Configuration :: Error 1 Could Not Open Source File: Could Not Find File 'C:11-22 EstobjDebugCSAutoParameterize RansformedWeb.config'. 0 0 Test

Nov 24, 2010

I have built an ASP.NET (.NET v4) application in VS 2010. It is working just fine. But when I try to create deployment package (so I can deploy it in our test IIS 7.5 Server), it gives me error like this,

Error 1 Could not open Source file: Could not find file 'C:11-2 estobjDebugCSAutoParameterize ransformedWeb.config'. 0 0 test

Thing is in past, I had deployed the SAME application using the SAME method.

Configuration :: Merging Two Web.config Files To Add An Open Source Forum Project?

Apr 12, 2010

I was merging my web.config file and one I downloaded for open source forums, as it told me to. I copied the different lines myself, but now I'm getting three compile errors in my file.

Here are the errors:

1- The 'compliation' start tag on line 47 does not match the end tag of 'system.web'. Line 205, position 4.

2- Tag was not closed. (On line 47, column 4)

3- Expecting end tag </compilation>. (On line 205, column 3)

I'll also post my web.config file below.

Configuration :: How To Merge A Distribution Web.config File And An Existing Web.config File

Mar 30, 2010

I'm preparing to deploy a ASP.NET web application. The target server has already a previous version of my web application with parameters specified on the web.config file.

In the new version of this web application, the web.config file contains new sections I would like they appear into the target web.config file on the server.

However I can't find the way to merge the new web.config sections into the existing web.config file ?

Does I have to do it programmatically, or is there a tool to merge the both files during installation ? (I'm using Web Setup Project).

Configuration :: Encrypted Web.config File - Production Server Error

Dec 27, 2010

I encrypted my web.config file and I copied this file to the production server. But I get an error. But without encrypting - it's ok. I used:

C:WindowsMicrosoft.NETFramework64v4.0.30319aspnet_regiis -pef "appSettings" "C:inetpubwwwrootSite1" -prov RsaProtectedConfigurationProvider

I don't have access to IIS. Is it possible to encrypt config file and everything works?

Configuration :: Create A Custom Error Page In Web.config File?

Apr 14, 2010

If I create a custom error page in my web.config file, how do I retrieve error details in the error page?

So with ...

<customErrors mode="On" defaultRedirect="/error/error.aspx">
<error statusCode="404" redirect="/error/404.aspx" />
</customErrors>

I am referring to errors generated by my asp.net. For example I created a sample page and wrote 'throw new Exception("some error")' as a test. How can I retrieve an instance of the exception or exception details in my "/error/error.aspx" page? Currently in my error page if I query Server.GetLastError() the return value is null.

C# - Use Connectionstring From Web.config In Source Code File?

Mar 15, 2011

I know this might be a very basic question, but maybe thats why im having problems finding the answer. Right now I'm creating database connections in my source files by doing something like this:

SqlConnection con = new SqlConnection("Data Source=...Password=...);
SqlCommand cmd = new SqlCommand(String.Format("SELECT * FROM Table;"), con);
con.Open();
SqlDataReader reader = cmd.ExecuteReader();

But this means that if I choose to change databases it will be a major pain in the ass. Do you guys know how to use the connection string from a web.config file instead?

Recommendation For Open-source/free Web Stress Test Tool?

Nov 1, 2010

We have an application that may or may not have problems during heavy load. To try to get more correct usage patterns regarding load, we'd like to just fire up a bunch of users logging in, and then repeatedly just navigating through a list of links (our menu basically.)Is there any open source or free tools we can use? We're not adverse to pay for anything if we need to but right now we are trying a bunch of different things and we'd like to hold off on this until we know a bit more.Of course, some simply Python scripts would do the trick, but if there's anything we could input our links to that saves us a bit of time in this it would be most welcome.

C# - Is There A Visual Studio Load Test Open Source Equivalent - Or Something Close

Jun 2, 2010

In Visual Studio Team Edition there is a load test tool where you can select unit tests, integration tests etc... to form scenarios which are then used in a load test session with different configurations for example varying usage levels.

Looking at for example the NUnit framework, it would be possible to develop a form of such a tool, along with a base load testing code base, but I was interested if anyone knows of any open source project which has has already done a similar thing which could then be of use for this situation and possibly extended?
