I've scoured through the Forums about how 2 windows can interact with each other. There had been a lot of solutions involving parent-child windows, or modal pop-up wiows. However, my problem involves 2 aspx windows that show data from the same datasource, but should be able to update the data from either window, and after saving in either window shows the updated data
i have a partial website up as im having extreme difficultys trying to figure out how to save some information http://project.mcr00t.eu/ You can log into the site with any credentials atm there is no functionality for it atm, it will bring you to the users profile page which has a wall posting part to it, you can write on your wall similar to facebook.
The part im trying to get my head around is how to save that data so it stays on the wall im using asp and mysql? Can any one help?
how to save current page as a html page on button click. My page contains only labels which I fill on page load event.
I am using the code below for this, but it's not saving (in HTML) all of the values that I see when my page is loaded (I think it converts before the values get loaded on the page).
I have a zmags catalogue program running in an IFrame, and are using the shopping capabilities to send data from the zmags viewer to a specified URL where I want to catch the data. The data is specified as XML data and stored in a "ShoppingList" POST variable. I then need to extract those data from the xml and send them as POST parameters yet again to another URL because the shopping system I'm using requires a specific parameterlist to fill the shoppingbag rather than an xml file. And I suppose I only need the ID and quantity since the rest is already part of the shopping system. In short what I'm looking for is:
catalogue --> *XML in POST variable* --> ASPX / ASCX / VB / C# (solution) --> *new URL call with new POST variables* --> SHOP aspx
I've been searching all day for a solution to this problem with small advances but no real solution. I hope this forum can provide some precise help, since I've been reading a lot of posts which answer different issues. I can't change the XML format or the fact that I need to send the data inside the XML as parameters to a new URL. I'm primarily working in ASP.NET and C# or VB for codebehind. XML data example
I need to send a simple variable value from my WPF app to an aspx page. The page runs under an anonymous web site. What are the best practices to post a single value and ead it out on the other side (aspx)?
After upgrading our project to the .net 4.0 framework (from 3.5), we facing some problems with ajax calls with html in the parameters. As soon as the user enters some html in a text area the ajax call isn't executed anymore. If the user enters plain text only, there is no problem.
i am really confuse about the html dropdown helper. i cant reli find one info which describe clearly about every overload and how to use them.currently i gone through a problem which i spent one day and still cant resolve it, really hope can get the help here since i need to make tis work for my final year project..i have a food table, and a foodtype table. each food will have a type, so the FoodTypeID is the FK for Food table.i want to have a create and edit page for Food. on the page, i want to provide a dropdownlist for user to select the food typethe FoodTypeName column that store the food type description is at the FoodType table, so i need to get the value of FoodTypeID based on user selection on the dropdown.I had tried for hourssss to do this bt i either get a compilation or cant save the new foodType selected in db
[Code]....

I am trying to go to a view with a speicifed batchId parameter wrapped in a ViewModel, pick a file to upload, get the uploaded file back and store the file data w/ the associated BatchId value in a database. When the form is submitted I don't know how to get back the viewmodel and the PostedFileBase so that I can get the BatchId value.I need the batchId value to associate it with the data I am storing in the database.I have the following Action Method in my Controller to allow adding new customers to the specified batch by means of a file upload and import:
public ActionResult AddCustomers(int batchId) { var viewModel = new AddCustomersViewModel() { BatchId = batchId, //other view
Initially the hidden variable values will be bookId=1 and startPageId=5
I navigate between the pages by using javascript and assume the startPageId will now change to 8.I want the new value to be stored in the above form data and want to submit the same page with different form data
bookId=4 startPageId=10
When I click on the browser back button, I want the user to be navigated back to the BookId=1 and startPageId=8
I'm using the WYSIWYG editor TinyEditor (http://www.leigeber.com/2010/02/javascript-wysiwyg-editor/), and I'm having an issue recalling the updated data. I searched the forum and found someone else had the same issue:
Thing is, I think I've done everything in the post, but my code is just not working. When I click submit, the variable in the code behind (val) isn't capturing any data - Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
I've been asked to take over a project that's filled with a bunch of bugs. It's currently using MVC 1.0 and there's a view with Html Helper Data Grid that uses a DataGridHelper class. I'm not that familiar with all of MVC yet, and I was wondering if it is possible to have the sorting of the columns be a POST event rather than a GET.
Currently when a user clicks a column to sort, the controller for the view calls the GET action method. This I guess is all fine and good, but the problem is that this view has a search form (which is a model in it's own right) with some text boxes and some drop down lists. When the GET action method is called, I lose all of the information in the search criteria. So when ever someone searches for something, but then wants to sort the results, it requries the db for all records (because all of the search criteria is cleared).
I guess there could be two solutions:
1) Is there a way to access the items in the search form / model in the GET portion of the action method? I've tried using ViewData or adding a parameter for the search form model, but (and maybe I'm doing it wrong) both return null.
2) Is there a way to make the sorting event of a column call the POST portion of the action method? That way I'll have the search form / model information and be able to sort the search result content instead of query for all records.
Also, there is a stored procedure that currently can handel all of possible search parameters. So, no matter what sort column is selected, or search parameters are entered, it can properly setup the sql query.
I have a project in asp.net 4.0 IIS Win 2003 Server. It's working perfectly, but after a while, certain pages are asking to save, instead of open.Ai closing the browser and open the system again, with this back to work, but it's the same problem after a while accessing.

I am using HTML file control and HTML image control in .aspx page (for uploading image and showing on web page). It is working fine. But I am unable to get that uploaded image file path and file name in .aspx.cs page. And also tell me how to save selected image in MS ACCESS database.
I wonder if I have any other method but a hidden field to post a JSON object to the server on full postback.
Imagine you have a form (with textboxes, checkboxes, etc) and you need to post a json string when the user post the form. This means, I would post all the form values + the json string but I can't come up with any solution but a hidden field.
I need to process surveys. I have modelled them in SQLServer, just need to generate the forms to input it.I have nested SqlDataSource/DataLists. The outer gets the questions and the inner gets the various options as a plain HTML radio buttons. I can't use ASP.NET radio buttons because of a bug with them inside itemtemplates not mutually exclusive http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;316495Anyway, so now I need to know the which radio buttons were selected so I can insert the values in the database. What is the best way of doing it?
