I have an issue where the screen goes white for a millisecond on a redirect when rendering the new page.
This causes the screen to flicker and annoys me so.
I have had a little scoot round the web and have found this IE solution which works on IE however it does not on chrome or FireFox.
<meta http-equiv="Page-Enter" content="blendTrans(Duration=0.0)" />
<meta http-equiv="Page-Exit" content="blendTrans(Duration=0.0)" />
Plus I'm sure using this method will have some knock on effects on update panels and Ajax controls.
Is there a way of setting the server to render the full page before giving it the client so not to have this white millisecond that works for all browsers.

I have tried following code but i am getting error:

I have upgraded web application from VS.2008 to vs 2010. I was using previously ReportViewer 2008 control in a page and replaced with 2010 ReportViewer Control.
I have installed the ReportViewer Redistributable also in my local pc as well as in the server. Also as per the new requirement I have placed the Scriptmanager in the web page where the reportviewer control located.
While running the page, the reportviewer run the report and is not showing the data on the screen. It shows the blank screen. But If I export the data to execl or world it is showing the data. Also the page numbers in the reportviewer showing the total pages available in the navigation bar. I am sure the report is running and bringing the data to the screen but not showing it.

I want to show a waiting image/progress bar on page load event. In page load event, some code is being processed for displaying a report which takes 1/2 minutes to display on the aspx page, meanwhile the aspx is being empty and nothing is displyed, this is not so userfriendly. So, I want to show an image indicating page is being processed. I tried searching in google and found some code samples but couldnt achieve my target. How to implement this. Requirement is nothing but: Display an image/progress bar until the report is processed.

I have some difficulties in one of the web based projects that I've developed.
It's a country wide project and database is big, so the waiting time is getting increasing. I tried to write non- complex queries and set up index on some important fields that are being searched as well.
Is there any other way to enhance the efficiency and performance?

Is there a way of stopping the main page waiting for a usercontrol to load before it can finish loading?
I have a usercontrolthat has to do a lot of DB calls which can take a few seconds making the page slow to load. Ideally I'd like the main page to load straight away and then the usercontrol content appear when it is ready.

I have created my first MVC application. I am using forms authenticataion. I have created a custom action filter MyAppAuthorizationFilter which inherits from AuthorizeFilter. Inside this filter I'm authenticating the user credentials by checking them against a database table (by overriding OnAuthorize method). If the user is not authenticated, I am redirecting the users to a login page (which is view of LoginController). I am using this filter agaginst my main controller so that all actions in this filter will execute only if the user is authenticated.
I do not have any problem when I use the asp.net development server (shipped with Visual Studio). But when I deploy the app to our IIS7 server, I can see the login screen when I access the default url, but after entering the credentials (both correct and incorrect) and posting back the Login page, it stays on the Login page (clears the pwd, but not the username). Its never getting redirected to the home screen or invalid login screen.
IIS 7 server has .net framework 3.5SP1, but no MVC. So I deployed the System.Web.Mvc dll in the bin folder.
Here's my Code (I've omitted the views and models as they are not needed here):
[MyAppAuthorizationFilter]
public class MainController : Controller
{
//
// GET: / [code]......

I am using the below code where I put this tag on a .aspx page:
"<a name="tips"></a>"
Now if I from another page run the code in the hyperlink to navigate to this page2 where I have the above tag. The page will scroll down to this tag automatically where this tag will be at the TOP of the screen.
My question now is if it is instead possible to scroll to the position where you have this tag at the BOTTOM of the screen instead ?

Is it possible to take a screen capture of a particular area of a web-page from the web-page's own ASP.NET code?
I need to display 6 images that are stacked on top of one another using CSS, and I'd like to offer the user the ability to right-click save-as if possible by stacking the screen capture on top top of the original image stack.

What is better way to large upload file. using a web service or in application itself. If in application, how can we check that files is to upload. actually i dont want user to wait for complete uploading, when it starts uploading user will get response of uploaded and uploading will be done in backgroud. I am not sure this type of task can be done in webservice also so that user doesnot need to wait for complete uploading. and one more query which event fires when the page redirects to another page. Is it Page_UnLoad or Dispose.

I have to call a function to run a report through a web service, then call another function to get the data but only after the 1st function has finished processing. How do I make c# wait till the first function has finished processing to run the second function?
my code looks something like:
NetworkCredential Cred = new NetworkCredential("uid", "pw");
ReportWebService reportService = new ReportWebService();
reportService.Credentials = Cred;
string s = reportService.runReportAsync("0ede9884e6394daf73fa418e9bffd4fc");
string report = reportService.getReportData(s);
This code will break because s is not set since the function (runreportasynch) has not finished running to produce s.

I installed MS SQL Express 2008 with Advanced Services including Management Studio 2008. When I connect to the SQL server of my provider (shared hosting - one SQL server for many customers), it takes very long (up to serveral minutes) until all DBs are displayed in the object explorer (from which I then have to choose my DB). Somebody told me, the long waiting time occurs because Management Studio first checks rights (whichever rights that may be) with every DB that runs on the server.
But in Management Studio 2005 the behaviour is different - the DB Tree in the object explorer expands immediately! No waiting time! Does anyone know a solution for this? I don't want to install two separate versions of Management Studio just because of that!

I have a static method that I use to control REST styled HTTP codes when my mvc application encounters an exception.
The method looks like:
[Code]....
This is static becuase then I can call it within an action or inside a filter. The problem I am having is that when I call RaiseException inside a filter, it stills goes into the requested action. Response.End() doesn't seem to have any effect. Any clues on how I can get Response.End() to work when called?
