I have installed all on my server 2008. When i got to /localhost/sitecore/Website/sitecore. i get following error. what should i need to do Description: An error occurred during the processing of a configuration file required to service this request. review the specific error details below and modify your configuration file appropriately.

After checking the asp.net version on the web server it seems only the version 2.0 is available and so when I browse to the site i.e. http://servername/site
then I get this error below. Should I put something in the web.config file to solve this issue?It seems the error is to do with the reportviewer control I am using.

I have a ASP Web App that has been fine when deployed but now I've introduced Crystal Reports to it and is fine when testing.
On my Web Setup Project Ive right clicked, Add, Assembly and included:-
CrystalDecisions.Reportsource.dll
CrystalDecisions.Shared.dll
CrystalDecisions.web.dll
Ive run the setup on an pc away from the development environment but when connecting I get:-

We have created a new cname for our subdomain website. The new website is working properly with cname. We do have .net application inside the webiste which is not working with cname. I have seen a few posts regarding this issue but not one specific to my problem and I have no ideas as to what I need to do to debug this.I have some combo boxes on an aspx pages, when I select a value from the first one, it fills the second with value and so on with the third and fourth. This works with no problems until I wrap an asp.net UpdatePanel around the combo boxes and try to "ajaxify" the whole process so the page isn't dancing around. I just got a new computer with Windows 7 and installed IIS, including support for ASP. I am running everything locally on my computer. A simple statement like <% response.write time() %> works fine, so ASP is working, However, when I try to run a page that accesses a database (at least, I am assuming that that is the root of the problem) then I get the unhelpful error message:An error occurred on the server when processing the URL. Please contact the system administrator.If you are the system administrator please click here to find out more about this error. I have no idea where to begin. the database is in the same location as it was on with my old computer, and I have adjusted permissions to the database so that everyone except Creator Owner has full permissions - for whatever reason I am not able to change Creator Owner permissions.

i have a web application which which proccesses some request on some data that client selects, when the client selects more than 20 objects and clicks on proceed the client recieves this error, because the server takes a long time to process, however if the records are less and hence a timely response is recieved, no such error comes?

I just finished setting up the environment for an ASP based web app on a Windows Server 2003 machine, IIS 6.0, ASP.NET 4.0., with custom service account.This is not a domain based setup, so I have created mirrored logins on both servers (WEB server and SQL Server 2005). Everything works just fine except the fact that every time I try to browse the main page, a login pop-up window will request login password confirmation. I tried many things so far. Making sure IIS is in NTLM Authentication mode, checking access rights for the local login I created, workarounds I found on MSDN, etc.
This happens only if I change the Directory Security to not allow anonymous access (Authenticated Access - Integrated Windows authentication only). If I keep both, or only anonymous, everything works fine.Is this the intended behavior? Am I doing something wrong here?I already tried everything I found on MSDN regarding these types of errors. If I do not enter a password for three times in a row, the error says "HTTP Error 401.1 - Unauthorized - Access is denied due to invalid credential."

I want to be able to (in code) tell the page to refresh at that point ignoring anything else it was going to do.
Explanation:
I have a property lets call it AllUsers
AllUsers
{
return Database.GetAllUsers();
}
Now I have put it like this because in my code I want to just use this property to browse all the users and not have to check if its null or not up to date. The problem is if my method .GetAllUsers() throws an exception e.g. database is unavailable. If this happens I want to display a message to the user and reload the page to its initial state.
e.g. something like this

return Database.GetAllUsers();
}
catch(Exception e)
{
AbortAllCodeAndReloadAndDisplayMessage(e.Message);
}
}
Now I can reload the page using Response.AppendHeader("Refresh", "0;URL=ThisPage.aspx");
but how can I abort all code? because if I use this where I have placed my method the code will run and then reload on the next page load.
Should I change by property design? I wanted to have a property which would always be valid and up to date so any code using it wouldn't have to worrie

I spent the better part of today hunting down an elusive error. I was getting a message saying that it couldn't find the Index view for the Home controller, and it gave a list of locations it searched, e.g., ~/Views/Home/Index.aspx. This was really confusing as the file definitely existing and was at ~/Views/Home/Index.aspx, the first place in the list of locations it searched for the view!
What I eventually discovered was that there was a file that did not get published when I used Visual Studio's "Publish" feature (this is on the "Build" menu). That file was Views/Home/Home.master, and (as you can probably guess) is the master file used by Views/Home/Index.aspx. Once I copied that file into place manually, it started working. But I am left wondering--why??? Why does this file not get published? It's a part of my project, I can see it in the solution explorer, and it's obviously a critical file that's necessary for the MVC app to run. It has the same permissions as every other file in my project. So why wouldn't it get copied? And how can I fix it so it does get copied?

I have a Asp.Net application eg its name is ABC and I have a server eg whose name is XYZ, where the application is hosted from. The default page for the application is Home.aspx.Now the requirement is I want Home.aspx to open automatically when the server name is typed in the URL. Currently for accessing the Home page I writehttp://XYX/ABC/Home.aspx but I want Home.aspx to open if I writettp://XYZCan anyone suggest how I can achieve this. I have one solution that is making a HTML page as default in IIS and then redirecting it to the respective link.
