View 1 RepliesWhen running the ASP.NET Development Server, everything is working fine. However, when I deploy my asp.net application to the production server (IIS 7.0 integrated mode, fresh install), my location tags in my web.config file are being ignored.
Case in point: I'm using forms authentication, and when the user arrives at my login.aspx page, the external css & js files are not being loaded...even though I have specified that those files should be available to all users (auth'd or not). However, once the user is logged in, the files do in fact load.

I'm using an asp textbox and a search button. In Safari if I click the search button i get redirected to the search results page using javascript window.location.href. But strangely the same javascript will not redirect to the page if I press return in the textbox. Using the alert function I can see that window.location.href has the the correct url and the location bar at the top changes from the search page(default.aspx) to the search results url however when I click OK to the alert box the url at the top reverts back to the default.aspx page. It works on ie7/8/firefox/chrome but not safari. Here is my javascript,cs and aspx code:

I implemented the Location tag in the web.config file to authorize the anonymous users for Images folder. I deployed the code in IIS6.0 with Forms authentication mode enabled for the virtual directory. I disabled all other authentication modes. When I browse the login page, Images are not displaying. When I set Anonymous authentication in IIS6.0 for the Image folder, it works fine.

fileupload control doesnt allow to select multiple files, then what i did , i select a file of directory and by coding i got its directory path. and showing all files of that directory in checklistbox control.So now user can select multiple files and can send selected file. View 2 RepliesI have a page with 5 buttons on top. I want the area below the buttons to contain an update panel that will display button 1's panel if they click button 1. If they click on Button 2, then I want button 2's update panel to replace the button 1 update panel. Each panel has stuff on it like check boxes and text boxes.
Is there a way to do this? Is there a more efficient way to do this?

When i try to show the inner modal popup, it displays at the bottom of page. when i scroll down the popup also going downwards. I've got a click tracking AJAX function (calls a WebMethod on an .aspx page), and I need to call it when the user clicks through to a link.Unfortunately, I'm using window.location = "newUrl" to change the page, which seems to make the AJAX call fail. Is there a way around this?I do not need to get any information back from the AJAX call, I just need to make sure the WebMethod is called'm aware that I could just redirect on the success() or failure() calls, but then I would have to wait for the clickTracking() method to run, which takes ~ 1s. That is not acceptable by the agreement in the project spec, and so is not a viable solution.

Within an ASP.NET Webforms application I need to serve static content from a local client machine in order to reduce up-front bandwidth requirements as much as possible (Security policy has disabled all Browser caching). The idea is to serve CSS, images and JavaScript files from a location on the local file system referenced by filesystem links from within the Web application (Yes, I know, WTF's galore but that's how it is). The application itself will effectively be an Intranet app that's hosted externally from a client but restricted by IP range along with standard username/password security. So it's pretty much a hybrid Internet/Intranet application but we can easily roll out packages of files to client machines. I am not suggesting that we expect nor require public clients to download packages of files. We have control to an extent over the client machines in terms of the local filesystem and so on but we cannot change the caching policy.
We're using UpdatePanel controls to perform partial page updates which obviously means that we need to Microsoft AJAX JavaScript files. Presently these are being served (as standard) by a standard resource handler within IIS/ASP.NET. Ideally I would like to be able to take these JS files and reference them statically from a client machine, and no longer serve them via an AXD.
My questions are:Is this possible?If it is possible, how do we go about doing so?
In order to attempt to pre-empt some WTF's the requirement stems from attempting to service a requirement with as little time and effort as possible whilst a more suitable solution is developed. I don't see a property that would help define the location where matched items should be displayed. I have a strange behavior where if there are multiple matches, AutoComplete extender displays the list of matches nice right below my TextBox. However, if there's only one match, it's displayed some 30 or so pixels above the TextBox. Strangely, I find myself hitting the up arrow key because the suggestion is displayed above but looks like the expected behavior is down arrow.

I used Ajax collapsible extenders (1 to 9) with formviews in each of them on a web form.
They are all collapsed by default. If the user enters data in collapsible 5 formview and submits data, the page refreshes back to the top of the page (where the collapsible 1 is positioned). I would like the focus to stay in the region the user is working (even after insert/submit operations). How can I do this.
I have a text box in a page. I added RequiredFieldValidator and ValidatorCalloutExtender to that textbox
it works fine in IE and firefox ie, ValidatorCalloutExtender popups near to textbox.
But in Google chrome the ValidatorCalloutExtender popups far from textbox.
I know practically nothing about AJAX, but fully intended to utilize it in the future. Right now though I am noticing a behavior that may require that I implement it sooner then I planned.
I have been working on a fairily sophesticated web form that is made up of tables, dropdown lists, map buttons, and labels. As various controls are selected, specific tables are enabled or dropdowns/labels populated with information. All of this is working great, but when I put it all on a server and accessed it from a remote location, I noticed that every single action caused the entire page to reload.
From what I have read, it looks like AJAX and the UpdatePanel control will allow me to only refresh those areas that should be refreshed. Before I look further into implementing this, is this the only way to go? From what I have read on some other blogs, the UpdatePanel has some high performance costs.
After the implementation of ajax drag and drop, we have observed that which is working fine in IE and Firefox and not in chrome and safari, In Google chrome and Safari when we try to drag a module, the page getting scrolling to the top of the page.
