Im developing a web application. I've to create a grid view which displays the brand and model of Mobile handsets. In edit template i've added a dropdown list box for brand and model. The user have to select brand, the model dropdownlist should display its respective model names of the selected brand. How to accomplish it..

I have a gridview that have some boundfield and a table inside a tamplatefield. That table have 6 input (hidden) that binds when the page load.
How can I get the values of those 6 input inside the table from server side?
I know how to get the boundfield values , with

I create a gridview in the code behind and fill it with a dataset. I want to provide some information about the data in a label above the grid. In the code posted I want to be able to say something like "Story county has 6 overdue tasks, Polk county has 12 overdue tasks, etc ..." I have a listview that is showing its result by using a linq query. The linq query goes like this.

The problem is when I put the user control in template field of a GridView.

There is no way to hook the event handler to the control in Page_Load because I cannot get a reference to tsbMorning. So I did it in the RowDataBound event handler of the GridView, where I also do a bunch of other row-specific stuff. Although this builds and runs, the event is never actually subscribed to and so never gets fired.
So the question is - how can I handle an event from many instances of the same user control within a GridView? I am calling the same bit of code regardless of which user control is actually clicked. I only need to know that one was clicked.
OnSelectedIndexChanged event for the dropdown is the fired.
I have set the autopost back value = "true", EnableViewState ="true" for page tag and gridview tag.
Basically as the title of this thread states, I have a FormView that has a GridView inside it and my ObjectDataSource that populates this grid cannot access the Grid.
The Control Id needs to be the name of the Grid I want to access, however through the 'wizard' the Control parameter drop down cannot 'see' the grid I need, only the FormView that is in.
I have tried numerous ways to get round this and am struggling now..

I have a number of controls on a form i.e date pickers text boxes and dropdownlists. Firstly i need to set up some validation rules on the search button click event so if one control is populated then another needs to be and others shouldn't be etc etc
Then based on the values i need to return a dataset to the gridview showing all the records where the criteria meets all the values. I just wondered the best way to do this... i.e should i use validators to test for the rules(they may be too complex though). Should I just create a string and pass it as filter to the full dataset or use a stored proc and pass the string as the where criteria? This would mean a dyanmic proc so I'm not sure if there are any benefits as it won't cache on the server .
On update the dropdown value shows NULL in database : here's structure for my gridview

I'm having difficulty trying to create and persist controls inside of a gridview during postbacks. I have an unbound Datagrid control which is created with x number of rows and y number of columns during the Page_Load event.

During the RowDataBound event of the GridView, I create a placeholder control and then I create a label and add the label to the placeholder

On the first page load when navigating to the page, the grid dispays perfectly and the labels are created with no issues and I can see the "1" in every single cell of the Gridview. I basically need the labels in the cells to store an ID when the cell is clicked (the click event works with no issues, wired it all up with javascript) and Since the Cells to not exist prior to "Building the matrix" method, How can I persist the Label controls inside of the tablecells between postbacks so I can assign and read values from them.
I've read a number of online posts from 4guys from rolla and they demonstrate how to persist a handful of controls dynamically created in a staticly defined PlaceHolder conrol outside of the complicated setup of the gridview and have failed at adapting them. The golden rule seems to be to 'recreate' the controls during Page_PreInit during the postback, but I can't seem to get it working.
I hav a gridview in which i display the project name,created date,Start time ,end time ,total hours along with the task id field which is visible=false.
