I want to have a listview with conditional formatting on its edit and delete button.So, in nutshell, I want to check if the writer of post is equal to session("memberid"), then the edit and delete button will be appeared, else, it will show hidden.

I have a gridview on my aspx page. I know we can format gridview row in rowdatabound() of gridview. But my problem is bit different.
In my gridview, i have a column customer code, a single code can repeat more than once successively. I want for one customer code, row color should be blue and as soon as code changes colour should be yellow for that code. Similarly when code changes again color should be blue again.
In this way color of my gridview rows should be blue and yellow alternately based on my customer code.I have arranged customer code in order by using sql order by clause.

In my repeater I am attempting to set the label format based on a value from my datasource. The following line from my repeater is straightforward enough but now how would I modify it if I wanted the "C2" statement in the ToString to pull from a field in my datasource named "MyFormat" which would contain either the C2 or N0 value? Basically switching the formatting for that label between currency and a double?
On the items in my listview, I have a button to allow for editing. The strange thing is, that the button only changes to editmode on the second click of the button, and then it doesn't load the data from the item. I have tried to debug this issue, and it does cause a postback on the first click, but nothing happens. Then on the second click, it fires a postback again and changes to the edittemplate, but without any data.
I have a ListView Which displays Customer, product, price, Quantity and comments from database.The User can either edit it or Insert new items. I've a listview in which i'm binding data from objectdata source. I have a requirement where i've to allow edit/delete for only certail listviewitem which meets specific requirement. How do i dynamically set that some item can be only be edited not deleted thus only edit button/link should appear and vice-versa.
I'm using a formatting expression with a template field. When the details view goes into edit mode the formatting is applied. It looks great because it applies the currency formatting. It shows up as "$60,000.00" instead of "60,000.0000". But then when I do the update it gets rejected because of the $. Is there a way to keep the formatting for the user to see in edit mode but remove the $ when doing the update so I don't get the error?

I have a gridview with a select link (Not auto created) One of my columns is a date column Another column is essentially a 'group code' For rows that have the same group code I want to disable or make the link button not visible for all but the most recent row. I have a page where I have a tab container and four tabs. the problem is on the first tab "manage quote request" I have a Gridview with the quote request general informatin listed and have a template field created with a link button to databind to the formview quote details. the porblem comes in when after I click on the select linkbutton. the Formview loads right. Then Whe I try to click on the edit linkbuttin in the form view I have to click it twice to change the mode to edit.
In my edit template I want a dropdownlist containing a list of possible customers. The list is populated from a database table containing existing customers. If the main record has customer "XYZ", then I want that customer to be the default in the dropdown. I'm using VS 2008 and C# My markup for the dropdownlist is currently:

The dropdownlist is populated but the problem is it shows the first customer in the list. I don't want the user to have to rechoose customer if that is not what they are changing.

For this, I defined a class 'Student' that has the properties StudentName[String] and Exams [a list of ExamGrade objects which has the Exam and Grade properties]. And I am using nested listviews to display the data. Here is the markup for the ListViews:

Now the issue is that I have to press the Edit button [link button] twicw to get the EditItemTemplate. Even then I would get the blank textboxes. So what should I do to make the EditItemTemplate appear on the first click and the TextBoxes to appear with the existing data?

I have a basic list view, in the edit mode I have a dropdown list, and a checkbox, I want it so that if you choose "yes" from the drop down box the check boxs becomes enabled. I know I need to find the control but I keep getting object refrence error with this code.

the listview renders its layout / item template fine but when I click on edit to send it to edit mode it fails to find the dropdownlist ddlQA1YNM which is a bit ironic cause its the ddlQA1YNM that is making the call to ddlQA1YNM_ondatabound. Now it could be with the fact its on the databound stage. Not sure how that plays into the stack. I call ondatabound to determine what the dropdownlist value is and set the enabled status according on the load into edit mode.
i am updating data using editcommand by listview.. i got data max 50 depends on customers sometimes it has a few in the database. i am using listview and sqldatasource. when i update using editcommand in listview. it doesnt update relevant rows. it update to all data in database. why.. i have provided datasoure and list view.
I have a problem with using the listview.When I want to update or cancel the update, the listview doesn't leave the edit mode.When I clicked the updatebutton, the methode Listview.Itemupdating is fire and changes the database.
