I have problem when try auto download in another page that already been specify. In current page, I have button to trigger to redirect page to download page, but I wish to download done automatic, even it don't done automatic. It can be done using link to download file. File name wish to download, transfer using querystring, cookie, or session (I using cookie is this case). The redirect page and download from link button, work perfect just like I wish. But the problem is auto download dont' work properly. This what I already trying to do about problem auto download:
using if (!IsPostBack) condition. The download work, but the page don't redirect to download page and even that update progress keep running. (Actually i put update progress for purpose generate file before redirect and download).using timer. When is not postback condition, I trying enable the timer with interval 2sec.When in timer event is trigger i disable timer and trying download it. But the problem is timer dont disable, keep every 2 sec to download file.
Per different user mode, some pages should not be accessible by users unless they have a valid session key.In your opinions -- would it be better to have a list of acceptable pages in the master page, and check if the current page is valid for the current user? Or handle this on every child page?I'm thinking master page, just want to hear what your input would be.
I'm about to submit my pad file to multiple sharware sites but the pad file has to have a direct link to the download file and can't link to a download page which is what I would like to do, so I can track the traffic and get the downloader's email before allowing the download. I am running an ASP.NET site in VB. Is there a way to tell the web app to redirect to a specific aspx page when it receives a request for a specific file?
But if I do that the current page will be erased and return blank to the user.
Other examples says to create "download.aspx" and request it by javascript, but on a this new page I won't have access to the ViewState data of the first page.
The point is, how can I create a file, launch the download and don't lose the current page status?
I have to do a web form that once the user has completed successfully and click the "I Agree" box and submit the form that redirects to the page where you can download some files. These visitors are not "users" in the sense of Drupal (no username / password, log back, etc), so I do not think the profile is actually the correct method vs Webform but should only be able to access to this page through redirection Webform.
I have a logon/register control that is on several pages. Users are logged on with code: - FormsAuthentication.SetAuthCookie(Userid, False) Response.Redirect(Request.Url.AbsoluteUri) ' Round trip is necessary to complete logon
All this was working OK, except that there was a problem with Internet Explorer users: if their browser had the default privacy setting the authorization cookie was rejected. There was no message, but they were not logged on. See [URL] To try to solve this problem I changed to cookieless authentication, but now the logon control doesn't work. The problem is that after cookieless authentication the URL changes from
[URL]
However Request.Url.AbsoluteUri remains http://localhost:3641/TestGDB/login_pages/home2.aspx even after the logon, and so with cookieless authentication the user is not logged on as there is no authentication ticket in the redirect URL.
The problem is "solved" by changing the Redirect statement to Response.Redirect("~/login_pages/home2.aspx") which works perfectly for this particular page, but is obviously wrong when the control is on other pages.
This action has a pretty high likelyhood of throwing an exception (or at least not being able to return the file).
Due to the nature of the application (which contains a lot of dynamic content), I can't really redirect to an error page in this situation. The current page needs to stay open somehow.
So I'm ideally looking for something like a javascript pop-up, but afaik this isn't going to be possible since I don't know any way to return a javacript instruction in a non-ajaxed controller call. If I display an error page I need to force it to open in a new window some how. Is there any possible solution to this problem?
I have 40 record in database. But I am displaying 10 record in each page in store grid by using grid pannel.Similarlly, I am using Ajax for events. But the problem is when I refresh the page or grid, it shows first record in first page. how can I get current page data when refreshing data?
I am using some code similar to the code below to open a word document on my ASP.net app. Once the file has been downloaded and opened I then want to either redirect to another page or refresh the screen but nothing works after response.end and if i add it before response.end the browser never downloads the file?
What is the easy/safe way to get all HttpContext.Current data (like querystring, etc) in the previous page, after response.redirect or server.transfer to another page?
I have a page that is used to add info from a gridview into a user's profile. I have explained my issues after all of the code. Here is the applicable code(s) involved:
Protected Sub AddToCart(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As CommandEventArgs) For Each gvr In GridViewItems.Rows Dim txtGiftAmt As TextBox = (CType(gvr.FindControl("txtGiftAmt"), TextBox)) If txtGiftAmt.Visible = True Then Dim customPrice As String = txtGiftAmt.Text.ToString 'HERE is where I would like to set the new price variable value somehow End If Next Dim scart As New ShoppingCart scart.AddCartItem(e.CommandArgument.ToString()) Response.Redirect("~/ShoppingCart.aspx") End Sub
This sub is called by the following button when clicked:
[Code]....
Here is the sub from the ShoppongCart Class named AddCartItem:
[Code]....
Here is the problem that I am having: I have one specific item that allows user's to define their own price (for this item only). By putting this price in a session variable seems to be the easiest way to handle this (at least for me), but the session variable's value always "lags behind". By this I mean that the first time the items is entered, it uses the default value of cartItem.ItemPrice. The second time the same item is added (with the intention of a different price), this new item's cartItem.ItemPrice is set as the first session("customPrice").
Because the user is selecting his/her own price for this item, I am not worried about lack of security involved with using query string to pass this price, but I can't get the string passed to the ShoppingCart class correctly (shows up null). Is there a way to append this customPrice to the current page's query string before the Response.Redirect takes place? If I understand this correctly, the Response portion "posts back" to the current page before the Redirect sends us on our merry way, right?
I have a data driven asp.net website with frames on the top, left, right and center screen. If a page generates an error on any of the frames, I want to redirect the whole site back to the Default.aspx. Currently, when a frame page errors in one of the frames, that frame gets the error pages. Site is URL.... Is this something that can be handled?
I am looking for a way to figure out the current URL that the page is currently on (NOT what the asp.net page currently is, but where the CODE is at). ie. My web app is located at: [URL] my code is: String page = [URL]
String response = GetResponse(page); //basically the above code goes to the website [URL] and parses the HTML within it and brings it back and populates the variable string "response". But, sometimes the [URL] throws me a curve ball and redirects me to: [URL] I want to be able to use a try/catch to be able to "catch" the error of a different page: ie validateUser.aspx. So, I need to do to this: try
{ String page = [URL]; String response = GetResponse(page); } catch { //code to check the behind URL to see if [URL] is the URL OR IF [URL] is the current URL }
understand I know how to find the URL of the current page the web app is on. I need to find the current page that threw the exception during the execution of the code behind.
I am experiencing an issue with the TreeView control when loading new pages. It is databound to web.sitemap, but when loading a new page, it does not select the node of the current page, just resets it to the root. THe new page loads fine, just not preserving the current navigation in the tree view.
I'm new to ASP.net (and coding in general) and I was very impressed about how easy is to learn enough to create something useful :)
Unfortunately, now I'm stuck on a problem involving gridview sorting and paging: I created a master gridview bound to an sqldatasource, I enabled sorting and paging and then I linked it to a detailsview to enable editing and inserting.
In addition, I set up two other gridviews whose datasources depend on the master gridview.
When a user selects a row and modifies it in the detailsview, the sort takes place and the row is often moved to another page. This can be a little confusing, especially because there are other controls relying on the selected row of the master gridview.
There's a way to find and select the page of the selected row after gridview's databind and sort take place? I tried creating a dataview to search the index of the selected datakey in the databound event of my gridview, but it doesn't work, because it seems that the rows aren't sorted yet. Maybe I should choose another event?
I need to be able to programmatically determine the doctype of the current page (.aspx), whether its set directly within the page itself, or via a master page. The reason is so I can output correctly formatted html from custom controls or components based on whether the doctype is plain html, xhtml, xml
I have a master page which has several ContentPlaceHolders. Not all of them are used by the current content page all the time. During page rendering the master page needs to set a property when a ContentPlaceHolder wasn't used by the current content page. Meaning a ContentPlaceHolder might not be referenced by the content page. What's the best way for the master page to iterate through its ContentPlaceHolders and find out which ones haven't been used by the current content page? Looking for a solution that does not involve any communication from content page to master page.
i have four web pages like(home, aboutus, contactus, loginform) and 1 masterpageby using link button i am navigating 2 this pages... while navigating the total page is refreshing... i dont want like thtonly content place holder should change.... without refreshing the page....
