AJAX :: Set Location Of UpdateProgess In The Middle Of A Page?
Jul 26, 2010
I have a update progress control linked with an updatepanel in my ajax application.
Currently the UpdateProgess control is placed right after a menu of my web app, there are some chart and grid on the page, I want to show the UpdateProgess control in the middle of the page, if possible, add some effect like gray out the background, is it possible? how do I do this?
I am using the Ajax UpdateProgress control. Though it is working just as I expected it to work, I want it to appear at the center of the page. How do I do that
I know practically nothing about AJAX, but fully intended to utilize it in the future. Right now though I am noticing a behavior that may require that I implement it sooner then I planned.
I have been working on a fairily sophesticated web form that is made up of tables, dropdown lists, map buttons, and labels. As various controls are selected, specific tables are enabled or dropdowns/labels populated with information. All of this is working great, but when I put it all on a server and accessed it from a remote location, I noticed that every single action caused the entire page to reload.
From what I have read, it looks like AJAX and the UpdatePanel control will allow me to only refresh those areas that should be refreshed. Before I look further into implementing this, is this the only way to go? From what I have read on some other blogs, the UpdatePanel has some high performance costs.
So I got a textbox with an autocomplete source pulled from a database. I am using the follow code to fill the Autocomplete.
txtResource.AutoCompleteCustomSource.AddRange((From row In myComputers.Resources Where row.Active = True And row.ResourceTypeID = CBOResourceType.SelectedValue Select row.Resource).ToArray)
What I would like to do is autocomplete for items in the middle of the search term. For example I have, "Cat","Dog","Dog Horse", "Cat Fish", "Horse Fly"
When I type in Cat my results are: Cat and Cat Fish When I type in Horse my results are: Horse Fly
I want the results for Horse to be: Dog Horse and Horse Fly. How can I do this?
I am trying to implement UpdateProgress on the GridView. I want to show the Progress image in the center of the Gridview. I added onUpdate javascript function that gets the corrdinates of the grid to supposedly show the progress control in the middle. It does show in the middle of the Grid except for the first time. First time when I click on the grid (pagination/sort), the progrss control is displayed center left edge of the grid. Not sure
I have a modal popup extender in my page. I use the master page, because of some layout reasons we commented default Doctype in masterpage. (
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "[URL]" ) project is developed using VS2008, .NET3.5 .
I sepcified X="10" and Y="120" for modalpopup this works fine. but the problem is when the user scroll down the page he wont be able to see the modalpopup ( it always shows in the corresponding X,Y position). If i remove X,Y values horizontally it showing fine but vertically we are able to see only half of the popup window. how can we always show the popup window in the middle of the screen(eventhough user scrolls the page). I am using latest ajaxcontroltoolkit (3.5).
I have the need to fire off a modal pop-up inline. I have a modal panel defined, and works when I click a test button on the page. Unfortunately I need it to work like this:
1.) A user clicks a 'Save' button
2.) In the code block for that button's Click event, there is a check for a certain constraint.
3.) If that constraint exists, I need to show the modal pop up and determine if the following code in the Click event is executed based off of the return of that modal pop up.
Easily accomplished using a Forms message box. But this is an ASP.net app. What I've tried so far is creating a button that uses a style with "display: none" and programmatically firing off that hidden button's click event. Unfortunately the code does execute but no modal pop up is displayed and the code continues to execute.
My web form is pretty simple. It has to have three lines of text/ASP.NET elements. The Master page has a header and a footer. I need to center those three lines in the middle of the page vertically and horizontally, especially if the bottom changes. How do I do this with CSS?
We have a very simple ASP.Net page for uploading a file to our webserver. The page has no controls - a client uses it to automatically send us a file each night.
On occasion, the file seems to not get to us, but the client reports that they have sent it.
We added some logging statements to the page, and discovered something quite odd. The page ceases to execute right in the middle of a log statement. No exceptions, just up and dies.
Here is the code-behind:
[code]....
I assume if there was a error in the transmission of the file that either an exception would be thrown from the reader.ReadToEnd() line. And if not an exception, I would expect the page processing to continue but that I may only receive part of the file (in which case it should log something).
The logging statement is only accessing a string variable, and it's inside a try-catch. NLog is the logging component we use, and we access that through the facade provided by the Simple Logging Facade project on Codeplex. So, we trust the logging component to be more or less bulletproof - we certainly don't see anything in our usage of it here that should be causing problems.
Why on earth could this page just up and stop processing like this?
The fact that we get a half-finished logging statement seems to point towards an error being swallowed in the logging system - but that just seems so unlikely - and we have NLog's internal logging on and it is not reporting any problems.
I am using TabContainer with some controls on each tab (asp: labels, text boxes). When redirecting to the page that contains the TabContainer, the tabs and their content loads as expected, but when there is a postback, and the page refreshes, the TabContainer UI changes - the font size of the labels gets bigger, the text boxes become bigger and their location changes a bit (not aligned as before), and the tab header is partially hidden. I am using IE7.
I dont know if this is relevant but in some of the text boxes i use edit mask extender as well for date. Also, I have used a table inside the TabContainer for layouting the controls.
URL....This link shows a demo that let user to put origin and destination then get direction. I want to know how to add a option which is let user to use their current location as origin location (Location from).
I have a table in my database, in which a certain field holds the locations of text or doc files (the files are of a transcript for a chat session).
In the Gridview right now i able to show the link locations. But i want to have Hyperlink or Button in the links location in the Transcript Location fields. And on the click of which the txt or doc file opens up in notepad or microsoft word.
Following is my code when user enters hospital name and city, he will be navigated to this page to show location on map. Now I want to get user current location and draw the route between current location and destination. Is there any way to integrate to geocoding and geolocation?
When using Animation extender intellicence is working when i am at this level asp:animationextender ..>,even after that <animation > and <profilebindings> is coming, but after that when wrighting any code intellicence is not coming. Is some settings requiredIf this the behaviour, how can i know the keywords that are used within <Animation> or <ProfileBinder> ?
I have a page with 5 buttons on top. I want the area below the buttons to contain an update panel that will display button 1's panel if they click button 1. If they click on Button 2, then I want button 2's update panel to replace the button 1 update panel. Each panel has stuff on it like check boxes and text boxes.
Is there a way to do this? Is there a more efficient way to do this?
I am using a modal popup extender to show a user control from a web page. I also used another modal popup extender inside the user control. When i try to show the inner modal popup, it displays at the bottom of page. when i scroll down the popup also going downwards. What can I do to place the inner modal popup at the centre of first popup?
I am currently using the LoginStatus Control to display the Login/Logout button. I want to change the location of the login page. Currently the login page is on login.aspx (default) but I want to have it so that when the login is pressed it re-loads the current page but attaches GET variables such as ?action=login to the URL. Reading through the .net documentation I found this: Quote: LoginStatus control provides a link to the login page defined in the application configuration settings. I'm not sure which configuration setting this refers to. Where exactly can I edit this value?
Here comes the noob question of the day... along with a little background to give the best possible response.I have been working with Intranet asp.net/vb project. A few (3 - 5) .aspx pages had been created before the project was handed down to me, along with a DataAccess module and a ReportTools module (both of these modules are located in the App_Code directory. Things are starting to get slightly more large-scale now, with a dozen or so pages, and I'm looking for the best way to organize my files, classes and modules.
I have a single .aspx and .aspx.vb webpage that needs a specific class to be implemented which will hold values accross post back. This class will only be used within this specific page, no where else. I could create this module (or class) within the App_Code directory, but it would seem better to have this class file located in a folder with the implementing page. An example would be (using the attached screenshot below) having a folder within "Merchandising", which will be titled "SalesRecapByDate" and within this folder will exist the SalesRecapByDate.aspx and SalesRecapByDateData.vb (my class/module). Only problem with this, I cant figure out how to import the class/module into my .aspx.vb page.So my question!! Would it be best to:A) Have a folder within the "Merchandising" directory, to hold my page and its corrosponding class?B) Create sub folders within App_Code to organize things a little better according to how / where they are used
getting an update page to return to the list positon of the just updated item.i have a long list of jobs (inserting a paging helper is a future project) that can have several operations performed on them.these operations take the user to a new page to get further info. when the info is submitted the list is loaded again, but at the top of the page.i have added an anchor tag to each item, but am unable to build the link to the anchor:
return RedirectToAction("Index#" + new { id = Head.ID });
gets translated into "<site>/Index%23246" where 246 is the id.in other words, the # is being converted somewhere to %23.so am i on the right track here, and just need to find a way to stop the # being translated?or is there a better way to get the list on the main page to scroll to the correct item?
I've got a click tracking AJAX function (calls a WebMethod on an .aspx page), and I need to call it when the user clicks through to a link.Unfortunately, I'm using window.location = "newUrl" to change the page, which seems to make the AJAX call fail. Is there a way around this?I do not need to get any information back from the AJAX call, I just need to make sure the WebMethod is called'm aware that I could just redirect on the success() or failure() calls, but then I would have to wait for the clickTracking() method to run, which takes ~ 1s. That is not acceptable by the agreement in the project spec, and so is not a viable solution.
