Aug 31, 2013I have uploaded a .jpg image and resized as Small and Large thumbnail. The small image is (135 X 173) but after resizing the small thumbnail image file size is of 40.8 KB. And mostly all images (around 64) thumbnails having file size more than 40 KB. Due to which thumbnails taking lot of time to get display.
Is there a way through which we can reduce the image file size upto 8 to 12 kb, but without effecting image quaity??

Reduce The Size of The Image In Code Behind before uploading?
Mar 18, 2011I am using a sql server 2008 database and I am uploading images to the server using an asp.net webapplication. I have an image column that I use to store the images. I have chosen the database to store the image and not a folder on the server, because the database table will contain only very few rows. maybe close to 10 or 15 rows.
My question is, Do I have to reduce the size (dimensions and quality affecting size on disc in kbs) of the image in code behind before uploading it to the database or do I keep it as is. The total upload size permitted is 200kb. I am thinking that when the image size (size in kbs) is small my webapplication performance will not be affected when displaying them from the database.

Dec 14, 2010In my web application, I have used AJAX Toolkit and my .net version is 3.5. When I run the application and save the page, so many ScriptResource.axd and WebResource.axd generate which makes the file size 200 to 300 KB more big. After doing the same procedures mentioned in the above link, it was working fine as all ScriptResource.axd and WebResource.axd file is removed.
But when I go from one page to another page using on click, then Object Expected Error comes and when I debug it,I found one ScriptResource.axd file containing query string like .axd?d=-bA.like this and Request. GetResponse cannot find the file and it gives 404 errror (File Not Found).

Jul 16, 2010On my webpage I am loading 30 .jpg Images and a .SWF(Flashfile) that takes 4 MB. The problem is that when the Page is loading in, this 4 MB flashfile is loading in together with the images wich makes it to take very long time.
What I would need to do, is to load the webpage with all its images First and when the webpage is loaded, now I will need to load this 4 MB flashfile in the background. When this file is loaded to memory, I will start playing that in a loop in this Flashcontrol that I have.
How is a scenario like this possible to do? I struggled with it before but couldn´t solve it.

Aug 11, 2011I have written a website and let the user upload their photo. It also resizes the picture to 400 x 400 and crops automatically to the center part of the picture. All of this works good but each file is about 355K each for JPG and PNG file formats. I just tried GIF and it is 49K but the picture is grainy when saved this way. Is there any way I can get the picture to a smaller file size with keeping it at 400 x 400? I really thought PNG would be the way to go and was surprised by it being the same as jpg. I don't want to lower the quality either for JPG files.

Opening the WCF service URL in the browser works fine - If I go to the URL (http://localhost/website/GetTree) I get the JSON (looks just like opening XML in browser, with syntax highlighting and collapsible tab thingys)

and during loading the page in some browser we can see some parts of site load faster than the other parts of the site where as we want to indicate (or instruct the web server) to load some of the areas first then load rest of the page.
is there any particular setting in IIS for is there any particular method in classic asp for doing that?
