View 4 RepliesI have two textBox, one button and one gridview. In one texbox, I enter a value, click the button to add this entry to the gridview and the footer is computing the sum as i add more entries to the gridview.
I also have a textbox outside the gridview that will hold an amount, now I want to perform an operation like...(txtOutsideGridview - gridviewEntry1 - gridviewEntry2), and display the result of this operation inside the footer of the gridview, instead of the sum. How do I go about doing this?
So far all I have been able to do is sum up the total of entries within the Gridview, but that is not my desired operation...here is what my current code looks like
[Code]....
I am having a gridview with some button column. I have written some functionality in code behind for the button click. How can i display a confirm dialog in mid of the button click functionality and based on users response(Yes or No from dialog) i need to continue the remaining funtionality in the button click event.
View 4 RepliesI have a simple add form on the page and below it is its gridview with edit and delete buttons. Everything works fine, but when i click on edit on a particular row/record, it changes to edit row but i want the record to be edited in the original add form (which is above the gridview).
I am able to edit a record on the gridview but i want it to be edited in the add form. Is there any particular way to do this? I came across formview concept but not sure if i am able to do that with it.
Below is the form and gridview code.
<%@ Page Title="Add User" Language="C#" AutoEventWireup="true" CodeFile="adduser.aspx.cs"
Inherits="_Default" %>
<%@ Register Assembly="AjaxControlToolkit" Namespace="AjaxControlToolkit" TagPrefix="ajax" %>
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">

Any one know how to resolve the below list code? Is there a listview row property or equivalent to gridview?
[Code]...
I want to do one thing that when i edit the gridview then it will not go back to main form for editing.it will remain there in the form for the row editable.
i-e when i edit any row then it will be editable on the gridview.
<asp:GridView ID="noticeDetails" runat="server" BorderWidth="1px" AutoGenerateColumns="false" PageSize="10" Width="10%" CellPadding="10"
AllowSorting="true" AllowPaging="true" AutoGenerateEditButton="true" onrowediting="noticeDetails_RowEditing"
onrowcancelingediting="noticeDetails_Rowcancelingediting"

I want insert data's via Datagrid,How Can Do That
View 2 Repliesi have a textbox , an 'add' button a gridview . All these are in an upadate panel. Using the 'Add' button i am adding the value in textbox into the grid . My gridview is having a button to edit and delete the details. On clicking the edit button i am showing the value in the selected row into the textbox and the on clicking the add button i am updating the details and again bind the grid. On clicking the delete button in gridview row i am deleting the value in the current row and bind the grid again.Everything is working fine but i want to set the focus to textbox after each operation. If iuse the following statement in corresponding operation it is causing the refresh of the update panel. I am not including the statement it will not cause a refresh .
View 4 RepliesI am inserting mortgage loan scenarios in via GridView table. Let's say $100K loan with FICO score 700 in state of MN.
Sometimes I want to apply the same scenario to multiple states rather than Inserting one row at a time. I figured a Listbox with SelectionMode="Multiple" option would be to way to go.
Here is some code snippets:

i make a grid view for performing crud operation. In last coloum item template of grid view, i write code as below..
[Code].....
in my case, It is the windows service which in running the long running insert/update on a table and I need to cancel the operation from my ASP.NET application. In the above link Burnsys suggests that one should kill the Sql server session. Is that really only way and a goood practice to do this? Also, in the same poset can use SqlCommand.Cancel to cancel. However, I am not sure how can I cancel the command from the windows service from ASP.NET application.

 these are my avaiable controls on the page
now on clicking the update button
i want all the values to be displayed on textboxes as above mentioned
What is the name of the DataTable in the following syntax:

I have a ListView displaying data from Table A using a SqlDataSource.
I want to take the displayed data (and these are just the standard columns representing fields in Table A) and store them in Table B using a Stored Procedure
(The scenario is much more complex but I've left out anything not relating to this exact problem).
I've added a Button to the ListViews ItemTemplate and I'm using OnItemCommand to create a Sub for its "Click" in the Code Behind.
This is a simplified chunk of the SQL I'm using to insert the ListView's fields into Table B using the Stored Procedure "InsertCart":
[Code]....
Where I've highlighted "Description" in the last line. In a GridView, this would be enough. Description is a Column name in Table A and B and iy's an Item in the ListView. But I'm realising that, with ListView's, the data binding is not as "automatic" as a GridView. Just using the columnname is not enough.
What do I use instead of the word Description to reference this column in the Parameter?
I have an Image control in a ListView's ItemTemplate.
I want the ImageUrl property to say:
[Code]....
in place of the bold text above.
I cannot, however, get the syntax right. I keep getting "syntax is not well formed" errors.
correct syntax for this, or, if I'm barking up the wrong tree altogether, the correct method.
Are we using 'MyDataGrid' in the correct syntax to insert data
Code behind reads:
[Code]....
The front code [URL] for the Gridview reads:
[Code]....
I am gettinga syntex error. Is Primary field is a bit data type in the database.
<asp:TemplateField HeaderText="IsPrimary">
<EditItemTemplate>
<asp:CheckBox runat="server" ID="chkIsPrimary" Checked='<%# Eval("IsPrimary").ToString() == "1"? true : false %>' />
</EditItemTemplate>
</asp:TemplateField>
I have a listview (userid, users) and a checkbox. I would like to select the checkbox and store the userid in a textbox then into a session page. I am having issues with the code as it seems incorrect, due to the listview1.row.
[Code]....
I am trying to update the database with the edited data. However, it did not manage to read the edited data from the textbox. It returned the retrieve data that I have done in the Page_Load instead. Is there any part of the code that I have written wrongly? I did manage not to use <EditItemTemplate> in my past project and manage to update the database with the same logic.

Having problems with the syntax of my ImageURL inside DataList ItemTemplate want to show images that I have stored in a database.
<asp:Image ID="Image1" runat="server" ImageUrl='showimg.aspx?ImageID=<%# Eval("id") %>'/>
Makes the img syntax look like this.
<img id="DataList1_ctl00_Image1"
src="showimg.aspx?ImageID=<%# Eval("id") %>"
style="border-width:0px;" />
Response.AppendHeader("Content-Disposition","attachment; filename=row.Cells[2].Text;
When the OPEN/SAVE file box is displayed the file name is listed as row.Cells[2].Text.
I want it to be listed with the value in that cell of my gridview which is log.doc.
I have a GridView which populates
ID Name City
1 Bobby AAA
2 Laura BBB
3 Ilisha CCC
I want to get an enumerable collection something like following
var Query= from p in GridView1.Rows
select new { User_ID=p.ID,User_Name=p.Name,User_City=p.City }.ToList();
I would like to know how to avoid the same operation from being performed twice after some action has been taken on the gridview.
i.e. on clicking a button in gridview, operations in RowCommand get executed. Then on doing a page refresh, the same thing gets done again.
How can we avoid this?
I'm having problem in inserting text from a textbox in which user write or copy some text which may contain special characters ( " , . ) etc. If there is any special character it get conflict with CommandText Syntax and generates error in inserting. I want to insert all these characters. How could i do it?

The following CLR syntax works fine in my aspx page:
<%@ Page Language="C#" MasterPageFile="~/Views/Shared/Site.Master" Inherits="Website.MyBasePage`1[HomePageViewModel]" %>
But this C# syntax does not:
<%@ Page Language="C#" MasterPageFile="~/Views/Shared/Site.Master" Inherits="Website.MyBasePage<HomePageViewModel>" %>
Note, I am not using ASP.NET MVC, but this works fine if using System.Web.Mvc.ViewPage<> from ASP.NET MVC.
My MyBasePage looks like this:
public class MyBasePage<TModel> : Page where TModel : class {
public TModel Model
{
get { return (TModel)HttpContext.Current.Items["model"]; }
}
}
