How do I do this? Basically, next to the page numbers in the GridView I want a link button to disable paging. This works, but I want the button inside the footer of the GridView, next to the page numbers.

I am using a web form in vs2010 and in my form am having a gridview with button on footer. I have written the code to create a new row while click the button. If I click the button i got the following error

I need to add a sum total for each column in my gridview and I need to do this programmatically because my gridview mark up does not contain any column mark because the columns themselves are added programmatically.
This there away to do this on the row data bound event? If so how do you do it? I have 10 columns which each need to have a total.

View 4 RepliesI have gone through several posts on this forum about adding a linkbutton to an updatepanel dynamically. A lot of them say just give it a unique ID and some say you have to register add an AsyncPostBackTrigger to the triggers collection. I have tried both and neither work. I have this simple test that I created - the code is below - there is nothing else in this project but the code you see so I know nothing else is interfering with it.
I have also seem people complaining that the linkbutton causes the entire page to postback - in my case nothing happens... I have seen people talk about having to add the triggers on the page init however I can't do that - I am dynamically creating menus based on a selection in a listbox... (not in this simple test but in a larger project) I am using Visual web developer express 2010 if that makes any difference.

I have created a gridview dynamically from scratch and added it to my aspx page. This works fine, but i have a button in the footer of on of the columns, which when clicked on makes the gridview disappear and doesn't fire the onclick event that it should. This should obviously not be the case. My question is why does the event not fire and why does the gridview vanish? Bear in mind i have never created aa gridview in the code behind before, so excuse me if i am being dense

Upon clicking the Addnewrowbutton, it uses to create a new row dynamically.
What i need is, new row should also be created dynamically, upon pressing enter key in the last textbox on a particular gird view row. User always can't go and click addnewrowbutton every time to create new row. Instead of it, user can press enter in the last textbox on a particular grid view row to create new row.

I have an accessdatasource that pulls several columns from my users table including [userID]. Then I have a gridview that displays all this information by autofilling the columns. Finally I have added a column that I want to link to viewUser.aspx?userID=####. The #### would of course be from the query.
Here's my column that I've added:

This is my first time using this so I'm not sure what's wrong. I don't understand the '{0}' part and that's also where the problem lies. On the viewUser page when I print the querystring("userID") it just shows {0} as expected. How do I get my userID in there?
I could use late events such as EndRequest and put inside Response.Write but this way whatever I'm adding would come after the /html tag and the HTML won't be well formed.

My first column is Title Column (link button column), when the user click on the link, then one popup window will open with corresponding data. But the problem is the link button is not working properly. But this application is working as fine in asp.net application.

I have a GridView inside a Multiview. If user clicks the select linkbutton, the link open in another tab (external website). It works fine. However, in the original page the gridview just shifts to bottom of the page. I don't know what is causing this to happen. I have other button on the grid which opens the DetailsView in another page, but that works fine. Why grid moves to bottom?
