To Download The Dll Files And Use In The Project Instead Of Writing The Whole Code From The Scratch?

i am trying to work up with captcha in my sign up page.Having a google search,i found a .dll which i implemented in my project and it worked fine.Now i want to know that is it a good idea to download the dll files and use it in the project instead of writing the whole code from the scratch?What are the disadvantages of using a dll instead of writing up the entire code form the scratch?
I'm in the process of setting up a project's development environment from scratch. My company has used various technologies, but this is the first time we're able to focus on the development environment for a .NET project from the ground up -- and I'm the lucky guy who gets to make it work.
I'm actually very excited to do this, as it has the potential to become a pattern for repeated success across multiple projects.
I'd like your help to assess the build process that I'm using and shout out where I may find myself running into issues.
So, here goes--
Server Side:Windows Server 2008 SQL Server 2008 (relatively small / low traffic DB, wasn't worth devoting a separate VM in dev) VisualSVN for hosting source code (just easier to manage on Windows), Trac hooked into VisualSVN for wiki/bugs/tracking NAnt for automatic builds / running unit tests FxCop (potentially) as another set of tests from CruiseControl to check framework best practices CruiseControl.NET for continuous integration, to automatically call the NAnt build and run NUnit / FxCop tests when new source is committed. Dev Machines / Tools:VS 2010 NUnit CSLA (potentially) to use in developing our business logic layer NHibernate or Entity Framework (potentially) help facilitate OR/M
I know you can copy a Website intact to the server and have it run normally (security and compilation time aside). What about the projects that are in the solution? [whose dll's are copied to the bin when built]. Is there a way to copy the projects' code files to the server as well?
My goal is to be able to debug [by modifying code in the project if needed] directly on the server without having to install an IDE [or keep building on dev machine and copying over dlls]. I can debug/modify the website files, but not the projects.
I'm populating a generic list from an excel file that contains names of pdf files. Now I want to take each item in the list and create a file from it. Here's what I have so far:

So now, the list called lines contains names of 900 pdf files. How would I take those names out of the list and create files from them?
When I turn on Code Coverage in my test settings, on a project that references the Unity DI container I get the following error:
Cannot initialize the ASP.NET project'{Project Name}'.
The event log specifies the following reason:

i'm using stream writer to write a text file on client machine, but everytime while i'm writing a new file it over writes the existing one..so now i need to write seperate file each time ...and also i need to create a folder dynamically for first time and save text files in that folder when everytime i use my application....
I have write small web-service that recieves query and read txt file for matching. For it I'm using StreamReader.
I'm not waiting that it will be thousands of users in hour for this service, but whats worried me - if some users at the same time will be use that service is it ok? Can text file on server side be readed at same time from some users?
What is capacity for using StreamReader or StreamWriter on server?
I am having difficulty using C in the VS IDE. No matter what I write the code always has errors and I am not able to see the end result. I don't understand VS and being that I am supposed to be taking Programming in C as a class, it is hard for me to get my work done because I don't understand VS and I really don't know how to match the two up.
I am creating an site where a user uploads an excel file to check if any of the records exist in a database. Then they are returned an excel file with only the records that are NOT in the database. I was thinking I should do it this way1. User uploads their excel file. The app opens excel file and loads records into a dataset (so far this is working with the code below)2. Using datarow and another function to check if each excel record exists in the database3 If the record does NOT exist, and it is the first record tested, create an excel file called records.xlsx and write the record into the file
4. Check the next record and if it does NOT exist in the database, then check if records.xlsx already exists then open it and write it into it.

Hopefully its clear, sorry if its not, I'm a bit of a novice at this. Is this a good way to do it? Does anyone know of any tutorials that might outline how to open an existing file and write to it?

User can select the file he wants from a list of available files (RadioButtonList) and clicks on download button to download it. I'm working on a project in ASP.Net, and it requires reading/writing to files on my server. I'm hosted at GoDaddy, and they swear they've got me at Medium Trust. When I try to read or write files that are in my own domain, I get Security Exceptions. I've tried multiple ways of opening/saving the files and they all return security errors. Here's the most recent error and offending line of code (I didn't save them all, they're all pretty much the same thing):

I've also gotten the error when trying to read/write using FileStream, Bitmap.Save and new Bitmap("ornament.png"). Could there be a problem with my Web.config? Is read/write supposed to be blocked by medium trust? This is a time-sensitive project and this is a brick wall for me. The deadline is end of business day tomorrow and GoDaddy isn't responding.
I am doing a code review of a web project and want to make sure I have all the compiled dll's. I was provided only three .dll files for static analysis but wonder if I am missing any because when I looked at the actual code base and project it contained 20 various .cs files.All that I have opened shared a single namespace, but what was odd was the namespace was not the name of any of the .dll files. How does .net compile the application in the dlls that are found in the /bin folder? how does it get the names of the dlls? How do namespaces fit into this?
I just want to ask , how to claer logics , and how to think Logically While writting code ... As i am working from the past 4 months My Seniors always ask me to think logicaly just post this qusetion bcoz i thought these things are happening to me ?
I am using Visual Web Developer Express with VB.net and have a website with 2 pages in them called "Tables.aspx" and "Variables.aspx". On the Tables page the user is required to enter a variable name in to a texbox, which I want then to take the user to the Variables page and have the gridview display the sql result. In behind the search button on the "Tables.aspx" page I have the following code.

On the "Variables.aspx" page I had decided to use data readers which brought up only one of the columns however I realised using data readers would mean I would have to individually position each textbox which I am not sure how to do.

i am doing a webapplication where any asp.net control i am using is not available while i am writing code in code behind. e.g- i am using a DataList but i did not find DataList1 in the pop up to show my data in .cs page. i dont know what is the problem .
I'm currently trying to work out the best way to build this web application, which will then be intergrated on other systems, such as WinForms, Intranets etc.
We hope to include the usual layers i.e. DAL, BLL, BOL and UI but I have been experimenting with Entity Framework 4 and WCF Data Services and managed to get something in place where I was using WCF as a gateway to EF4.
i.e. Adding a Service Reference to my project and then using the EF4 context and writing LINQ queries against the DB
e.g.[Code]....
Now with the current setup I would still need to write a DAL Class Library, that interacts with the Data Service, because as I said WCF Data Services only seems to be a gateway, I can't see where to put the code (above) in the Data Service and then how I could these methods.
My questions are: 1. How do I develop a WCF Data Service in such a way to allow this behaviour - I know how I could do it using ASMX web service, something like [Code]....
2. If I am to use WCF Data Services, how is serialization handled (if at all) - again I know how to do something in ASMX web services
3. Again, If I am to use WCF, how do I add Security and only allow my applications to access the web service - for obvious reasons
4. Would it be possible / logical to also include the Business Logic Layer into the web service?
