I am developin an web application with ajax. In this application I used autocompleteExtenter control. Normaly, it shows only one row without column name. But, I need to display four columns and their column name also. it should display like this when i type somehtng in textbox..so, how to display 4 columns with their header names in autocompleteextender control?

I want to add the header dynamically during runtime in grid view. I am implementing an attendance application where I want to show the report as absent or present for the last few days for a subject. 1 means present and 0 means absent. How to bind these dates as header during runtime these dates i am getting from database.

I'm using AutoCompleteExtender to pop up some matches when user doing input to a textbox. The utoCompleteExtender will call a method defined in a webservice to get the data.
It works fine in IE, but in FireFox there's nothing happened at all.
I started the webservice in debug mode from VS2008, and set breakpoint in the webmethod. I found when I run the web app in IE, the breakpoit will be hit, but when I run the web app in FireFox, the breakpoint will not be hit. That means the rendered Javascript by AutoCompleteExtender doesn't call the web service.
What might prevent the Javascript from calling the web service in Firefox?
i have a gridview bound to sql datasource with template fields binding the columns. I have set the Header Style to a css class. I have 3 columns not bound to data as Add, Edit and Delete. When I set the text color to white for the header only the non bound columns go white. The bound columns are BLUE like hyperlink. Any one know a way round this. (If I set the style in the gridview the all columns are white. Want to set in external css file).

The calendercontrols header has a display similar to Month, Year eg, September, 2010.
Is it possible to customize this display to September 2010. i.e. I want to remove the comma between the month and year. This is a business requirement.

View 14 RepliesI have an autocomplete extender working great returning one column and I can also retrieve multiple columns just fine from my stored procedure, but here's what I really need to do:
1. Format the data in the autocomplete extender in the following format:
Location Number
Address
City, State, Zip
2. When the user makes a selection I want only the Location Number to populate the textbox.
I've looked quite a bit on this site and others on how to do #2 and I can't seem to find exactly how this should be done. Is there some javascript that needs to be involved in order accomplish this?
I'm have a project that uses a TabContainer. When I view the TabContainer from my local IIS it displays fine. When I run this from a production environment I'm getting tiny gap & a border line below my TabPanel Header. My browser is IE 8.0

As in the example there can be multiple rows returned which all need to be displayed. I'm trying to stop a very large horizontal scroll bar being required. I've been searching as much as I can but haven't found anything that fits what I'm looking for.

Any better way to freeze columns? I see alot of examples on the net using css but they use expression which has been deprecated.

View 1 RepliesI have a gridview control which gets data from database. One of the column is a checkbox and based on the value of the checkbox, I need to display 2 more columns. Currently I am having 2 issues:
1. I am able to achieve this when OnDataBound event gets triggered. Basically I am checking the row state and type and if it is in Normal mode I check the status of the checkbox and based on the status I am setting the style on the columns I want to hide (columns contain checkboxes). But for some reason, I am not able to hide the header. The GridView shows the header but the text boxes which are in the columns are hidden.
2. During Edit mode, I have attached a javascript to the checkbox and when the status of the checkbox changes, it hide/unhides the columns, again header cannot be made hidden. Also, if I use the Visible property of the header, I can make the header invisibly (only using the code behind) but when javascript is invoked on the checkbox during edit mode, it cannot find the controls as they are not visible and hence does not do anything. Since TemplateField does not support style property I can't even set the style["display"].

i'm using visual web developer 2008 express edition, i added the ajax toolkit to the tools without issue. SOME tools, like the accordian (and others) allow me to drag and drop them onto my forms. but others, such as the autocompleteextender wil not allow me to drag and drop them onto a form. i just get a circle with a line through it (as if to say - this is not allowed) - why is that?
i tried coding the extender in manually like many examples i've seen online:
