I'm trying to edit an aspx page...mainly javascript, and I randomly see changes that I've made when refreshing.
I'm using jquery, but I'm not sure that jquery is the culprit here.
For example. If I add a simple alert("hello"); in the page I'm calling, I do not see it take place until I have cleared all my temp files and cache, closed my browser opened back up...and even then, sometimes, I still don't see my changes.
We made some changes to the default.aspx page our website, but those are not taking effect. If changes are made to pages in sub-folders it just works fine. Only that the default.aspx page is acting weird even though they are just changes to the markup.
View 4 RepliesI have made some changes to the markup in the default.aspx. It renders perfectly on my development server but doesn't render on the production. We are using ASP.Net 2.0.

Let say I want to put some animation code at (3) that will be executed and then proceed with BeginRequestHandler function. How should I do that? Because right now the whole process executes 3,2,1 and I dn't know how to add that delay between steps 3 and 2. In other words I want to execute step 2 manually at step 3. Don't really want to use hidden buttons to do that.
i would like to know if there's a combo like jCryption (jCryption) - PHP but for jQuery - ASPX.I mean, I have been searching for a combo to send data both ways (Client-server, server-client) with jQuery to ASPX. The best I found was jCryption that sends data from JavaScrpit to PHP. I need a combo to send data from JavaScrpit to ASPX.
PD: Please don't tell me to use HTTPS, it's not enough to ensure the data communication on a client - server application.

View 2 RepliesI'm wondering if you can use a lightbox with aspx pages? For my project, i'm trying to make some kind of search tool in that lightbox. On my default page , you have a img link that opens a lightbox (with an aspx page) In that lightbox, when you click a button (asp button), the page renders like a normal full browser page with the same content. The page should stay in that lightbox and rendering the results in a listbox. Is this possible? Or is this the wrong way?

They all are rendered properly, however, when clicking on any asp:button in any section page, the entire main page will be replaced by the section page even the asp:button is just popping up a message box.

i built contact form in aspx 3.5 and i'm using jquery to send it to web service (asmx).the web service need to return success or error code. the problem is that at the web method i get only single value and not array. View 2 RepliesAt the moment, I have an aspx page with a tabcontainer (ajax toolkit). Inside each tab, I have a little form or other content. At page load, each tab is loaded. Technically I can load the tabs at tabclick (with use of update panels) but this result in unnecessary data traffic.
Is there are a way or example how to use jquery tabs that loads aspx content (html)?
This way we can still use vs.net design tool with aspx pages and load data in a much smarter way.

I am trying to open aspx page in jquery modal popup. Its opening fine, but if i am firing any event of that page(page which is inside modal popup) i am getting javascript error:

I am looking for a filtering mechanism, as the user types in the drop down box I want to filter the list to the list items that match what the user is typing. Is there any premade control for this or does anyone know the best way to achieve this feature?

I build my website in jquery manner. On document-complete I request data from server (by page method) and put it into html by jquery template. So, I wonder, would this HTML be visible to Search engines crawlers? And if not, how to make it visible? Is there a common solution? Or is it a great disadvantage if jquery?

Normally if i use 10 checkboxes and 1 button in default.aspx then it works fine ... if i use 10checkboxes and 1button in usercontrol then drag that usercontrol in default.aspx then it will not work ..

I have an aspx application using Entity Framework 4.0 and SQL Server 2008. Everything works fine. It's an internal application, so we developed a basic backend for routine maintenance. Some minor data updates are done directly into the SQL Server using SQL Management Studio... the problem is those changes are not reflected in the application! Only after reseting the web service or the server, the new data is displayed.

I am using asp.net and I need to display a prompt to the user if they have made changes to the web page, and they accidentally close down the browser.
The page could be anything from "Edit Profile" to a "Submit a Claim" etc.
How can I can display the messagebox, ensuring that it is displayed only if changes have been made (as opposed to, the user making changes, then undo-ing the changes, and shutting down the browser)
