Make Call From Javascript Slider Through Aspx Page
Mar 1, 2010
I've created a C# function which extracts data from an mssql database, formats it to a json string and returns that. Now I need to make a call from my javascript (jQuery) slider through an aspx page that is related to the C# code file. I have actually never done anything like this before, from what I could tell by googling I need to use xmlHttpRequest, but how exactly do I make the function get hold of this string? It would be awesome if someone had some example code that shows how this works.
how can i call javascript function from code behind from my Page.aspx.vb. in my Page i have a button i want to add this function to my button onclick="refreshParent();"
i have the following function in default.aspx.....i have webusercontrol which have 10 checkboxes and 1 button .... i want when i click on button1 of user control then it can access the function of default.aspx ...page ...if i dragged the usercontrol to default.aspx
Normally if i use 10 checkboxes and 1 button in default.aspx then it works fine ... if i use 10checkboxes and 1button in usercontrol then drag that usercontrol in default.aspx then it will not work ..
I have a system set up to lock certain content in a database table so only one user can edit that content at a time. Easy enough and that part is working fine. But now I'm at a road block of how to send a request to "unlock" the content. I have the stored procedure to unlock the content, but how/where would I call it when the user just closes their browser?
How can I call a public property declared on a ASPX page from a different ASPX Page? Is that possible? It is a website project. How can I get/call this property from a different aspx page? I have attempted this from the other page, but it is not recognizing the partial class: private Test_Default _test; It does not recognize the "Test_Default"
My web app is using a sliderextender to allow the user to change the distance. After the slider handle is moved and the mouse button is release, I would like to call a function to query the results and rebind my datalist.
I am writing an ASP.Net application. I am making use of master page in it. I have several child pages with me, which consist of some java script functions; Let's say;
function ChildPageFunction() { //Do something; }
And master page java script function as;
function MasterPagefunction() { //Need to call ChildPagefunction(); here }
Now is it possible to call ChildPageFunction() from MasterPageFunction()?
I have an aspx application with 2 aspx pages. Second aspx page will get opened on click of a button in first aspx page using JavaScript. The problem is, when the second aspx page is getting opened, its Page_load event is not firing. Only when I refresh the second page, page_load event of second aspx page is fired. what might be the problem and what is to be done to fire the page_load event.
I think I summed up the question in the title. Here is some further elaboration...I have a web user control that is used in multiple places, sometimes more than once on a given page.The web user control has a specific set of JavaScript functions (mostly jQuery code) that are containted within *.js files and automatically inserted into page headers.However, when I want to use the control more than once on a page, the *.js files are included 'n' number of times and, rightly so, the browser gets confused as to which control it's meant to be executing which function on.What do I need to do in order to resolve this problem? I've been staring at this all day and I'm at a loss.
I have an asp.net 3.5 page with between 5 and 15 dynamically created sliders/textboxes. I would like to have a button that the user can click to reset all the sliders to 0 (far left position).
I have no problem finding the sliders and setting their values; the problem is in redrawing the sliders back to the far left position. No matter what I try, the sliders stay exactly where they were, even though their values are all now 0.
Am I missing something? I'm trying to do a simple ajax call using jquery to a web service on my site and I get a 500 error every time when I make the call from the master page. Has no one ever made an ajax call from a master page or am I just crazy and extremely deprived of sleep?Example:
If I call newpage.aspx directly, I get a "URI Formats are not supported error"
I think its close, though. this solution is needed to get around the fact that skype does not have an https option for its skype buttons which tell the status of the skype user. Creating this proxy page will allow this to work without causing a 'mixed' security alert in the browser.
I have a list of items that loads when I call the page controller and I have an Ajax.BeginForm that calls the same (Index) Action. If the Action sees that it's an Ajax request (Request.IsAjaxRequest()) then it returns a partial view. I even have a div that contains a message about the results loading. That all works fine, but my results can sometimes take awhile and I'd like to hit the page first and then make the Ajax request so the user sees the page quickly and sees the "loading" message. I know I could click my filter button (triggering the ajax call) using jquery on document.ready, but is there a more MVC way to do this?
When we set allowpaging=true and specify the pagesize=xx, and when we change the page of the gird view then, does paging in gridview make a database call when its page gets changed ?
i have many aspx pages in one folder (100 pages) and they will keep increasing. I have 1 vb.net file which has the code for these pages. Can i call that pageload event in vb.net file from all these pages?
currently im using this code, but its not reading the pageload event.

vb.net page code -
Public Module NewOne Public Sub NewOne_Load(ByRef Page As Web.UI.Page) end sub end module
I have written a sample web service, which consist of certain .aspx pages. I have written a code to consume webmethods from that web service. Now, is it possible to load the aspx page which is a part of the web service from the calling web application i.e. from another aspx page which is outside the web service.
How this scenario is;
I have one web application running with a page say Page1.aspx in browser. 2. I have created a web service which is having an aspx page say Page2.aspx. 3. There is a button on Page1.aspx. 4. Now, when client click on the button, is it possible to load Page2.aspx, which is not a part of web application, but the web service.

What I am trying to do is, get response obtained in Gen.aspx and pass it to default.aspx page.
I have created a web application. I have a page "Default.aspx" and some other page say"test.aspx". In test.aspx, I am setting some values in a collection object and then setting this object in session. I am not getting but somehow during execution of test.aspx, the default.aspx gets called where the session containing object gets reset. Its very important for me to know whey this default.aspx gets called even I am not making any call to it. I have other pages also like a.aspx,b.aspx, c.aspx, d.aspx and many more. All other pages work fine.
I have a JavaScript slider which calls the follow functions:
var prm = Sys.WebForms.PageRequestManager.getInstance(); prm._doPostBack('ZoomButton1','');
The ZoomButton1 is tied to an UpdatePanel and does a partial postback. In this case, when the Slider is constantly be dragged left and right, the value is changing/updating and JavaScript is hammering the postback extremely fast. It is so fast, the server sometimes but not always reports a pagerequest manager error, I believe.
I know that I can set it to just update my data (updatepanel) on a button_release or a mouse-up.. but occasionally, I still encounter the pagerequest manager error.
I want to make ASPX page with textboxes and dropdown to insert the data into the database and Gridview to display all the data. I wnat some good designs, how can I make the page more attractive with just textboxes,dropdown ,buttons and gridview.
Do somebody have good aspx page, paste just the design here.
