I understand I need to load my dynmaic control on every postback and preferrably in Page_Init(). But my dyanmic controls are loaded from a dropdownlist selectedindexchanged event handler. Now after any postback, my dynamic controls are gone. How would I force it to load on every postback ?
I have a page that in the right side I have billing address (that is user control) and on the left side I have another user control that is shipping address. I have a checkbox in the page that by checking this checkbox I would like to fill out the shipping address with billing address. I usefully do this with JavaScript function but as long as here these 2 set of textboxes are user control I don't know how I can do this.
I have a cached control object form a UserControl in asp.net cache. I like to access my control and make a copy of it to freely change it without having any affect on the base cached control.
is it posible to edit the radiobuttonlist control output?
for some reasone someone at microsoft decided that every item in a web page should be in a table, which ofcourse is an outdated way to do things on the web,
and they forgot to update it to the moderrn world, so i need to change it now.
is there a way to copy this control and edit it to something more semantic?
I would like to be able to copy one row and five columns from an Excel spreadsheet to a table like structure on a ASP.NET web form. The idea is keeping the data in the exact row and column from Excel to the table like control on the ASP.NET web-form. Then I want to be able to save to the contents of the ASP.NET control to a database by a buttoon command click. What ASP.NET control would allow me to do this? Gridviews and datagrids don't seem to allow me to do this.
What control would allow me to paste a single row (5 columns) from Excel and allow me to copy it to an Excel type of row (5 columns) in asp.net form? Then I want to be able to save the contents by a click of a command button to database.
I am looking for a way to display an iframe code part in my website. Also, I am looking for a component to make it easy to copy/paste this iframe code part.
If i use signs like ë in the HTML Editor, in IE, its ok, and works. But if i use ë in firefox in the same page with the HTML Editor. If i press safe the ë is converted to: (copy past doesnt work well, but its a square if you put [] to each other). But how is this possible? And how can i solve this problem? In IE its working well, but 50% of the users of the system i build are using Firefox. So it should work in all editors.
I have a page books.aspx that has a control named authors.ascx.
Inside the authors control there is a "select" button I want to add some kind of listener or event handler (not sure of the correct terminology) so on the parent page (books.aspx) I can respond to the "select" button being clicked.
I have to pass the authorID from the user control to the parent page.
In my authors.ascx control I just created this event:
[Code]....
Now I need to write the function for SelectAuthorBtnClick and I think add some kind of listener in the parent page to listen and handle the event.
I have a gridview called gvResults. In the gvResults_RowEditing event I add a row below the one selected. In that new row, which spans all columns, I insert a user-control. There are two buttons and some textboxes in the user control.
My problem is that when I click one of the user-control buttons it never gets to the button event handler, I think because the user control is not recreated on the page postback. How can I have the user-control events fire before the parent page events fire?
I tried using an update panel, but I still get the parent posting back before the user-control events.
I am facing one strange problem,I have a gridview in which the last two columns have checkboxes and on those checkboxes click event I am doing some database operations.I also have one checkbox that is outside the gridview which actually shows or hides some of the gidview columns. This was all working well but now I have shifted that grid to a user control because I have to use it in two pages. The problem now is,When the page first loads and I click the check box or any control in the page that is outside the grid then it works perfectly. But once I click any of the check box within grid view column then its behavior chages, now even if I click the checkbox that is outside the grid then also the checkbox_CheckedChanged event of the checkbox that is whithin gridview is fired. That checkbox event then behaves something like a page_load event that is called for every page load and for every event with in the page after it is called once.
well i have already created the rows and cells dynamically using asp.net table control ...but how to add an onclick event on that ...so that i could retrieve the corresponding cell when a particular row is clicked ...if it was a html control ,i could have used javascript but in this particular case m unable to find any solution..
I have a FormView control in an ASP.NET page. I use the InsertItemTemplate and EditItemTemplate to provide data manipulation functionality, and it is working very well. I would like to allow the user to "Copy to new" from an existing item. In other words, I want the user to be able to display an item as if they are going to edit it, then, if they click a "Copy to new" button, it will load the information from that item into an "Insert" form so they could just change the bits of data that they want, and insert the new item.
The data objects we are dealing with are fairly large so, providing this functionality will save the user a lot of data entry misery.
I have experimented with copying the existing EditItemTemplate controls in the Copy button's click event, storing them, and writing them to the new InsertItemTemplate controls, once the form is reloaded (in the Page_PreRender event). But this is pretty ugly stuff. There has to be a better/simpler way.
I've found posts about making a click event with jQuery for a button, however I need a little more then that. When any postback occurs on a page, I need to fire off a jQuery click event. Based on a condition, I want to continue processing (including running the server-side event code after the jQuery code), or, perform a redirect. I'm not quite sure how to go about this.
I have a webdayview control (Infragistics proprietary ASP.net control) on my page. On the aspx source I've inserted some javascript (webdayview_click - clientside click event) that calls a webmethod in the codebehind. This seems to work fine, but when I insert this webdayview control into a user control and move the corresponding javascript into the aspx of the user control, it doesn't work. I can't even insert a breakpoint into the javascript function to debug it. Is there a way to make it work? I want to enable the click event of the webdayview control so that when I click on it, the javascript function calls the webmethod. Here's my code (remember it is inside a user control):
[code]...
I posted this question on the Infragistics forum but didn't get any replies. Hopefully I'll get some here. :)
I have a label control. I added table dynamically into the label. and dynamically buttons into table cells. On button click of each cell raises a popup where I can add a item. Now I have a problem, My table is not refreshing when I added the items and closed the popup. But they are adding on the next event raise.
I am creating a web control by addin the html in the code behind, like this:
Code: Dim sb As New StringBuilder Dim myDiv As HtmlGenericControl = Me.theContainer sb.Append("<table width='100%' cellpadding='0' cellspacing='0' style='border:0px;'>" & vbCrLf) sb.Append(" <tr class='mainRow1'>" & vbCrLf) sb.Append("<td align='left' style='border:0px solid white;'>Main Menu</td>" & vbCrLf)
[Code] ....
This will generate the html for the table in the codebehind then inject it into the specified DIV element. My question is, if I create a control in this manner, how do i add an event that will fire a method in my codebehind? For example, if i want to create a image button i would do it this way in the code:
Code:
<asp:ImageButton CommandArgument='<%# (Container.DataItem.objectValue) %>' ID='ImageButton1' runat='server' OnCommand='Button1_Click' ImageUrl='~/images/folder.gif' /> but in the code behind i would do this:
