can't in Web form...

I wanted to know what this extra querystring data is and where it's coming from.
jQuery.ajax({
url: 'MyFile.aspx/ProcessRequest',
data: JSON.stringify({status: status }),
async: false,
dataType: 'application/json',
[code]...
Using tamperdata and also viewing the Request.QueryString in the debugger the resulting url is:
http://localhost/Folder/MyFile.aspx/ProcessRequest?_=1298057136790&{%22status%22:%22pqs%22}
So where does this _1298057135790 come from and why is it there?

I am having an aspx page page1.aspx with a button button1. On click of button1, a modal window popup is displaying using jquery.
The modal popup is displaying another page page2.aspx . I have appended the following line in the load event of all aspx pages to handle the session expiration.So that on expiration of session, it will automaticaly redirect to sessionexpired.aspx page.
Response.AppendHeader(
"Refresh",
Convert.ToString((Session.Timeout * 60) + 10) +
";URL=SessionExpired.aspx");

Setup: I have a RadioButtonList with two listitems (One Street, the other Schools). These define what type of search I want. I textbox with associated autocomplete. First you select which search to complete, and then start typing and the autocomplete will make . Autocomplete goes out to ashx webservice which pulls a list from the database.
I have tested the webserver and it works properly, so I'm thinking the problem is with my jQuery UI autocomplete. <div id="divSelectOne" style="padding:8px 3px 8px 3px; border-bottom:1px dotted #cccccc; background:#f9f9f9;"> <span style="font-weight:bold; color:#369;">Select One:</span><br />
<asp:RadioButtonList ID="radSelect" runat="server" RepeatDirection="Horizontal">
<asp:ListItem Text=" Street, City, Zip or Subdivision" Value="Street" Selected="True"></asp:ListItem>
<asp:ListItem Text=" School" Value="Schools"></asp:ListItem>

I've got a webform in asp.net 3.5 that has two submit buttons. Each button has a corresponding textbox controlTextBox1 and Button1TextBox2 and Button2Button1 appears first on the page.When the user is entering text in TextBox1 and presses the <enter> key, the event handler for Button1 is fired appropriately. However, I want my users to be able to click the <Enter> key while Textbox2 has the focus, and have the event handler for Button2

I have a webcontrol that will exist multiple time on a page. I have some javascript (JQuery) in the control and when I have multiple controls on a page the functions get confused.I have seen plenty of stuff on why this is the case - basically my functions use set id's but i need to somehow make them relative.An example of a function ...
function showUploader() {
var img = $('#<%=ImgID.ClientID %>');
$('#<%=UploaderIFrame.ClientID %>').attr('src', '<%=ResolveUrl("~/Controls/EditableImageControl/ImageUploader/ImageUploader.aspx") %>' +[code]....
how to get references to the html elements in the web control?

After wading through quite a few articles on creating modal forms (using partial views and jquery) I got things working fine for my login....as long as you enter a valid login though!
What I did:
Created a partial view containing my login form.
In my action controller, the get action just return a PartialViewResult, which get dealt with by a bit of jQuery in my master:[Code]....
Like I said this works fine. Now the post action of my login check if it's a valid login, and if so send the user to the passed returnurl or the home page.
However, if the validation fails, I now return the partial view again, which work , but the partial get displayed by itself instead of rendering in the modal form that was opened by jquery.

My problem is this I have a base page that creates content dynamically. There are buttons on my Master Page that fire events that my base page needs to know about. But the OnLoad function on my base page fires before my Button_Command function on my master page. So I either need to figure out a way to load my base page after the Button_Command function has had the chance to set a variable or I must call a function in my base page from the Button_Command function.

The following code works well as long as I pass a querystring value to the datalist.
Private Sub BindGrid()
Dim id As Integer = Integer.Parse(Context.Request.QueryString("id"))
Dim strConnString As String = ConfigurationManager.ConnectionStrings("Conn").ConnectionString
Using con As New SqlConnection(strConnString)
Using cmd As New SqlCommand()
cmd.CommandText = "select Id, Name from tblFiles where Id=@Id"
[Code] ......
However, the page errors with the message "Value cannot be null." if I don't pass a value. I know that DataList does not have an EmptyItem Property like a Gridview control. I do not want the page to error if I don't pass a value. Need info to deal with empty values in a datalist.
Most websites have pointed me to this code to use:
<FooterTemplate>
<asp:Label ID="lblEmpty" Text="No Result" runat="server"
Visible='<%#boolean.parse(([b]list[/b].Items.Count=0).ToString())%>'>
</asp:Label>
</FooterTemplate>
The 'list' throws an error. The error is "Too few type arguments to 'System.COllections.Generic.List". I am not sure if the code is written in C# and that is what is causing the error. It seems that it should work but I can not figure out the 'list' error.

Looking for advice on passing variables from page to page without using QueryString. The web crawlers such as google get caught up on the querystrings found in a URL. I'm trying to get away from using it. Is there another suggested method for passing the variables? I've thought about using session variables, but this is just for simply passing the variable from page to page and they won't always be the same.
On another note, I can't do it using forms. I'm using a master page with a form embedded in the master page and also the content pages. Unless microsoft updated it so you can multiple forms on one page.

The homepage of an ASP.NET Web site that I am servicing contains a link to an ApplicationsGroupList, listing all of its applications. Clicking this link takes the user to an Application Group page, where specific applications reside under this particular group.
In C#, how can I create the ability for an enduser to link directly to an application group page by passing the Application Group name in the querystring?

I have implemented a lot fo JQuery features into my ASP.Net web application. I am using JQuery, JQueryUI, JQuery Validation and a couple of other plugins. They are all coexisting and working fine. This one page in my app has the JQueryUI tabs, Modal progress pop-up working just fine. This page also has a couple of JQuery AJAX calls to my server side events. That all works fine!
I just added a Jquery date picker to one of the text boxes on the first tab on my data entry form and nothing happens or is displayed when you click on the date textbox. I am going to post the HTML markup for the page and my JQuery code. Please let me know if you see anything glaring? HTML
