View 1 RepliesI am currently generating a .doc file as html using asp.NET.
I wish to insert a page break to the page but don't know how.
I've tried using the css style='page-break-before:always' but it does nothing.
This is the code assigned to a button click event:
HttpContext.Current.Response.Clear();
HttpContext.Current.Response.Charset ="";
HttpContext.Current.Response.ContentType ="application/msword";
string strFileName = "GenerateDocument"+ ".doc";
[Code]....
Is there a way to set page breaks in Gridview like Reports after certain records .
For instance I have a 3 groups each containing different number of records
I have an ASP app that gets a list of strings. How do I sort them on the version? I cant think of a way to do this.
Ths strings look like this:
[Code]....
One of my apps is to document aircraft inspection at mil sites. The discrepancy report for any one tail number can be many pages long. The description of the discrepancy in a gridview cell can be several lines. Therefore when the gridview hits the bottom of the physical page, the print spooler frequently splits the gridview row leaving part on one page and the rest at the top of the following page. I have done my due-diligence in research before posting but maybe I'm using the wrong words. I found something on CodeProject but it is too complicated for me. Does anyone have a simple solution? I use C# and am not very sharp with Java script.

Create a control 'ClassName' in file ClassName.cs. Path is c:ProjectWebuserControlsControlTypeClassName.cs
[code]...
The really bizarre thing is that the error is inconsistent.Sometimes the project builds, sometimes some files break the build, sometimes others do, sometimes all of them do.
I would like to know if someone can please help me with the followingI would like to create a bulk entering textbox...every sentence seperated by a line break should go in to the Database as a new column.....Im gonna use SqlDatasource for the inserting..How can I get all the sentences to break up at the linebreak and then get inserted in a separate database column?
View 3 RepliesI have seen on various websites how developers version their css/javascripts files by specifying querystrings similar to:
<head>
<link rel="stylesheet" href="css/style.css?v=1">
<script src="js/helper.js?v=1">
</head>
How is that done? Is it a good practice? I've been searching around but apparently, I'm not looking for the right terms. If it matters, I'm using ASP.NET.Edit:: I just noticed (via Firebug) that if I "version" my files (?v=1) they will always be loading and will always override the cache. Is there a way around that?
I'm looking for good approch for below requirement. I would appreciate if someone can guide me on this.
I would like to write a script,
1. which checkout the latest files from SVN
2. Then compile the solution files.
3. If some compilation errors, need to send a mail.
I'm not looking for any deployment as of now.
All I want to write the script to know is, can latest version of SVN tree compile successfull or not.
Without going into the background, I'm building a table by hand which will become the datasource for a gridview. I'm trying to insert a line break and neither of the following works:

We have an ASP.NET web application and it's hosted using IIS 6.0, in the app we have these several javascript and css files located in a folder, and for performance sake (according to YSlow) we set the folder content expiration header to 1 year. Everything worked just fine until recently when we deployed the latest build to the server, in which we had made some changes to those javascript and css files. For some reason after the deployment some of our end users don't see the latest changes when they connected to the app, even after they cleared the cache in IE. We have also restarted the IIS on the server and the problem still remained. When I went into the IE Temporary Internet Files folder on one of these machines I saw the files were still the older version and not the latest one, I had to manually delete the files from the Temporary Internet Files folder then they were able to see the latest changes. I'm baffled by this, how come only some users who couldn't see the changes but some others do (without having to do anything by the way), and how do I make sure that for future releases we won't have to do anything like what did (manually deleting the cached files)? For now I disabled the Content Expiration option in IIS for these files but I would like to know if there is a way that I can enable the content expiration (to help performance) but at the same time making sure when the files are updated, the latest version will be used for the end user (instead of the cached version)?
View 3 Repliesi am pulling data from database to the pdf file but i need to show those data in page by page. Here i am using iTextSharp for pdf. Is there any page break options. I did try document.NewPage(); But it didn't work out.
View 3 RepliesI am using Asp.net 3.5 vb.net.
I have a list view with details about some products, which is working just fine. However, I now need to set up a pdf generator to generate a stock list. To do this I am using abcpdf.
The only problem I am having is getting the results to fall across the pages nicely, but this can be sorted by inserting the code
[Code]....
which lets me put it every two records. How do I modify this to insert it every three?
What i am looking to do is to format my email notifaction better. Right now it just comes in one line and i would like to put a break to make it easier to read.
mailMessage.Body = txtIngredients.Text.Trim() & "<BR>" & txtDirections.Text.Trim()
How add Page break to Gridview Printing
My gridview size is 10 pages
And I want to print gridview with page break so that my page will get displayed without any row breaking on two pages.
I have a rdl report for displaying letters. When the content of a letter is very long(say 8000 characters), naturally on printing it will be printed in multiple pages. But when I do a preview, all the content is shown in one page only with vertical scrollbars. Can I have a page break here, so that I know the amount of pages my letter is going to consume on printing.?

How do you force a page break from your server side (VB page-behind) code in ASP.NET?
Can you change the pagestyle from the code-behind? I wanted to try : "pagestyle = "page-break-before:always" - but it was not an option in the intelisense menu...
So I have a repeater control that lists a bunch of information for each staff member...one after another. Problem is when I try to print this list I have staff records starting out in the middle of the page. I would like to solve this issue by forcing a page break at the beginning or end of each record/repeater item. How can I accomplish this?
<body>
<form>
<asp:repeater>
<itemtemplate>
<table>
<bunch of html>
</bunch of html>
</table>
</itemtemplate>
</asp:repeater>
</form>
</body>
I want to do something like this.

Are the Crystal Reports objects within Visual Studio (I'm using 2005) the full version or is it a trial version that is missing features?
View 1 RepliesWe have an application that is already deployed in the production environment. And currently it is using Dundas evaluation version. We tried updating it to the licensed version by simply pasting the dll file. but we got the error message as "The file has not been pre-compiled and cannot be requested".
View 1 RepliesI'm try to get my site to detect what browser someone is using to ensure they're using one that is compliant with our site. Everything works, except Firefox seems to post the wrong version in the Request.Browser variables.I'm on Firefox 3.6.10, but Request.Browser shows Mozilla 1.9.2.10. It's correct in the HTTP_USER_AGENT string:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.2.10) Gecko/20100914 YFF35 Firefox/3.6.10 ( .NET CLR 3.5.30729)
Is there a way to detect it better without having to parse through the HTTP_USER_AGENT string?
