Forms Data Controls :: Change Property Value Of An Object Based On A Database Value?

I'm new to ASP so this may seem so simple but I cannot work it out.
I am trying to create a script that changes its output based on a range of values. Here is what I mean:
I have a MSSQL database with an ASP scripted website that reads it and displays the data in a table. One of the columns in the database is a percentage and I want that column in the web page to have a background colour based on the figure outputted.
So each cell may be a different colour. If the number is between 0 and 30 then red background, 31 to 70 orange etc.
At the moment I have the database output script looking like this:

Traditionally with an Object Data Source, the wired up class will have its public properties available for binding (i.e. Gridview columns, etc.) which works well. But what if one of my wired up business objects has a property that is an object itself; can I drill down to a property on that object property and still use it?
So in additiona to the traditional:MyBusniessObject.OrderID...I want to use:MyBusniessObject.Customer.NameID
Your 1st response might be to just wire up the 'Customer' class, but I need properties both on 'MyBusinessObject'and 'Customer'. I do not think this can be done, as the ODS will not display properties on an object instance property. I have tried manually typing in the drilled down value as well, but that wasn't a success either.

I am working on Vs2005 and asp.net 2.0. I have a solution with 4 projects (business object, components, data access, webclient)When I change any existing method or property in Business object or data access, it is not reflecting in the application. I have deleted the existing references to the project and added them after the new build. I always get errors like "method not found or No overload method "It seems like old verion of dll is still there in the reference.

I have a GridView with an alternating Css style. The GridView has a column called tradeId. What I want to show is an alternating colour based on a change in the tradeId. Is this possible? In an ASP.NET 3.5 VB web app, I successfully manage to cache an object containing several personal details such as name, address, etc. One of the items is CreditNum which I'd like to change in the cache on the fly. Is there a way to access this directly in the cache or do I have to destroy and rebuild the whole object just to change the value of objMemberDetails.CreditNum?The cache is set using:

i have a sortedlist who values contain a Product objects. i wish to set the Quantity property of a selected Product object ( from gridview) when the Quantity field changes?
how do i compare whether the product row Quantity field in the gridview is the same as the Product Quantity property in the sortedlist and update accordingly?
note. i have converted to a list(of product) to bind to gridview. then update the sortedlist values

I have a textbox in Formview inserttemplate and I want it be invisible on click of a button.In Visual Studio the intelligensense for this textbox does not show up at all - meaning it is not accessible. I'm using an edittemplate to handle both editing and inserting for a Formview. In Insert mode, the Identity parameter is not needed (and cannot be used in the parameter list). In Edit mode, I need the bound value to know which record to update. So, what I tried to do is set the Text property in the OnDataBinding method.

The result is that the field is bound for Insert anyway, shows up as a parameter, and my insert statement fails (since this extra field messes up the field order of the parameters). Plus, it is always null in Insert mode by definition.
Is the OnDataBinding method too late to clear the property? If so, where can I do this, since PageLoad is too early (the template has not loaded yet and I cannot Findcontrol the field. Or is there a better way to handle all this?

I am working with a formview edititemtemplate. Currently in my page load, i have some stuff that would show or hide certain panels based on dropdownlist values. These dropdown values get binded during page load. I need to be able to change the values/dropdowns, without rebinding the old data, and updating the visibility of the panels based on predefined rules.
I have experimented with putting my formview.databind() in page load if isnotpostback, in prerender, in prerender if isnotpostback. I have tried my rules (ex if ddlState.selectedvalue = "DE" then pnlDelaware.visible = "true") in the page load, and the page render. I'm just not sure how to get the stars aligned here. The closest i have come is having the databind in the pageload if notispostback, and the rules in the prerender. However I get an error "dropdownlist has a SelectedValue which is invalid because it does not exist in the list of items.
